Ended my day here last night and had the most funnest time with my cousins. I’ve never been here before — prior to karaōke we had a little too much to drink and made the smartest decision of coming here(of course we had a designated driver). We spent about 2 hours singing and it was, «LITAF.» Hahah, they had all the hits. From today’s new joints to oldies and throwbacks. Who else can go from Ye, Justin Bieber, Drake, Fetty Wap, Asap Rocky, Sam Smith to Guns N Roses, Fleetwood Mac, Elton John, Boyz II Men and numbers from musicals? All in all, great music selection with great company.

−−13÷100 reviews for 2016– I’m sorry. I don’t really like this karaōke spot. Usually i’m not too picky, but just the ambiance and experience was not great for me. Their rooms are small and the chairs are awkwardly placed. The employees were giving us a difficult time at first with how long we were going to stay. We asked if we could just do an hour and then come out and tell them if we could go longer, but they said we had to tell them a specific time like, 5 hours and then actually stay for 3 of those hours. We were just a bit confused, because we thought we’d have to pay for the 5 hours, but I guess we somehow managed to straighten and work it out. So a party of 7 of us came in on a Monday night and it was about $ 6.50 /person. They did not serve alcohol, so my friends decided to bring some beer and they charged us $ 1 more per person for bringing our own booze. Interesting. This is by far THEONLY karaōke studio I know that doesn’t serve alcohol to their guests. Pro: They have iPads along with the standard karaōke books to choose from. The iPad app made it a little easier to input songs, change keys, and find the top 10 songs. They have snacks available for purchase in the front. Con: I wish instead of having to search bar other songs by their titles or artists, there would be an alphabetical list of song titles and artists. I also wished they had more songs in their song books. Add some tagalog songs maybe since you’re near Carson and Filipinos slay at karaōke. Serve food and alcohol please! :) My karaōke-singing heart belongs to ASTROS Karaōke in Lomita since they always fit my needs. They just happened to be closed that day. Womp.

They claim to have Chinese karaōke but you can’t turn off the voice part. It’s not karaōke if you can hear the voice part.

My bf and I frequent this place. Prices are great, employees are chill, song selection is good, sound system is also good. We have fun, we leave. No muss, no fuss. Will always recommend it!

Although I had a really freaking great time… and then I seem a roach crawling towards me on the mirror! I literally seen my life flash! That would be my only complain! Control the Rochas *because no one wants to take roaches home* and I’ll be back!

I gave them a 3 because of these reasons: 1. Expensive 2. No alcohol or food allowed Our group was 6 people & although only 3 out of the 6 were actually singing they still charge per person. I never paid this much to sing. After two hours my Friends & I ended up paying 120 dollars. No alcohol rule sucks because we all know when you’re under influence you have more fun & you tend to open up more & socialize. They do have a good selection of songs. Unfortunately this will not make me come back to this place

This place is pretty awesome. Although not very swanky(pls, everyone knows the nondescript places are the best), you get a lot of bang for your buck here if you come during the right time. Their songs are fairly up to date(the Japanese songs anyway, I wouldn’t know for other language songs…) and the girl working the counter up front was friendly and chill. They had a poster for the Love Live movie hung up at the front and I asked her if I could buy it or take it, and she said that someone already had dibs on it. bummer. So I’m a huge karaōke buff, and this place might not be flashy or anything but it is among one of the better places I’ve been to in 2 different countries and 4 states in the US, if not #2(number one goes to Genji’s in Houston, I go there fairly regularly but it is PRICY). I came here with two friends for an offkai, and had a great time! although they didn’t have water??? not sure if you have to ask up front, but I’m used to karaōke places having water in the room for you. well, whatever, it wasn’t a HUGE deal since I had brought my own water. Towards the end, I think our Joysound control ran out of batteries… what really makes this place great is the $ 5/hr happy hour that lasts until 8pm. We stayed there for almost 5 hours and it ended up being super cheap per person. I’m not sure if I would have the same opinion of this place if I had come during the evening on a weekend, but for those weekdays when you have time, not much spare money and just wanna scream your lungs out, can’t beat it. Oh yeah, their restrooms only have one toilet per gender division.

This place is pretty cool. Whenever I visit my friend in the area this is on our«to do» list because we take our karaōke pretty seriously. That being said, here’s what you should know about Max Karaōke: — Great selection of English songs, from old favorites to new stuff that’s on the radio. My friends and I rapped to Fetty Wap’s «Trap Queen» and belted our hearts out to Meghan Trainor’s «Dear Future Husband.» Hahaha — All lyrics and no music videos. While the song selection is good, the karaōke system is one of those old ones that only show the lyrics on screen and there aren’t any music videos that play along, not even funny mismatching ones. :/ — There is a small additional charge when you bring in your own food and drinks, and you don’t manage to sneak it in. — Cool that it’s located in the same plaza as an 85° Bakery!

Pretty ok. I don’t know if its the time I went but it looks like a lot of drunk groups go here.(is that the reason the men’s restroom flood was really wet?) The people that work there don’t care if you take drinks or food to the room. I wish they had more songs I was looking for but they do have a pretty large selection and the device is pretty cool.

For a first timer at a karaōke place, wasn’t a very good experience. Had a fun time during the time given, but when it was time to pay, it was a bit of a hassle just because we were trying to figure out why they had charged EACH of us for having food and drink in the booth.(There were over 7 of us) and they charge a fee for each of us. Wasn’t a great first time choice. Maybe if I return on a better day I will give a higher rate next time.

Not only did they have songs for other ethnicity’s they had a ton of American songs. So pretty much it’s great fun for everyone. Come during Happy Hour though it’s cheaper. 1 – 8 Happy hour everyday.

This place is so much fun and affordable. Songs are up to date and you can bring your own beer. They close late too. I lost my voice but we enjoyed it.

Just went there last night with my friend. they updated their technology from the big bulky remotes to IPADs. Pros: the IPADS make searching for songs easier. Cons: the fact that the IPADS are like remote controls, possibly could have someone in next room delete your song list. I think when the room next to ours became occupied, they inadvertently deleted our songs on the play list. It was funny cause a song would que up and then delete itself, then the next, then next, but then some songs would play for 10 seconds or so and then delete itself! I jokingly said to my friend, «Maybe our singing is so bad, the computer deleted it for us!» As if to also say that the computer was randomly deleting the higher pitched songs and decided, nah you girls can’t sing that high of a note. Anyway, the guy at the front was nice enough to not charge for that portion of time. The rooms are fairly nice sized with pleather couches and big speakers. The mics are land wired to the machine, so intertwining of cords may happen. You can buy some drinks or snacks at the front and bring to the room, which is nice. The bathrooms could use more upkeep, but who goes to sing at a place because of nice bathrooms? I just wanted to comment on that though. They have a wide array of selections for English songs, however, I think their specialty is Japanese and Mandarin songs. We only utilized the English playlist. Overall, I like this place for the purpose. To have fun and there’s not a long wait when we go. They do have specials for 2 to a room or certain time frames — you’d have to check with the business.

Not a fancy spot but gets the job done. Seemed clean to me just not modern or updated. We had a great time either way. Did a birthday hang here last night for a friend of mine. We brought in decorations to may the place look nicer/more fun. You can get your own room and hang. You can run in and out as necessary. We had food delivered there as well. I think they have drinks and some food but unclear. It is an extra $/person to bring food in. We did a pot luck and it worked out. They don’t serve alcohol and don’t want to see alcohol brought in. PS they don’t check the rooms while you are in them. We brought them in bags and had paper cups. That seemed to be the understanding. FYI — make sure that as your friends are leaving they’re telling the front desk of this. Or you go and tell them. You will be charged for them per hour if you do not do this. It wasn’t told to us until we got the bill. Def understandable on their part. Just keep an eye out for it. Weekday and weekend rates are different. I could see myself going again at some point.

Remote system not really working good… Some songs had no music… We needed recorder machine, but they did not have in each room. That is extra charge… Machines seemed different from before… I might try them again…

Where do I start this review? 1. The system was outdated with tiny screens. 2. No alcohol. 3. It seemed like the karaōke songs/videos were ripped off of YouTube. 4. The restrooms were dirty. The staff was very friendly though, and we were allowed to bring our own food in with a dollar charged per person. Cost was $ 32/hour.

What a cool concept! This place has a bunch of semi-private rooms of different sizes, so you and your friends can have your own karaōke party. The rooms have seating, a karaōke system, and that’s about it. You can bring in your own drinks for $ 1 more per person. Semi-private rooms because they all have windows so people can see in, and they aren’t very soundproof. It definitely feels a little run down in there, and when we went the hallways smelled like weed, but it was a really fun way to spend a birthday night!

Went here last time with some friends and had a great time! So fun to have a room to ourselves to sing our hearts out. They have a massive song collection, from oldies to very current. Definitely recommend this place.

I used to think there was absolutely nothing to do in Torrance at night. I stand corrected. There is one thing to do in Torrance at night. You can sing about how there is absolutely nothing to do in Torrance at night. No really, Max’s has a decent song selection, and all your standard«Livin’ on a Prayer» songs are there you don’t stop believin’ before the end of the night. They don’t sell alcohol, but you’re welcome to bring your own, which I highly insist upon. After all, isn’t it kind of required if you’re going to belt out ballads in front of people you may have face in the morning? We came here for a coworker’s birthday, and I had to leave early, but quality over quantity, right? For the short time I spent here, all that time was quality. This place is just plain fun, and whether you have the pipes, think you have the pipes, or only have the pipes according to your mother, come to karaōke, you won’t regret a night at Max… though I can’t speak for those who heard you sing…

Whenever I come here, this place always has a room open. The service is courteous and they want you and your group to have a great time. They sell snacks and drinks at the front(no alcohol), but they let you bring in your own. They have a great selection of English songs and update their books to keep up with the mainstream music. Mics and speakers work fine, but I do wish they added different lights or a disco ball in the room. Stop by this place if you’re in the area and looking for a fun place after some dinner and drinks.
