****ZERO STARS! AVOID IF YOU ARE A MEDICARE PATIENT!!!****
I came here to take my dad in for laser surgery for his retina (He has glaucoma which is related to his diabetes.) Firstly, this office is a war zone. I went in on a weekday mid-​afternoon and the office was packed to the brim. There were several people standing around because all the seats were taken. Talk about lining them up like a slaughter house. Secondly, the front desk girl is rude, I let my dad talk to her when he checked in and she was extremely curt. She was so rude that I had to take over and speak on his behalf. Don’t ever speak to my dad that way.
After about 45 mins of waiting we finally saw Dr. Chu, who is a friendly upbeat guy, but I have to say… he misdiagnosed my dad with glaucoma commonly seen in older Asians, when in actuality he had diabetes related glaucoma and intraoccular pressure which was impacting his optic nerve, not a retina issue. I understand doctors don’t always get it right, but what happened to my dad is inexcusable.
My dad had been going to see Dr Chu for over a year with all kinds of expensive medications and treatment, but his glaucoma worsened. To the point where he can no longer drive and only has about 1% vision left in his right eye. So we decided to see another doctor and the new doctor, after looking at all the records this office forwarded, said Dr Chu misdiagnosed my dad with the type of glaucoma he had without running the proper tests to diagnose him in the first place!!! So Dr Chu basically treated my dad for over a year without running proper tests to receive a proper diagnosis, my dads vision worsens, and now may be permanently damaged! We put our trust in Dr Chu and his office, but he failed our whole family.
The last straw was fraudulent billing charges for the month of December 2015. They charged him for three visits in September, but he NEVER went to the doctors office at all in September!!! He did go in once in August and only spoke with a nurses assistant, yet somehow was billed for photos taken and consultation with the Doctor, when he didn’t even see or speak to a doctor!
We are currently hashing this out w Medicare billing, which is a nightmare. Be warned, someone in this office is forging medical records and tacking on fraudulent charges. You think you can mess with elderly people with limited English skills, but you’ve messed with the wrong family…
Avoid this hell of a nightmare office at all costs. My dad went in to another doctors office, got the proper treatment, and immediately post-​op was seen with an 80% reduction in ocular pressure… he is now on the road to proper treatment but we aren’t sure if his vision will ever be restored thanks to this office.

This place is great! I hardly waited to be seen, and both the PA and Dr. Chu were really great and professional! Would definitely recommend if you have to see a specialist!

The old lady that I had issues with is no longer there! So our visits are more pleasant now. Giving them 4 stars! Their are some new faces and they are all very nice. The other lady in the front who I think is the office manager is still there though. She’s been o.k. but still not like the other friendly staff members. It would be nice if she cracks a smile once in a while, especially when collects your copay/​balances.

These folks specialize in eye care, specifically things to do with the retina, if you couldn’t figure that out by the name of the company.
I was referred here by my regular opthamologist for a second opinion. My eye doctor says she comes here herself because she has problems with her own retinas. That says a lot.
They took me the same day and were able to tell me that nothing was wrong with my eyes. Whoo hoo for nothing being wrong with my eyes!!!
I was seen by Dr David S Boyer in the L.A. office, but my eye doctor says that all the doctors here are good.
