Food is cheap! If you are looking for some cheap Chinese food; this is the place. Poor quality ingredients, made up with plenty of msg. You can see the mag crystals on the salt and pepper pork chops and salt and pepper shrimps. You surely will be thirsty after eating here. The second generation owner/manager has an attitude towards every customer coming in. Maybe he doesn’t like his job; just there for the money I guess. On top of that the Service is lousy.

This place is awesome the portionsis ridiculous n the prices are fair n well worth it. Alot of selection n the lunch specials are even enormous as well(alacart). Great tasting food n always busy, customer service is ok u kinda have to be on top of them cuz its always busy so they r running around from table to table. So take charge if u need something don’t wait for them to come to u… a must try if ur in the area.

Haven’t been to Seafood Port in quite a while. Came due to family member birthday. Arrived and noted«B» rating! Family members ate but not me!

One of my favorite Chinese restaurants. I would give it four stars due to the age of the restaurant and how after decades, their couches and chairs remain the same… Lol But regardless of their uncleanliness or their«Asian rudeness», I love their food! I’m pretty sure like most other Chinese restaurants, every plate comes with a handful of msg, it’s something I still always come back to and crave! I mean, I’m already choosing to eat out instead of at home and choosing to grab Chinese food instead of something healthy, then you cannot come in here expecting it to be msg-less! LUNCHSPECIALS! Really great prices with good portions! What I order: — snow peas: Chinese greens steamed and roasted with garlic and oyster sauce. — salt and pepper pork chops — kung pao shrimp: made with a lot of peanuts and green onions! Use the left over as fried rice sauce! — chow fun(flat noodles with meat and gravy) — whole fried fish — salt and pepper shrimp — French style steak: really tender and well made beer dish Oh the endless choices!

I work right down the street and love Asian food and was happy to try this place. Was excited to try this place after a friend recommended it to me. I came in and ordered Shrimp with Snow Peas. I asked for them to add Ginger because I like it that way. I was told absolutely not. Lunch orders are as is and for some reason adding ginger was a big deal. It’s not like I was changing a side dish or a vegetable! I saw that everyone was getting soup with their lunch special. I asked what kind we get with the lunch special and he said Hot and Sour but you don’t get it when you get to go. But we still pay the same price? I was super hungry and was told 15 minutes for my order and so I asked if I could sit down and have my soup while I wait. I was laughed at and told no. As I was leaving I noticed their B rating on the door… geez! Got to my shop and the food decent. Would have been better with ginger! Customer Service was really bad and I believe it was the owner or son of the owner. He is in a dress shirt and behind the counter. Really sad! Being kind goes a long way. It’s all good though… there are a million other places to get lunch!

Seafood Port has great food at low prices. Their lunch specials come are $ 8, the lunch menu ends at 3pm. After 3pm the dinner menu is available with prices mostly between $ 10-$ 20. Each meal can easily feed two or more hungry people. All the food is super great tasting, favorite dishes are the Salt and Pepper Shrimp and the Salt and Pepper Pork chops. Service is fast and friendly although when busy there might be a wait to be seated.

Ahh. I’m so in love with this place. it happened so quickly that I can’t even change what I order. So far I’ve tried their Szechuan style tofu with meat(mapo tofu) and their sweet and sour fish… for starches I’ve had their seafood fried rice and house fried rice, and the last trip got their chow fun with beef(dry). First off, if salt is your thing – you won’t like it here, everything is lightly seasoned and perfect for my palette(I always prefer to be able to add salt to my dishes, since you can’t get rid of the salt if it is already overseasoned). I’ve only been to this place twice and it is definitely a busy place. The dishes are a little expensive(most are $ 9.95+) but the portions are HUGE – definitely worth it. Order one dish a person with a heavy appetite and you will be stuffed and still have leftovers for tomorrow. Can’t wait to come back and try something new. if I can ever get away from ordering the mapo tofu and sweet and sour fish. its so good!

Sat down here with Mom for the first time ever last night. Got there at about 6:30 on a Friday and were seated immediately. We had seafood and tofu soup, scallops in black bean sauce, garlic string beans and steamed rice. All were large portions and excellent. Definitely could have fed three adults. There were some seriously large and beautiful sea scallops in the scallop dish. The green beans were different than the«braised» kind you may have had elsewhere. Instead of being served with bits of ground meat, it was in a sauce like orange chicken(without the chicken), complete with bits of orange peel and a hint of garlic… delish! Wish we had more people or bigger appetites– we saw giant platters of pork chops and a very nice looking whole fried fish paraded past our table, and they didn’t even offer us a sample… how rude! :) In terms of drinks, they have Tsing Tao for a reasonable $ 4.00. Carafes of burgundy, chablis and rose were a slightly unbelievable $ 8.00. The burgundy was nothing fancy and fine. Service was very good. The young host was outstanding– efficient, informative and polite. The only downside is that the dining room is showing its age. It seems clean enough, but it’s definitely nothing fancy, There seems to be some confusion between the relationship between this place and Seafood Town further south on Hawthorne. They used to be under the same ownership, but the Port people sold off the Town location to another owner. The parking at Town is crazy and I think it’s busier at peak times. I definitely prefer Port, and I think the food is a wee bit better.

I’ve come here two times now with my bf and his family for lunch. This place gets packed on the weekend– even for a late lunch(1pm), there was a long wait. I can understand why, though… the food is authentic, tasty, HUGE portions and super affordable, especially their lunch specials which cost less than $ 10/dish. I don’t remember what exactly we ordered but we got fried calamari, a fish dish, the fried pork, and tofu and veggies. The lunch special came with sweet & sour soup, which I always enjoy here, and dessert. I wish this place were closer to where I live so I can get cheap chinese food when I’m too lazy to cook it myself. I’d definitely recommend this place!

Everyone should go here for lunch! Plates range form $ 6-$ 7.50 and are larger than the average serving. The meal also comes with soup and egg pudding dessert. We ordered: porkchops, house chow mein, beef and broccoli, eggplant, and the salt and pepper squid. The porkchops were by far the favorite dish at the table. I think the next favorite was the beef and broccoli. Great food for a great price!

The Lunch Specials are at or under $ 10 after tax and tip, as low as $ 6.50 which is a complete meal with soup(hot and sour), entrée(your choice), rice(white steamed long grain) and desert(‘tho it’s a sweet tapioca, and I personally prefer a cold mango pudding or even almond jello). We had the house special lo-mein(Chow Mein, softer thicker pan fried noodles, not the crispy thin variety), the beef with Chinese broccoli, and the fish fillets with bok choy for lunch. Everything was delicious! The quality and quantity of the portions is good. You can do «family style» here and enjoy lots of tasty flavors to share and more than likely have leftovers to take home for another meal. Parking is easy, there’s a shared parking lot in the front and the back. It’s located next to one of the cheapest gasoline stations(other than Costco) that is great for filling up your tank, as they reliably have the lowest rates in the area.

The real deal in the south bay for Chinese food. From what my local friends have told me. This spot has been here for ages. The portions are huge! Most bang for your BUCK$. The food taste great too. For dinner I had the wonton soup(feeds 2) kung-pao chicken(feeds 2 — it had too many peanuts) beef and broccoli(feeds 2) broccoli was steamed the right amount. House special fried rice(feeds 4) it was made with pork, chicken, beef, and shrimp — they were very generous with the shrimps — other restaurants aren’t. I kid you not. They had a flute player during dinner.

Kind of a comical place. Somewhat bizarre but you still keep going back and thinking about the food! We were a group of 20 so we were in the back«private» room. I have to say the service was great at our table. The server was friendly and patient. Even funny! Not sure if that was the difference — or perhaps because we got 8 lobster orders!!! The food we liked = garlic sauce green beans(so good), Kung pao chicken, noodles, fried calamari, clams. The food we didn’t care so much for = the porkchops(dry and tasteless, sorry I know people love it), shrimp and cashews. The lobster deserves a separate call out. First they were huge! 3– 3.5 pounds at $ 16 per pound. We got the house special preparation. First it is extremely hot when it arrives. Second is it extremely extremely messy(you need a shower). Third it seems they wok it in corn starch and add the sauce which forms a crust of sorts. the lobster meat is very hard to get out and it sticks to the shell. I would try a different style next time, maybe just steamed with a side of sauce. As others have said, the food portions are huge. 2 – 2.5 people per order depending on how hungry you are but it’s inexpensive enough to order a bunch of items and take home leftovers.

Still my favorite… However, I try not to be complacent when it comes to my food! That said the Salt & Pepper Pork Chops, 1 of my gotta haves, was so deep fried it was uneatable, yet it was still served up! After taking a few bites, I told my waiter who said & I quote, all orders of this Pork Chop were cooked just like this… as if too say, what’s the problem! I of course responded by asking him to take back and to please take it off my bill. Never once did the waiter do what we all would expect. Oh I’m very sorry, can I bring you anything else. Maybe this one, let me take care of that for you & get you a fresh order! Or how about this. Why did they let that dish out of the kitchen In the first place and why did he serve it? He was in a word combative! I”ve seen him before & my wife mentioned he’s been our waiter/server a few times over the last year or so! Let me end the insanity by saying this we had brought company with us, after having bragged about the food to our guest’s! 1 episode won’t keep us away, but I’ll not stand for another such visit! I’ll keep it at 4 out of 5 stars.

I’ll be the first to say Seafood Port and their sister restaurant has the best Chinese food in the South Bay! In my opinion the flavor of food and the value that you get is the best. It really is my favorite place for Chinese food. However Seafood Town has way better service than Seafood Port! I am sad to give two stars to Seafood Port because of their service! As one can see in my previous Unilocal review, I have had bad service here before when placing a to-go order. Once again during the holiday, i faced another situation were I was simply dismayed and disappointed with their service. My family and I wanted to order a half try of one of their chicken dishes for Christmas day. A couple days before we were told we could not pre-order but would just need to call the day of and 30 minutes before the time we needed it. On Christmas we did just that and the lady who answered the phone happened to be the same one I mentioned on my review below. Barely getting a hello out on the phone much less our order in, the lady automatically responded with a «We are busy» and then just hung up on us. It was the weirdest and rudest thing. We called back and the phone was busy. We called back a third and fourth time and the phone just kept ringing and ringing. It just really seemed like they didn’t want our business and we ended up ordering elsewhere. I can understand that it can be overwhelming on a holiday to have so many orders but that doesn’t mean they should hang up on their customers or not pick up the phone. That is just plain rude and bad. I really like their food here but I think their customer service definitely needs some work. I wrote my last review five years ago and five years later, the same lady who yelled at my mom back then is the same one who hung up on us. Boo — one less star for Seafood Port for the continuous bad manners and bad service! The food here is great and many folks go here but that is no reason to treat your loyal customers badly! To the lady working the front desk at Seafood Port, please be kind to your patrons. We love your restaurant but the attitude and rudeness needs to go. Hanging up on your customers when they want to place an order is just not right. When I call Seafood Town, they have much better service and are way more accommodating. I will be going to Seafood Town from now on.

My absolute favorite Chinese restaurant in Torrance. I’ve been frequenting this place for more than 8 years and it hasn’t let me down. Try the sweet and sour pork dish with the hot and sour soup. They cook with high quality ingredients and give ample amount of meat, shrimp and vegetables. Service is great and fast. I highly recommend that you try their lunch sets or dinner plates.

Gave this place a try based on a recommendation from a co-worker, place is fairly small and well maintained, I don’t know if our waiter was having a bad day or is a pai-gow dealer on weekends, as he kind of tossed out plates on the table, put the tea cups down hard like they were pai-gow tiles. Our food came fast and it was hot and fresh, there was a very good portion size on everything, the only thing my wife did not like was the hot and sour soup as it was a little bit on the bland side. After dropping off our food we never saw the waiter again, we had to flag down a couple of other employees to get water refills and containers to take our extra’s home. The lack of service and attention to customers seems to be the general rule here, so while the food is good there are many other places that seem to want the business. 3 Stars for food, minus 1 star for poor service

If you’re looking for friendly service or super clean conditions… you better look elsewhere to get your Chinese fix. But if you’re looking for authentic Chinese(and yes that includes the servers and less than an A-rating from the health department) then you’re in the right place! The dinner portions are big and expect to take home leftovers. Normal dishes are usually about $ 9. Have tried a lot from their menu but this last time we went, we got black mushrooms with Chinese green(baby bok choy), chow fun with beef, salt and pepper pork chops, and fried tofu. The fried tofu is not on the menu but it is really yummy. It comes out piping hot, very crispy and with a soy sauce and fish sauce for dipping. The salt and pepper pork chops are always a must for my family too. Those are dangerously good. Cons: The tables were too close together and felt cramped.

Downgrading them to 1 star due to RUDE service by the two women who work at the front counter. I’d give them a negative point value if I could. I went to order food to go from their lunch menu. Apparently, their lunch menu converts to the dinner menu right at 3 p.m. SHARP. I was there with another paying customer who was also trying to order take out. I could hear one woman mutter to the other one«…they wait until the last minute…». I couldn’t believe they would say that in English, fully expecting us to hear them. While we were reading the menu, they started rushing us to order, as if the cooks would turn into pumpkins at the stroke of 3! They handed us the lunch menu, so if they didn’t want us to order from that menu, all they had to do was give us the other one. I’ve had poor service at Chinese restaurants before, but these two women were offensive. After today, I have a bad taste in my mouth for this place. Their food isn’t that good to warrant another visit.
