Fantastic Sams

The owner seemed nice :) they are very straight forward at the front desk. As long as the haircut is simple they can handle it, I have heard stories about women going in and coming out crying haha just keep it simple. Anyways for males go for it. the people are friendly overall, except for one guy, but he seemed more focused on his work and did the job to customer satisfaction

Ruined my hair ! Waste of money and time … They will treat you like toy …10 different ppl working on you dragging you here and there. Talking in different language with coworkers and telling them your hair is to huge … My cloths were wet after their shampoo … Went for highlights. She colored them white I looked like a 90+ lady. There was color on my cloths in my ears … Never again ! No customer service skills !!

This was by far the worst experience I’ve ever had at a hair salon. I didn’t think a simple blow dry could end this badly but I guess you learn something new everyday. I repeated told the stylist what I wanted and she did the complete opposite, added in hair spray otherwise She couldn’t do my hair, I have gone to multiple fantastic SAMs and have never had this issue. I would recommend the one on Anza and 190^th if you’re looking to get a blow out or cut! Customer service here was terrible! Never coming back again.

Made an appointment with Wilber after receiving a recommendation from a friend. He is FANTASTIC. I’ve spent a lot of money at high end salons in Manhattan Beach, Hollywood Rivera etc. and still I was dissatisfied with color and cut. Also parking in beach areas was a hassle.
Wilber did the best on my hair color and cut. Parking is a breeze too. I’m a Happy and regular client now!

Was a walk in 3 days before Christmas. Wilber took care of me right away and I’m quite pleased. Nice looking young man that really knows hair. This will become my regular fantastic Sam’s. Only of thing was that there was no music playing.

I went in to have my hair bleached. I knew that my hair wasn’t in the best condition which is why before I asked for anything, I asked the salon stylist (who was also the store manager) if my hair was in decent enough shape to handle bleach, as bleach is damaging. She said sure fine and proceeded to covered my hair in the blue powder stuff that I wouldn’t even buy at a drugstore. I figure she must know what she is doing since she is the manager and all. Anyways a couple minutes later my scalp is burning and I start asking for someone to please help because it felt like my head was on fire. I was crying by the time the manager came and she washed my hair. Chunks of my hair began to stretch and snap off. My hair was almost shoulder length when I went in and it was almost to my ears by time all of the rest fell off. I started asking her why she would leave in such horrible bleach but couldn’t hold back the tears because it had taken so long for me to grow my hair to that length and the pain from a burned and bleeding scalp was ridiculous.
She proceeded to tell me it was my fault because I dyed my hair before and that it was in that condition when I arrived. I know that these Unilocal reviews can sometimes sound exaggerated or farfetched but this really is what happened to me. I cried and cried and she yelled at me to not be so reckless about dying it. She never apologized and they refused to refund me. They said they would redye it for me because there was no reason to refund me for the bleach job. I tried to speak with customer service and they said I would need to deal with that store’s specific manager. Too bad that lady was the manager and she already made it clear that the whole ordeal was my fault. I will never go back there and I really hope you don’t. There are other decent Fantastic Sam’s locations. If my hair truly was THAT damaged, she should have refused service. And my hair was not falling off like hot melted straw the way it was after she piled that bleach on and left it until my scalp bled, and yes that was probably the time she could’ve apologized but nope. I sincerely hate this establishment.

She use a shampoo and only 5 second then rinse it.
Do the Coupon shampoo is like that?

This location is clean, and had no wait upon my early Wednesday morning visit at 9:15. I was in, and out, and liked the cut, enough said.
Mind you, my hair style is not complex, but they didn’t both it either.

I went here to get my baby’s first hair cut. The lady that did his hair did the best she could considering he was moving around a lot, but she did not do what I asked her to do. Also when I went in I asked how much they would charge for the haircut; the lady said 10 dollars they charged me 14 dollars for a baby’s haircut she spent less than 5 min cutting his hair. 14 dollars for a baby’s haircut is stupid. I will never be going back here again and besides I just did not like the salon the employees were nice.

Been coming here to get our haircuts for years. Never had any issue. They send us discounts in the mail. We show up, get a haircut, pay, and leave.
My three sons still go there still. They have moved out, but still get there haircuts here.

I never caught the name of the woman doing my hair, but between wiping her nose on the back of her hand and smacking her gum, she managed to give me a haircut that left me in tears. I’m strangely unsurprised, despite hoping for better.

My suggestion is to RUN from this place… fast. My previous experience was okay. All week I kept noticing my ends needed a trim. Then I got the courage to do a medium bob. Shortest I have ever had my hair since I was two years old. I called around but no one had any openings.
I figured I would stop by Fantastic Sam’s as long as I don’t need a blow dry and figured a BOB cut is pretty simple and straight forward. BIG MISTAKE! The lady acts like she understands you and is listening to you but she’s not. She proceeded to cut my hair dry but nothing like a BOB and then used texturizing scissors that ripped my hair! I tried arguing with her to stop using that on me but she insisted she knew what she was doing when she clearly didn’t. Sherry heard what was going on and took over. I showed her what I wanted and she tried to work with the mess her coworker created. Needless to say, I am NOT happy at all!
I get my hair trimmed every 2 months to keep it healthy and I feel like I walked out of there with more damaged hair from their cheap, crappy scissors that need to be tossed!
Because of my impatience I got a HORRIBLE RIPPING experience. Now I have to make an appointment at Creative International to use their magic scissors and try to fix the damage done to my hair.

I’ve been coming here for almost 10 years. The owner Sherry is a doll. You got to find the right stylist that will fit your needs. I’ve been using Faye for the last few years she does a good fade and blend. They are reasonably priced. The atmosphere is very friendly. I would call ahead for an appointment, sometimes you can wait for a while if you drop-​in.

i really love this store every body are nice and they greet me and i really feel great going to this place owner sherry she was very nice and very professional and the price was really resonable plus she ask one of her styler mina she really really did great job and i am very happy thanks fantastic sams

My mom and I have been putting off getting a haircut for a few months now and we decided to go to this particular Fantastic Sam’s. We walked in and they sat us down right away. The owner who was at the front desk barely greeted us, she just asked us what we needed. As we were seated, my mom asked her how much a cut and color would be and she just put us off and didnt answer the question. Then i asked her once again and she told me to hold on, then she started talking to another stylist in a different language. After their conversation was done, she just left and did not answer my question. My stylist then asked me what i wanted done, so i told her i wanted to cut it four inches (my hair is long-​down to my hips) so she lifted a section of my hair to show me how much that would be and i was like yeah thats right. I told her that i also wanted long layers and also if she could thin it out for me becuase my hair is extremely thick. So she said ok and she started cutting my hair as short as my shoulders. I didnt say anthing because i thought shes probably doing the layers. By the time i realized that she cut all of my hair the same length– it was too late. I had told her 4 inches but she cut about 10 inches of my hair and not even in layers! i specifically told her i wanted layers! When I pointed out that she cut way more than 4 inches, she said she cut of all of the split ends… but i did not have 10 inches of damaged hair!!! Although even if it was, she should still give the customerS whatever they ask for. I was extremely freaked out becuase i have never had short hair in my life and it doesnt look good on me. I also had her dye my hair black. Her coloring skills were also way below par. After she had washes it and was done, there was color marks all over my scalp and the sides of my face. I could have had my mom dye my hair and make the same mess and i would have saved about $ 30! My mom had better luck with her stylist and she had told her that a cut is $ 18 and a color is $ 45 but we ended up paying $ 150 when in actuality, if you add it up it should have been $ 126 all together for the both of us, so the owner, SHERRY, charges way more than she advertises. So even though I got a crappy haircut and color i still tipped the woman $ 10.
***If you do go to this salon, you should go with the nice indian stylist, she did my moms cut and color and she did an amazing job! Although be prepared to be charged extra by the owner for absolutely no apparent reason.

Mina has been cutting my hair for almost 2 years. She always gives me a nice haircut and she is nice as well. Before coming here I had been going to fancier places that charge $ 40 – 50 for a men’s haircut. That’s fine if you like what you get, but I wasn’t finding that.
I’d recommend Mina if you’re a guy and want a decent haircut. I haven’t had the same experience with some others at the same store but that just goes to show you that you sometimes have to find someone good and stick with them.

I was getting kind of sloppy, it had been almost a month since I’ve seen my new girl Cynthia. I called earlier in the day to make sure she was working and I wanna give thanks to our Lord and Savior JC that she was.
This is only our 2^nd time together but she made me feel really good because she remembered some of the conversation we had a month ago. Cynthia gave thanks to god for her talent in cutting hair and making people look good. That is the only type of women I want to cut me up.
