I was on my way to nearby Yogurtland when I decided to make a quick stop at the Vons market to buy some milk. I hadn’t been to this Vons since they remodeled and I found my way checking out the mini food court in there. As I was on my way to look at the Panda Express, a guy with a tray of mini sample cups front of Golden Spoon smiles at me and says«Miss, would you like to try a sample of our yogurt? We have 8 flavors.» And so my Golden Spoon Frozen Yogurt experience begins. I look at the 8 different flavors they’re offering and some of them catch my eye. The ones I noticed were: peanut butter, cake batter, red velvet and carrot cake. I first ask for a sample of red velvet. I like red velvet cupakes and red velvet cake but for some reason I’m not too big of a fan of red velvet frozen yogurt. This one at Golden Spoon was alright but not enough to turn me into a red velvet fro-yo fan. The guy at the counter asked if I wanted to try something else and so I asked if I could sample the carrot cake. Ahh as soon as I tried the carrot cake, I knew this was the one I wanted to buy. I like carrot cake and it was the first time ever that I’ve ever tried carrot cake frozen yogurt. This fro-yo just had the perfect touch of carrot cake flavor. It was super yummy. The guy at the counter asked if I wanted to get any toppings and when I said no, he added more yogurt into the cup =D. I only bought a mini which is $ 2. The mini is for a 4 oz cup that fills up to 6 oz of yogurt. The guy working there gave me a lot of yogurt and so it may have been more. It was such a great and yummy deal! Yay! This was a totally unplanned fro-yo experience at Golden Spoon but it was great! Yay for Golden Spoon and yay for carrot cake yogurt, one of my new favorite flavors :).

Golden Spoon was probably the first frozen yogurt I had ever had. And this was probably 15+ years ago back in Lake Forest where I grew up. Back then, they still had a wide variety of flavors, but the textures have greatly improved since then. Golden Spoon is a pretty large chain in So Cal and they are all basically the same(minus the flavor selection, which varies at each location). I used to get a cup of yogurt with toppings and eat it on the spot. These days, I get a quart or two to go and get my «quarts club» cards stamped(buy 8 quarts, get one free). I think this is the best deal and it’s definitely the cheapest quart price I know of in the area. I really enjoy the red velvet cake, peanut butter cup, graham cracker, and standard chocolate. My wife likes vanilla, cake batter, and cookies and cream. The textures of all of these are really creamy and soft. But most of them are fat free. It’s a great lo-cal dessert option. As for someone’s complaint about service in a previous review, it can happen but out of the 10+ times I have been to this Golden Spoon(or any Golden Spoon for that matter), I have never had an issue service quality. Summary: Good selection. Great prices. Awesome textures. This is not like Pink Berry. It’s real froyo. Get the quarts with the quarts club card and do your own toppings on the cheap at home.

This is «ok» fro-yo in the Von’s Supermarket. But i’m also biased as I prefer the self-serve kind. The fro-yo tastes more like soft serve ice cream and TCBY rather than the tart and unique flavor of the new fro-yo stores popping up everywhere. Like ice-cream, it is definitely a lot more creamier. Although it’s non-fat, there are no sugar-free options. Not my fav but it’s a decent standby while I’m waiting for my fiancé at the checkout stand.

It’s good but not great(see review on Yummy Yogurt). The flavors at this location never seem to change. It’s always the same stuff and for that reason it lost a star.

Golden Spoon Frozen Yogurt isn’t your«typical» trendy yogurt places like pinkberry, cefiore, yogurtland, etc. That’s what I expected it to be like when I first came here to try it. Unlike other yogurt places, their yogurt taste more like ice cream than anything else. They offer variety of flavors from vanilla, strawberry, coffee, etc. Since I’m a huge fan of pinkberry and cefiore, I didn’t really like Golden Spoon. I don’t really have any complaints! My sister had a free yogurt coupon! And the cashier was super nice, and even gave us a stamp card and we didn’t buy anything! But I wouldn’t fork out my own money to buy their yogurt tho.

I liked the idea of having Golden Spoon in a food court atmosphere. They don’t really need that much of a space and only need a few tables to operate. I was excited to see a brand new Golden Spoon opened up at inside of Von’s supermarket at intersection of Crenshaw Blvd and Lomita Blvd. Already inside of this supermarket consist of a Panda Express, Starbucks and a few DVD rental machine. It seemed like a hub for a quick take outs after grocery shopping. Since I was a teen, I had always been a fan of Golden Spoon yogurts. They are as OG as Penguin’s yogurt. Very creamy and thick. Their yogurt may not be as tangy as Pinkberry’s or as sweet as Red Mango’s. They relied more of different flavors and taste for their yogurt than the others. One big appreciation I also always have of Golden Spoon was their yogurt also tend to have less sugar and many different flavors. At the day of the visit, they have at least 8 different flavors. Mostly fruit flavors like Raspberry and strawberry. They also have many different types of chocolate or vanilla flavors. Once in a while, they will churned out different holiday flavors or season flavors you just don’t get at anywhere else. They tend to keep you on the toes on what they will have as they changed their flavors at the machine often. My guess is that they probably changed once they ran out of that certain flavor and changed in a new flavor to replace it. It’s nice little cozy place in Von’s where they have four tables and their own little area right in front of the check out lines. They have a very good prime spot to attract the crowd. The only thing you might have to watch out for is the shopping carts as they tend to be left everywhere by the shoppers blocking your view of the toppings. Oh thank goodness, the fruits were cut well as I can’t stand sloppy cuts!
