Typical steam table joint. TYPICAL is the keyword. They give you what you ask for– nothing more. I can’t say there’s anything special here, they close early on sundays… Mmhh. It’s ok.

Food is good, service sucks. They take 10 min plus to hand over a burrito. Especially when you see no customers waiting around.

I have been coming here with my Mexican food cravings for the past 20 years and will continue coming by. I will say that they’ve significantly increased their prices so eating here can be relatively pricey for a take-out Mexican meal($~6.5 for a burrito, ~$ 8 for a plate). They have almost double their prices in the past 15 years :(In addition, the portions have gotten smaller(or maybe I have gotten bigger?). The place is also old and unattractive– but hey, it’s a take-out place and I go there for the food, not the ambiance. Nevertheless, I’ll be coming back. I have been going for the past 15 years with my fiery Mexican food cravings and still love their food. Their red/green beef chili is the and I can just never get enough!

I just enjoyed a freshly made beef and potato burrito, and it was stuffed with plenty of Delicious shredded beef and potatoes. I don’t understand the negative reviews regarding the quality of the food. Its as good as home made. There are also complaints about the prices. You cheap bastards go to Del Taco or Taco Bell. You get what you pay for.

It is depressing to see my favorite childhood restaurant go downhill so quickly. I move out of the city and this is what happens to Ramonas?! I’ve been going here for years, I mean since I was born. My mom worked here when she was 16 and knew everything about the place and the best plates to order. Ramonas was hands down the best AUTHENTIC Mexican food around, the best. I would stop by with 10 bucks and get a bean and cheese burrito, with rice, lettuce, tomatoes and sauce in and on the side for $ 3.00. Big fat burrito that the ladies struggled to close and fit in the bag. Sometimes they would even add another tortilla to keep it together. The adds on before were an additional $.25! Not $ 1.00! And the ladies were so generous when you’d ask them for extra. I’d also get bomb tostadas de frijoles or tostada de chorizo and frijoles and it was the best! They would load that tostada, top off with cheese, toast it to melt the first layer of cheese, toss a mountain of lettuce with tomato and more cheese, with 4 salsas and i would get a coke and chips and still be under $ 10.00. Since the tostadas were $ 1.25. Chips were $ 1.10 and the drinks were $.95. Thats when it was under a different management. All the cooks and servers were Latino and just knew the Latino flavors. It felt like my grandma was in the back cooking her amazing Mexican dishes. Sadly, I stopped by and the atmosphere is different. This isn’t the same old hole in the wall, legit Mexican food. This is a franchise now, a true fast food joint. Taco Bell has better fake tacos than this place. It’s disgusting. The menu has changed. The flavor and the portions are different. NOTHING here represents Mexican food. The price is just ridiculous! You’re better off going to El Antojito off of Figueroa and getting a burrito for less. I hate it here. This new ownership has ruined it all and I truly miss the old place, the old cooks and the food. It will never be the same. I will never be back. So long childhood… So long memories… So long amazing food.

I gave Ramona’s hey seconds at a different location Crenshaw Bl, that last Ramona I been to was in Gardena and that did not go well with me, so I stayed away from Ramona’s, deciding to care for a second chance at a different location, Food still the same but a little bit more pricey.

The dynamics have changed. They have gotten a little rude… the new people. That fat guy especially… he looked exhausted and mad at the customers because he was exhausted like its our fault

After standing in line for about 20 mins(5 behind a difficult customer) they finally opened up another cashier to take orders. I heard that the food is good so I said I’ll bite. I heard it can add up but damn They charge u for everything. Literally everything. I ordered a burrito(rice/beans/meat) which thats how they come $ 7. Make it wet add $ 1.75. Make it a combo add $ 2. If u want cheese add $. Want sour cream add $. Want a lil more sauce add. It better be good

OK some time I check out Unilocal reviews after I have visited a business… I know I should be checking before, This is a much smaller one then Gardena there was a huge problem getting in the lot and trying to find a parking its in a strip mall with a lot of shops, I was in line at least 3mins. before I was greeted with a warm smiling hello how may I help you from Gabriela, I ordered a chicken enchilada plate w/red sauce $ 7.25 and two chicken burrito original style one red the other green sauce $ 5.00 each and about 8mins. later I was out the door, it was clean inside this one even has about three tables and chairs inside to eat, the food even taste the same as in Gardena, three stars for great services and a clean place, the only problem I have with this Ramona’s location is the parking and for that reason I won’t be back.

I go to ElCo and I was tired of making a trip to Del Taco, so instead I opted for some Ramona’s because my dad told me that he really liked the food here and it was«dirt cheap.» unrelated, but before I walked inside this guy wearing a 100 emoji shirt tried to flirt with me by the door and when I told him I was gay he said, «I can change that, ma.» that was when I realized I hate straight boys. so I go in, and I’m a little confused. I can’t see the menu really well, but I did see a big sign that said a chicken burrito with either red or green chile was only $ 5! so I guess I ordered that and tried to get everything in it, and apparently each add-on costs more? that is not $ 5 :(they told me to get a «Ramona style» burrito and I was like… ok, not knowing what it was. I thought it was a cheaper variation of a chicken burrito with all of the add-ons… but it’s a burrito with ONLY the add-ons? I wasn’t entirely sure if there was supposed to be chicken or not, because the burrito they made me didn’t have chicken, but I didn’t enjoy it. the burrito was small for the price(which I think was about $ 9) and it did not leave me a good impression. I’m irritated because I don’t know if I was supposed to have chicken in it??? I’m a frugal college student and this is by far the worst purchase I made of the school year for food. I would rather get Chipotle, they give you extra everything with no extra costs and it’s so, so much cheaper. it may not be real Mexican food, but Ramona’s didn’t taste authentic either. sorry, you won’t be seeing me again.

Okay 10.00 dollars for a Burrito and Coke NO Way. I have been eating from this place for years but haven’t had it in a while. I WILLNEVERRETURN. This place has gone down hill dirty restaurant and the price for a burrito is crazy and not worth it. These people are ripping off the community and almost all Ramona’s are located in low poverty areas. stop supporting this company. I cannot not believe people still eat here

Great food but man this is retarded prices. Its $ 6.25 and its 0.95 for cheese so every burrito is $ 7.20 essentially. It also shrank over the years. I have coming here for20 years plus. This is way to expensive and I’m not coming back anymore. If you look now there’s no one in there anymore since its so expensive

While service was nice and this is one of the better Ramona’s locations, the food was pretty bad. Like Taco Bell bad, the beef and potato kind of like dog food, I got an order of the taquitos and it was just not good. Not really a fan of the red or green sauce either, glad I didn’t get more, won’t be back.

Meh. Wth?!! A «friend» of mine always said good things about Ramona’s. I looked at the menu, annoyed cuz there was no Carnitas in sight. Really?!! You’ve been around since ’47, and no Carnitas?! Anyways, ordered a beef and potato burrito wet, and the loaded nachos with beef. I was disappointed. No flavor, whatsoever, except the red sauce and sour cream on top. Seriously had to put salt and pepper on it, plus Tapatio. It was a decent size, but not worth $ 8. Bf’s nachos were the same. 1 star for food and 1 star for the employees, as they were super efficient and friendly. The employees are worth more than a star, but these reviews are solely based on food.

Service is infamously bad at this place but its all about the food right? I love their food! Beef and potato burrito or the chicken burrito are great, choose either beans and/or rice to be included in your burrito and if you want hot sauce. Personally they could use a makeover but the public doesn’t care because they still come in for the addictive comida. If you like soft warm burritos with relatively no definition of the food, just a blob of meat rice and beans wrapped in a delicious tortilla, you should give it a try. Their prices went up which is disappointing. But they can control the market with a delicious product. I come in once a week. They own me But service sucks, owner needs to reevaluate
