Went around 740PM for dinner and tried all u can eat bbq. Not many choices in veggies. Some of the veggies were not refilled. They didn’t have eggs ! First grill place with no eggs ! No sea food in meat section. The choices were ok I would say. My buddy ordered some sea food noodles n soup and he said it was good. May be I gotta consider menu order next time. For the price they are charging for dinner all u can eat, you would expect better choices but no. Will try bbq at other mongol places in torrance but not here again.

So happy that the original owners are back! And the food is restored to it previous glory!!! I stopped coming when they sold the place to new owners who mucked up the recipe. The food is once again delicious, the original owners are very gracious and hospitable.

I was looking for a decent Mongolian bbq place in the Torrance area. Glad I checked this place out. Good food at a fair price. Large portions and good service.

One of the two Mongolian AYCE spots I frequent in the fine city of Torrance. Although I normally go to Mongol King near PCH, this place has really done a good job with interior of their restaurant with the last renovation it went through. Revamped and ready to rock! The clean, well-lit, interior really brings a more modern feel compared to Mongol King. They also serve ramen here as well, now, which is a nice addition(unfortunately, there’s no AYCE option for that). All things considered the new interior with the option to enjoy ramen with your mongolian bbq dinner are things that are not available at Mongol King. The biggest selling point for Golden Camel is the fact that they have minced raw garlic. Shoot! To me, that’s a big game changer. It’s a real big pet peeve of mine that other places don’t have minced raw garlic you can put in your meal. Most other places will serve garlic flakes soaked in water, which neither tastes like garlic after you cook it nor does it have that signature cooked garlic texture, it mostly tastes like fried wood chips, phew! I am almost convinced to make my conversion to Golden Camel absolute, but I do miss Mongol King’s chicken broth based wonton soup, which is complementary with the meal, in endless quantities. In almost all other cases, I’d go to Golden Camel, but that soup is the deal breaker for me, and my reason why I come to Golden Camel every once in a while to indulge in the raw garlic. Comparisons: *Legend: GC — Golden Camel MK — Mongol King Meat quality: GC Cleanliness: GC Service: GC Menu choices: About the same Salad bar: MK Free Soup: MK Both come with cooked sesame buns Two free egg rolls with GC, but unlimited egg rolls at MK Overall, both restaurants have things I like about them, but if Golden Camel had the Mongol King soup, I’d rather eat at Golden Camel. Tip: I usually prepare my pre-cooked bowl of ingredients sans the noodles. I prefer to mix in the cooked rice with the cooked meats instead. Give it a try, it might be a game changer.

I’m sorry to say that my first time at Golden Camel wasn’t the greatest. Upon walking in there was a host stand but no one was there. I walked in further and the cook at the Mongolian grill kept saying to me BBQ or Ramen, BBQ or ramen — all while trying to cook what was on the grill. I then asked, do I have to choose one or the other? He then said all you can eat, pointed me towards the meat station and said, «one bowl». I chose a table and sat down. The place looked kind of new. According to the other reviews I just read, they were recently remodeled. No one came to greet me at the table and I proceeded to make a bowl for myself. Nothing special here, meat, veggies noodles and a small assortment of sauces. Made myself a bowl with pork, mushrooms, cilantro, onions, scallions, garlic, bean sprouts and celery. The counters around the round grill are sqaure and it isn’t clear where you should stand to wait for your turn at the grill. The chef took my bowl and I watched hi go round and round. The grill«looked» clean, but after my turn around the grill three times, my guess is the grill is either too hot or they haven’t scrapped the surface down in quite sometime. I got my cooked bowl and came back to my table to find a small egg roll with some ketchup and a glass of water. I sat down and then a bowl of rice was dropped off before I could ask for something to drink besides the water. There were no utensils at he table except for chopsticks. I found a server station and helped myself to a fork. i kept waiting for someone to stop by but no one ever did. I really needed something more to drink. The food had a slightly burnt taste to it. I suspect the heat is too high and not moving fast enough on the surface or they haven’t scraped down that grill in awhile. It was 10 minutes to closing and I was told last call. I quickly made another bowl and this time he put my food on the grill and he got distracted by another customer while my food sizzled in one spot. you can see all the smoke coming up. He went back to the ingredients and started his rounds. This bowl came out even tasting ore brunt to me. With ramen on the menu(what i really wanted) I’m assuming this is a hybrid Chinese/Japanese place? I will go back to try the ramen, but from some of the other reviews on here on the ramen side, I might to be cautious.

When a friend of mine told me the old owner is back and they remodeled oh you better believe I had to try it again, and I have to say WOW what a huge difference. First off when you walk in you’re greeted every time instead of just seating yourself. The new updated look is amazing, everything is clean and brand new! I understand you can put money into anything and make it look nice but to me it seems like the whole staff was retrained. Before the staff would rarely check to see if you needed anything(refills etc) but now they’re on top of refills, they’re smiling and just look like they like being here. I can’t recommend this place enough! Those of you who tried it before and didn’t like it I strongly urge you to try it again.

Had this random craving for Mongolian bbq tonight and decided to stop here on the way to the movies. It definitely hit the spot. Just like the places in the mall, they had the variety of meats and veggies with different sauces to flavor. Very fast and courteous service and the free bread they give you is really good

This is for Ko-Ryu review in this restaurant. First I won’t never ever go back here again. Before even food comes, spoons are dirty so as plate we asked was dirty too. Ramen was so horrible. I ordered Shacho Ramen with egg topping with Shumai combo. My friend ordered the same with Friend rice combo. OMG! The soup was horribly salty and not great at all and noodle is just nothing special. It’s like«Who likes this ramen??» kind of taste. Boiled egg was so tiny and tastes only cooking sake and again, who can make this tasted boiled egg so horribly. That was NOT ramen! Fried rice tastes absolutely nothing and we put soy sauce and pepper to fix the taste. Shumai was also nah! They need someone who can chopped onions firm. In fried rice and Shumai there are so many huge chunk of veggies. If you like their ramen, maybe you haven eaten for a week or you have no taste butt. If you are Japanese, don’t even think about going there please. Of cours you should taste for yourself to like or not like but I won’t pay any single penny for this ramen anymore. I’d rather eat Mongolian BBQ. One more thing, elder couple who serve food are so slow. I think they are nice but they got wrong job.

Tried Mongolian BBQ here. Average quality, little more instructions on sauces would have been helpful.

A favorite go-to place for my whole family. My son loves making his own bowl and we love that he is eating nothing deep-fried and lots of his favorite veggies. The place also just got a fantastic face-lift! Better than Big Wok, friendly people, and very good food.

Like Cher, I have been coming to the Golden Camel for over 20 years. I remember the original owners, who sold to a cousin probably 15 or so years ago. When that owner sold to another relative a few years ago, the whole experience slipped… the service went downhill, the food wasn’t as good of quality, etc. My parents and I went a month ago and saw it closed. Thank goodness for Cher’s review, because there wasn’t a sign saying they were remodeling. Anyway, called last night and they said they were open and the voice sounded familiar. We headed over and it was the old owner with a HUGE smile on his face. He greeted us with hugs and said the newer owner asked to sell it back to him. The place is totally remodeled and now has a fresh, modern look. Additionally, they have a new menu(you can still get Mongolian BBQ, but they have a ramen menu, too). Not only does the place look better, the quality of the food has improved and the veggies looked better than before. THRILLED that the Golden Camel is back in good hands. Stop in and let them know you’re happy he’s back. You won’t be disappointed!

I have been coming here since the early 90s, i love Golden Camel, absolutely love it. I’ve recommended this place to many friends over the years. A couple of years back the owner sold and decided to retire. Bad decision, at least for his loyal customers. The new owners totally let it go downhill. The food, service, quality, cleanliness wasn’t good at all and I stopped going. Saw the original. owner at a place called Ko-Ryu Ramen the beginning of 2015. Just so happens his son owners this establishment. I talked to him, told him«Come Back» to the Golden Camel it’s not the same anymore. His son tried to convince him too. A couple of weeks ago I got this nagging craving for Mongolian so I broke down and decided to give the new owners at Golden Camel one more shot to impress me. I walked in and who do I see, the original owner standing in front of me, big smile on his face. He came back… the Golden Camel is saved… the food was back to its normal, service was great, everything was clean i couldn’t have been happier… They will be closed till 1 or 2nd week of October, owner said he will be remodeling and really upgrading to make for a more impressive look. I can’t wait… If you want OUTSTANDING Mongolian BBQ with great friendly service, i highly recommend Golden Camel, the owner will treat uou right and makes u feel. like family WELCOMEBACK…

I know people who have been coming here for over 20 years. Camel had added Taiwanese dishes for those times when you don’t want bbq. For some reason, it lacked something(personal service) recently, and I couldn’t put my finger on it. I heard that it was sold outside of the family a few years ago. But I heard they bought it back! Great news for us regulars!

This is a place where your expectations are lowered right at the front entrance. It looks a bit dirty, non-maintained…but the last week was serving us was very nice. If just had a feeling of… sticky and gross. I decided to skip meat, and just had veggies and noodles… and it was tasty. I mean… you can’t really mess up noodles, veg, salt and oil. Is just that looking at signs of dirt everywhere… makes me not want to go back there.

Kind of sad, food is still good I’ve been going there on and off for over ten years but the most recent change in ownership has left a lot to be desired. Got iced tea with about three small cubes, had to ask for our bread no less than three times, never even offered us the egg drop soup and when we sat down(three of us) there was only one set up and they never brought the other two. Had to get up and grab our own napkins. Needless to say I will be looking for another Mongolian BBQ place. May give them one more chance but not sure.

I know this is a late review but I have to speak my mind. So, what happen was, it was in a Saturday around 4pm on a saturday. Me and a couple of friends went hiking and we all crave mogolian bbq, so I decided to Unilocal and found this place. It say it was open from 11 to 9 pm, so we decided to give this spot a try. Howerver, when we got there, the restaurant was dark but rhe door was ppen. As we walk in, there was one employee in the back sitting in the dark. He didn’t say a word until we tell him we have a party of three. Then, he approach us and tell us that they’re closed until 5. We were disappointed once we got there after a long day of hike and drive just to find a place that say it was open but it was closed when we got there. However, we did get our mogolian bbq. We decided to go to del amo mall lol. we went to genkhis khan mogolian bbq(sp). can’t go wrong at the mall
