Thank god for Unilocal and thank god for Hugo’s! In town for business and this place hit all of the right buttons. Fast, clean, and delicious food. The guys working were all personable and helpful. I had the hot corned beef on rye with spicy mustard, pickles, and Swiss cheese. Potato salad for the side. Very satisfying in every way. Definitely recommended!

I love their Turkey wrap, the sauces mix so well. My boyfriend got the Tri-top sandwich and he said it was good as well. Everything is always fresh and they also have great customer service.

We were very pleasantly surprised by this place! We live very close by & I’ve seen positive reviews on Unilocal but just hadn’t tried it until today. We split a hot pastrami & a bag of chips for a little lunch/snack & it was very tasty! I liked that the pastrami wasn’t fatty & was full of savory umami flavor. We will definitely be back to try more sandwiches from here

Based on the reviews, I decided to come into Hugo’s Deli. It’s in a nondescript building on Madrona and Torrance(near the gas station). It doesn’t look like much pulling up, but based on the line it’s obvious this place has a lot of fans. On the menu the Turkey Harvati Panini was described as having«less sodium» so I decided to go with that. First bite I got I could definitely tell the difference. I never had Turkey like that before! The whole sandwich tasted like it had very high quality ingredients and(kid you not) every bite was splendid. It came with a side of macaroni salad. It was a nice addition but it was just okay. The selection of chips they have are good as well. I forget the brand, but they aren’t the run of the mill Ruffles, Fritos, etc. Again I felt they were higher quality. Overall the food from this place is awesome, i just wish they were in a bigger or better location!

Hugo the owner is awesome! I couldn’t decide on macaroni or potato salad with our sandwiches, so he gave us both free of charge! Hot pastrami was delicious! Nice little local deli.

I saw Hugo’s Deli on Unilocal,or else I’d never have found it. It’s tucked away in a mini mall, and is almost impossible to see from Torrance Blvd or Madrona. I decided to give Hugo’s a try. Since the reviews said the place was small, I thought there might be lunch rush. I order the italian sandwich it was good not chain type sandwich. It came with potato salad it was good. I like my potato salad with a good balance of mayo and mustard it was on point. I like this place and they use Boar’s Head meats. I will be back…

My husband brought home sandwiches from Hugo’s Deli a few months ago and it was so delicious! We have been hooked to Hugo’s Deli since. Honestly, they have the best deli sandwiches we’ve ever had. Their deli meat is fresh and their French roll bread is my favorite with their sandwiches. They have tasty homemade macaroni it potato salads you can get with your meal. I love their assortment of bottled drinks as well! Everything is delicious, you will not be disappointed. We live in south east Torrance and we make the 10 minute drive that is out of the way often for pickup because it’s worth it! Hugo, the owner is so nice and friendly; the entire staff too. Great family owned businesses! We love supporting small businesses in the area. :)

First timer… I had the new spicy Thai wrap, it was delicious! The service is fast and friendly. I really like the chip variety they offer as well. They offer a few hot and cold sandwich options, salads, & wraps, with a side of potato salad or macaroni salad(the mac salad is my fave). The menu isn’t too big, which means they specialize in what they do offer.

Me and my friend stopped by to grab some lunch one day and we weren’t disappointed. The sandwiches were tasty and at a decent price. My favorite aspect of this establishment was the customer service. The young lady with blonde hair was very courteous and friendly. I would definitely eat here again. 5 stars.

Great place to stop for a delicious, quick lunch while serving jury duty at the Torrance courthouse. Hugo and staff were incredibly friendly and service was fast and tasty!

The Harvarti panini was simply scrumptious. The sandwich options cost anywhere between $ 7-$ 8. Each of the sandwiches comes either with a small cup of potato or macaroni salad. The potato chip options are even super delicious. And to top it off, the owners are very amiable and easy-going. The only downside is that there aren’t too many chairs to eat, but since the restaurant is tucked away in a small plaza, there doesn’t seem to be many people.

TURKEYHARVATIPANINI, that’s wassup. +Hugo’s deli is located in a smalllll plaza on Madrona & Torrance Blvd next to Valero gas station. The deli is located to the left side of Valero gas station if you’re facing North so if you’re going down Torrance towards the beach, pass Valero gas station and make a right into the plaza. Hopefully this helps because I had a bit of hard time finding the location! Parkings available. +I placed my order around 12PM and was planning to head to Hugo’s right away but since I passed it, I ended up going to Del Amo mall first to do my errand to return an item and then dropped by Hugo’s to pick up my lunch. Hugo’s told me my lunch was going to be ready in 10 – 15 minutes but I ended up getting to Hugo’s around 12:45PM and they had my turkey harvati panini wrapped in a foil and on the panini machine to keep it warm! Not to mention they cashier tried to make a small talk and it was nice since I felt like they try to get to know their customer at a personal level. Not many places have service like this any more. Thumbs up! +Hugo’s service was fantastic but their turkey harvati panini was even more amazinggggggggggg! Ohmygod I don’t know why I didn’t visit Hugo’s earlier. Hugo’s uses boar’s head 46% lower sodium turkey, which is awesome and slightly healthier option. The harvati cheese was nicely melted on yummy sourdough bread with delicious basil pesto spread and aioli chipotle sauce on sheet of mixed greens and tomatoes. Oh gosh everything about this panini was so glorious. Just thinking about their painni makes me want to jump in my car and pick one up right now! No complaints so far, can’t wait to try their infinity wrap that seems to be also super popular.

Ok I ordered online and when I got there my food was not even done even though I arrived 30min later instead of 20min which thats the time I told them. Waited about 10 min for my food, I think service can be alot better especially when I was the only one there. But I have to say the turkey wrap is very delicious!!! The seasoning is amazing!!!

Hugo’s has quickly become my go-to place for a sandwich. Each one I’ve had is really delicious made from fresh ingredients. The guys who work there are so friendly and inviting. They make an effort to say«thank you Amy» when I’m paying, which is such a nice touch. They just seem really eager to please with great food and a neighborly atmosphere. Oh, and if you like unique sodas and chips, definitely check out their selection. Hmmm, now I’m getting hungry :)

Hugo’s Deli is great. It’s tucked away in a pretty nondescript strip mall – you’d never notice it from the street so it’s a good thing it stands out on Unilocal! Right away, gotta say that the service is excellent. I’ve been three times, and after just the first time, Hugo remembered my name! As for the sandwiches, really delicious! A little pricey but I’d say you get what you pay for. Tried the turkey panini but was particularly impressed with the«New Italian» sub. YUM!

They made me a special sandwich with the combination of pastrami and corned beed. omg I just drooled thinking about it. Soo good. Seems like a pretty legit little hole in the wall for a good deli sandwich. I will say that this place was like an oven when I walked in, so maybe take your sammich to go.

Casual dining. Great to come with friends or quick lunch. Hugo, the owner, always makes you feel like you’re part of the community. He’s super personable. I’ve had different sandwiches, but their hot pastrami is the best. They have unique sodas and chips. Homemade macaroni and potato salad is great. Lot’s of free parking. Hidden in the corner of an unassuming strip mall.

This place is a hidden gem and my new go-to when I’m craving a sandwich. It’s in a strip mall off of Torrance Blvd and Madrona(next to the Valero that I loathe :-)). First off, the service is great — super friendly and welcoming staff. The place is small with limited tables, no frills from a design perspective but clean, tidy and comfortable. Whenever I can, I try and support Mom & Pop businesses like Hugo’s over corporate chains. Not only does it keep money in the neighborhood but the service and food quality is generally much higher. This place smashes the Subway(which is less than a block away) and is definitely as convenient. The guys at Hugo’s can crank out of the sandwiches, never a wait. I have been to Hugo’s a handful of times and I love the Turkey Panini; Boars Head turkey, creamy Harviti Cheese, Chipotle Mayo, Pesto, Mixed Greens and Tomato on Sourdough. You get a little side of Potato Salad or Macaroni salad as well. Super tasty and about 10-bucks with chips and a drink, which is very comparable to other local chains. I have been meaning to try some of their other hot subs as well — they have a hot Pastrami, Roast beef and a Meatball sub and they’re all on my «Hit List.» When I give them a shot, I’ll be sure to update my review. While their menu is fairly robust, I’m sure they’ll make you whatever you request. SHOPLOCAL — THISGIVETHISPLACE A TRY!
