Please come baaaaaack!!! I’m literally tearing up. This was my go to place and what I looked forward to the most on a lazy weekend. Nothing made my wife and I more happy than a chirashi bowl filled with fresh Uni and large slabs of succulent salmon and beet red tuna. And as a tradition of ours we would bring it with us to Torrance beach and eat it while enjoying the waves while our son plays in the sand. We will miss you, but enjoy your retirement. 私たちは、あなたが残して見ることは非常に悲しいです

This place is now closed down but I wanted to leave a parting review! They basically retired and some of them are moving back to Japan. This is pretty much the best take out sushi place I’ve had. The prices were amazing, the portions were amazing, the fish was fresh and delicious, the rice was seasoned perfectly, you get huge chunks of fish, everything about it was perfect in my eyes. I am heartbroken to see them go.

Fresh sushi for take out at this little gem inside the Marukai Japanese market. The chirashi bowls are packed with rice and your choice of assorted fish. I usually get the uni Ikura don; or just opt for the uni over rice by itself. I seriously can’t get enough of the sea urchin, though I’d suggest getting there early because they have sold out on occasion. They make your order when you place it so it’s not just sitting around all day.

Every time I’ve come here, it’s always closed –__– The first time, I got here 15 min before they’re supposed to close, and they told me they weren’t making anything more. The second time(today), there was a sign saying they were closed with no explanation. I still want to try this place out bc of the great reviews, but you’re running out of chances…

Wow! It takes a second to figure out the system, you can order from the counter or grab the pre made. The sushi was great! Good portions and fare prices. This will be my new go to when I’m on this side of town.

I usually get the #1, Tokusen Chirashi Don. Just like the other Unilocalers, I have to agree that the sashimi slices are huge! It’s double the size and it’s very fresh. I suggest you call in your order first since it may take awhile to make. That way, you don’t have to wait around unless, you don’t mind waiting for 30 minutes. Make sure on the weekend you call first because they may close early around 3pm to fulfill the customers phone reservation orders i.e. party platters. Just a FYI, this is a take out place located inside Marukai. Therefore, for a take out sushi, the price/quality are very good. I know some of the reviews mentioned that it’s ok quality, but come on, this is a take-out and for the price he charges, its so worth it! It’s a lot better than Sushi Boy.

To-go only! I knew I might have discovered something special when I saw some elder Asian sushi chefs switching off on their shifts to continue serving up some beautiful sushi art. For around $ 8 – 14 you can get your choice of sushi combinations including nigiri, uni, etc. I normally go for their chirashi which requires no filters on Instagram and forces users to double tap that heart on their screens. All the pieces of sushi are quite generous and thick and for that — I will always make this my to-go sushi spot.

This place gets 4 stars because the prices are amazing for what you get. $ 12 will get you a salmon uni don. $ 14 will get you a nigiri special with 12 pieces, can’t beat that! The sashimi pieces are cut thick and generously, no thin flimsy slices. It is not the best quality of fish but it’s better than any other sushi for this price and good enough to satisfy any sashimi or nigiri cravings.

After lunch at Maruhide Uni Club, I came here for more uni. Because can you really ever have enough? Besides I wanted to check out this stand inside the Marukai Market. It’s located on your left-hand side near the front when you walk in. I decided on the #12UNIIKURADON. For $ 13 I got a good amount of sea urchin and salmon roe over sushi rice, and it came packaged perfectly for takeaway. My friend bought some roasted chestnuts from another vendor inside the market and we headed to the coastal trail by Trump National Golf Course for a picnic. Perfection!

Idk, maybe the reviews got my hopes up… This place was not that great for me. I mean, for a to-go place located inside of Marukai, it’s not that bad! Hence, 3 stars. But the quality? Not there… I got a fatty salmon + uni bowl. It’s not on the menu; you have to ask for it. $ 13.50. The salmon was very fatty, yes. But wauuu. No flavor whatsoever to be found. None of it melted in my mouth. I actually expected amazing salmon and«mehhh» uni because salmon is pretty solid almost everywhere. Surprisingly, the uni was a little(just a tad) better than«meh» and the salmon was like BLAH. Yeah, I know. I have an amazing use of words. The uni wasn’t half bad, which made me a little happy. The sushi rice was pretty bland. I also bought one of the pre-packaged spicy tuna rolls, which I enjoyed! I like that they put avocado in them. Most places put cucumber, which I like too. BTW you cannot buy anything from Marukai at the cashier of Morizo. I wanted to buy this yummy-looking coffee drink that was nearby but the lady said no :( And I was too lazy to wait in line for Marukai’s cashiers so… yeah. Thirst. Hm. It’s a lot cheaper than other places for sure, but honestly… fish is all about the quality and I’d rather go spend a little more somewhere else and eat my uni and salmon and etc satisfyingly. Most likely won’t come back again but will recommend to others who are looking for a cheaper alternative.

Solid chirashi joint! This place is eerily reminiscent of our favorite quick raw fish bowl place in Tokyo — fish + rice for 500 yen. The prices are insanely reasonable for the amount of thick fresh cuts of fish they give you. My $ 10 chirashi bowl is comparable to a $ 20 one I paid at a restaurant a couple nights before. On their menu, they have about 14 choices of different raw fish-rice combos. Bowls run from $ 7-$ 14 depending on what type of fish you want(cheapest is $ 7 for spicy tuna on sushi rice, $ 14 for just uni on sushi rice). Bf got the #1 — $ 11 for a variety of fish. I got the #5 — $ 10 for 3 slices each of tuna, salmon and yellow tail. The fish and rice was both scrumptious. They also have rolls, nigiri and party platters(order in advance). — Located inside Marukai Market(same plaza as Daiso) — Strictly take out only place(no seats anywhere) — takes Visa/MC — call ahead to place your order if you don’t want to wait — parking: easy — large shared lot

A HIDDENGEM! WOW. I have walked by this place countless of times. I am so disappointed in myself that I have neglected this place for so long. Morizo Sushi Kaisen actually offers good quality sushi for a great price! FOOD: I ordered the fatty salmon bowl($ 10) and my boyfriend got the tokusen chirashi don($ 11). All made to order by the way. My fatty salmon bowl was amazing. Thick cuts of fresh salmon! The salmon melted in my mouth and they give you 8 generous pieces. The pieces of salmon were placed on a bed of sushi rice. 5⁄5 The tokusen chirashi consisted of various pieces of sashimi including: tuna, salmon, salmon roe, egg, seaweed salad, fish cake, shrimp, crab meat, squid, and yellowtail. 5⁄5 I love how quickly they make all the sushi to order. They’re all extremely friendly as well! I have never been to such a delicious sushi take out place. A great place for lunch! You will definitely be seeing me here more often.

It’s no Maruhide Uni Club, but it definitely satiates the craving without the hassle of a long waiting list. Don’t be deterred by the to-go sushi feel, the seafood is super fresh. Being the uni/ikura lover I am, I had to get the best of both worlds with the ikura uni don. The uni has the same richness and quality as some of the freshest uni I’ve had elsewhere. They also give you a ton of ikura here and, similarly to the uni, it was comparable to some of the best I’ve ever had. I can only assume that the same quality goes for the other options of fish here. I’m definitely excited to try the tuna and salmon on my next visit. The prices here are somewhat steep, but reasonable for the quality. About $ 13 for my ikura uni don and most of the items will cost you upwards of $ 10+. For that price, I would definitely try to make my way over to Maruhide, but like I said, this place is perfect for those that don’t have the time to wait. They also have pre-made sushi available, which was tempting; the salmon-avocado roll looked amazing. Although it lacks the flair, the quality is definitely all there; would recommend any sushi-lover to give this place a try.

Morizo Sushi Kaisen is actually pretty good for a take-out place. I got uni and fatty salmon bowl for $ 13.50 and I wasn’t disappointed. Located inside Marukai supermarket, there are no seats at this take-out place only. My uni was not the best uni, but it was good and sweet. My bowl came with tamago, wasabi and ginger. I give 3 Fs to this place: FRESH! FAST! FRIENDLY! Grab ice from the market to keep the freshness of your fish. Party platters are also available but you need to call in advance to reserve your order. 4 stars! I still prefer eating at Maruhide Uni Club but I prefer this than other take-out places. Morizo Sushi Kaisen is yummylicious!

When at Marukai, resist the urge to buy pre-packaged sushi in the fridge in the front of the store. Once you pass that mediocre sushi, you will find a tiny mom and pop shop located in the corner of the store. The food may take a bit, but you can either walk around Marukai or walk next door to Daiso. There is plenty to do. FOOD * The best part: EVERYTHING. I got the chirashi bowl, and there were copious amounts of fish and rice. The fish was cut super thick, and the rice was perfectly moist and flavorful. Now, I would much rather choose bowls over rolls. Hands down. * The worst part: I accidentally bit into my tongue thinking it was a piece of tuna. That’s how thick the fish is. Tooootally worth the 4 day long pain.

Located in the Mirukai Market is a gem of a sushi stand. The menu features fresh nigiri, cut rolls, and sashimi dons. The fish quality is amazing for the prices– I got the uni don for $ 14 and the fatty salmon don for $ 10. Such a steal! The portion sizes are super generous and the sashimi cuts are thick and very fresh. The lady working the stand is so sweet and while there was a little bit of a wait for the food to be prepared, appreciate that the food is made to order instead of being pre-made/packaged. Plus, Mirukai is so fun to peruse in the meantime, so the wait seems like nothing. I will definitely be back soon to get my quick fix of affordable and fresh sashimi!

Stroll through the market, pick up some frozen gyoza, miso paste, udon noodles, oh … ANDSOMEOFTHETASTIESTFISHYOUWILLFINDANYWHERE! I use to always grab a box of pre-packed nigri to munch on in the car on my way home… until one day… As if in a dream… a shaft of light broke through the haze to illuminate 2 words that would forever change my life… «KAISENDON»(insert heavenly sound effects) This bowl of sea-parting goodness features the most delicately sweet, savory rice topped with sprawling, fresh, silky pieces of the oceans finest gifts(tuna, salmon, sea urchin, salmon roe and garnish) ANDALLFORUNDER15 Bucks! There was no looking back. I was then, and am forever in love. If you ever see a suspicious man sitting on the curb with a chirashi bowl, sipping a Kigen sunrise ale — avoid him, he will defend his fish! BONUS: Unlike most sushi places their hours are very open! This is the earliest you can eat sushi pretty much anywhere!

Massive slices. That’s the first thing I have to get out of the way. They are a tiny take out counter tucked to the far left of Marukai when you enter the market. I had walked right past it and didn’t even notice. For $ 12, I got a mixed chirashi rice, with uni. A lot of uni. And a lot of red/white tuna, salmon, ikura and tamago. The fish was fresh and filling. I recommend sharing this with someone. That makes it only $ 6 per person! Since it’s a take out spot, there isn’t anywhere to sit and dine, so we traveled with it all the way back north before we could eat it. STILL was fresh. I would eat here everyday if I lived closer.

For a place inside of market, you’d expect some mediocre to terrible sushi. Most sushi-in-market places will just provide rolls with silly names and a bargain price, just good quality nigiri to go here. For the price, the quality here is pretty stellar. This is right up there in terms of quality with the sushi stand in Mitsuwa(totally blank on the name) I may be bit biased, but any place that has legit uni will get at least 3 stars out of me.
