Today was my first time ever eating here. I wanted something different to eat for dinner and decided to give this place a try. I was not disappointed… I order the juicy chicken and rice it was very good!

I’M KICKINGMYSELFFORNOTTRYINGTHISPLACESOONER! We noticed this little Persian place had popped up a few months ago and hadn’t given it much thought. Under the prodding of a pregnant wife craving unique tastes we stopped in after noting it had an almost perfect rating. The food might look simple on their Unilocal profile, but trust me, they know how to cook and they’re doing it right. They bring you pita bread as a complimentary appetizer. We ordered Hummus and Pita for the table and it was superb. We split a Chicken Kebab and a Persian(Black) Tea, because even though she’s always hungry, she can’t eat a full plate. We both left completely full and completely satisfied. The server was super nice, and the price is too good to be true. Oh, we ordered Persian Style Baklava to go and ate it at home — also fantastic. This may now be our favorite restaurant in the area.

Very good service both the person on the phone and the delivery guy. The food was good and they give really good portions. Salad had really good dressing. Will definitely order again :)

Everything still yummy. But still no mint. And ask the price of everything before you order it. They have started nickel-and-diming on their sides, and we were not amused.

This is our third time trying this business and I was hoping this time would be better but it wasn’t. We called in for delivery at 6:31pm and our food didn’t arrive until 7:50. We live 9 minutes away. Outside of the long wait, we made a request for extra pita and extra veggies, which we are totally fine paying extra for and received the normal portions. This is the second time we have made the request for extra pita and it not being accommodated. I can deal with a long wait to get my food or the occasional mistake on the order but not both. I will not return to this establishment and look to order food elsewhere. My main reason for leaving this review is so management or ownership can use this feedback to hopefully improve the next customers experience. The food here is good and the staff seems pretty friendly over the phone and in person but I’m sure I’m not the only one having a similar experience

Stopped in to grab a salad for lunch. The cashier/waitress was very nice but the salad was a huge disappointment. It was $ 8.99 and did not contain any meat. The dressing was almost pure lemon juice. Not sure I will go back but if I did I would not order a salad. It was the salad with the whole walnuts and olives.

I have to say, I don’t agree with the negative reviews. My husband and I pick up to go orders frequently from this establishment.(Young children don’t always sit quietly through meals and we don’t want to impose upon fellow diners) This seems like a family run restaurant, they have that warm Persian hospitality. Always, always kind, several times have walked our food out to us while we are waiting with the kids in the car. They have asked us to dine in on several occasions, which we would love to, we just know the limitations of our young kids. I usually get the Chicken Barg, chicken is always very tender, flavored to perfection & extremely juicy. Rice is delicious with saffron, salad has a nice lemony dressing. Hubby usually gets the juicy chicken sandwich, same chicken that comes with the Chicken Barg. When we order fries, it’s HUGE, enough for the whole family to share. This restaurant has our earned loyal patronage with their wonderfully flavored food, and their warm family like atmosphere! Thank you Chicken Chicks for making us feel so welcome!

We tried this place for the 1st time last night. Having a handful of local Persian spots we visit for koobideh, we know whats good. Taste: The chicken koobideh was flavorful and juicy. The rice was perfectly cooked. 5 stars Value: For roughly same price you could go to most other places and your food would come with two koobideh kabobs instead of just one AND you would have a side salad AND pita bread with the condiments one finds to be customary when eating Persian food. 2 stars. Service: You would have thought I was holding up the place when I had the nerve to ask for sumac for my food. The lady sucked her teeth, dragged her feet and took a while to reluctantly hand it over…1 star. This spot is ok if you are in a jam and have a craving, otherwise you may want to try to go to SeaSide Palace or Fanoos or just about anywhere else.

Food is delicious and portion is pretty big. Their cucumber yogurt is yummy and refreshing. Ordered their spicy chicken & friend ordered their juicy chicken. Ummm. It was the exact same dish once my friend asked for hot sauce. The same sauce they poured over my chicken was given to her. And that sauce is the magical chili sauce they sell at the market with green lid and transparent bottle. Similar to the shriracha sauce but with chunks of chili seeds and etc in it. So… We basically ordered the same dish. Hmm so both were good. Lol There were 2 waitresses. One was super weird and could not communicate and looked confused with everything(even when I asked for water). The other waitress was nice, friendly, smiled, and knew what she was doing.

This is place is everything I love in a restaurant! Family-owned, fantastic food, great service and fair prices. First: Walking in, the waitress is very friendly and attentive. The place is well lit and clean(very much appreciated). Second: The food. Cooked to order traditional Persian food with a few surprise twists(um, cherry rice??? Surprisingly awesome!) I had the spicy chicken and my boyfriend had the filet mignon… the meat is so unbelievably tender it melts in your mouth and is perfectly seasoned. We tried the falafel for our appetizer and LOVED it: lightly crispy on the outside and moist and flavorful on the inside. Third: A lasting impression. The novelty and prices bring you in and the taste and quality definitely brings you back. My boyfriend and I have been and will be back soon… hungry for more ;)

I really, really wanted to love this place but, there truly is no excuse for slow and inattentive service especially if we are the only ones eating in the restaurant! The waitress took over ten minutes to bring another basket of bread. She brought it over so abruptly that she didnt notice our glasses of water we just about empty. She disappeared and finally another lady was at the counter and I had to raise my empty glass and make eye contact. If they are slow and not paying attention when it is just two people in the restaurant, can’t imagine their lunch rush. Anyway, the falafels are magnificent. So fresh and scrumptious. Cucumber sauce, hummus, and tahini sauces are all delicious. Grape leaves were amazing. Partner in dine was so impressed with the grape leaves and the chicken koobideh wrap. Service is a big part of the dining experience. If these guys can make adjustments and improve their attentiveness to customers, they should do well.

Chicken Chick is more of a mom n pop kind of place, a good alternative to something like Chicken Maison(chain). They take a while making the dishes but I think it’s cause they make it when you order it. I ended up getting the chicken wrap, it was more of a chicken meat ball wrapped in a baguette. I really enjoyed the dish. It was something different coming from a Mediterranean restaurant. We also tried the Dolma appetizer, which was rice wrapped in grape leaves. This again was good. Also tried the chicken kabob plate. The side only comes with either salad or rice. If you want both, I believe it’s a bit of extra. I suggest getting the rice. Best rice ever! For a Mediterranean place, I was expecting hummus to come on the side without having to order it as a side dish. That was a bit of disappointment.

Winner, winner chicken dinner! The juicy chicken dinner is exactly as described, super juicy. Bold colors accentuate every dinner plate and the flavors burst onto your tastebuds with each chew. Despite being located in a very busy shopping plaza, this place is worth the drive and the time spent. We were immediately greeted upon entry by a friendly cashier. The restaurant itself was clean and the aroma escaping the kitchen was so pleasant I wish I could’ve bottled it up. The people who work here are truly customer service oriented. Although we were invited to take a seat and dine in, we opted to order our meals to go. I can’t begin to emphasize just how perfectly the meat with seasoned nor can I express just how moist the tender pieces of boneless chicken were. I ordered a Persian salad in lieu of rice and it was just as mind blowing. The additional side salad was deliciously paired with a tangy lemon dressing that complimented the entire meal. We also had a side of hummus with a few pieces of pita bread which was pretty good. The pricing is a about $ 12 – 15 per person. I would’ve given a 5 star rating however the sides I paid more for seemed much smaller than I’d anticipated. I would’ve expected to have enough pita bread to enjoy my hummus but I was literally given 6 small triangular pieces. So perhaps a revision on the pita rations and this place would be a 5 star spot. That chicken is a winner, I guarantee you.

Came in for lunch today and the vibe was completely different from the first time we were over for dinner. We sat down and no one else was dining in. A little after placing our food orders, people started walking in to have their lunch breaks! AHHHHH! Was I just glad our food was already being made. The hubby and I ordered the Roasted Tomato Soup again because it blew our minds the most from our first time. It was just as good as I remembered it! Buttery croutons and perfect consistency on the soup. It was even hotter than last time. We also ordered a side of hummus to go with our pita breads. You can’t go wrong with those as appetizers! I suggest dipping the pita in the soup, yummy! For our main entrée, we ordered the Chicken Barg with half basmati rice and half salad. Then a side of Beef Koobideh. I thought it was pricey for one skewer. It tasted a-ok, no wow factor there. I was most impressed by their chicken. It’s always juicy and flavorful! I think I’ll stick to their chicken entrees from now on. I’ll try the Juicy Chicken Sandwich next time! I took off a star this time around because service was slower than before. Also, they need to work on communicating better in terms of placing orders to the kitchen because the table next to us had an issue. Basically, their food was never told to the kitchen and they were on an hour lunch break. I felt pretty bad and good thing the server, Roxy, apologized multiple times. It happens. Also, another star off for charging us $ 1 extra for sharing. I noticed it after we had already left and they never informed us. Sigh.

YUM is all I can say .WOW :-) … I finally found a good persian kebobs without leaving the South Bay. Family own and operated with such friendly faces and attitude. Place is casual… located in a small plaza but don’t allow the exterior or location fool you. Not only you will get the juiciest and tastiest food… you will also be greeted with warmth and kindness plus easy on your wallet. We ordered the Juicy chicken plate: super juicy marinated tender chicken charbroiled served with grilled tomato and basmati rice and salad. Also ordered the Chicken Barg: Juicy stripes of marinated charbroiled chicken breast which also is served with same sides as juicy chicken. Juiciest and most tender chicken kebab I have had in a long time. Also don’t forget to ask for the garlic sauce. :-) Don’t miss this Gem… give it a try.

– 42⁄100 reviews for 2016 – Tucked in a rather small plaza amongst other businesses and restaurants such as Pastor Chef and Ramona’s, Chicken Chick has entered the Torrance block and is now here to feed you the good good. *Bokawk* Upon entering this restaurant, you’ll see a quite dull-looking sign that says, «Chicken Chick». Don’t let that old signage fool you though! Step right in with that hungry belly. My friends and I were warmly greeted and sat by a rather lovely gal named Roxy. She was very sweet and had a very outgoing personality. Pretty funny and corky girl if you ask me! The vibe I got from the whole place was sort of like a mom and pop shop almost. It felt pretty homey. As I was checking out the menu, I noticed it was only about four small pages of items on their menu, but don’t let that fool you because that’s all you really need. Everything on their menu looked b-e-a-u-tiful. I love how they include pictures for all of their main entrées next to their dish names because I could honestly see someone getting a little lost if they didn’t know what a «beef koobideh» was. So we finally got to ordering and a group of 4 of us ended up getting a side of hummus, three Juicy Chicken plates(a strip of chicken, ½ salad ½ Basmati rice, and a grilled tomato on the side), one main entrée-portioned tomato soup, and two orders of their homemade baklavaz! First, we started out with complimentary pita bread. Not just any kind of pita bread, but EXTRACRISPY& warm pita bread, almost like pita chips, but thicker. They were served with butter on the side. Different from what I’m used to, I’d have to say, but it was quite delish, nonetheless. I’d say we probably only waited 15 minutes for our food before our meals started to fly out of the kitchen. The Juicy chicken consisted of a long strip of chicken, ½ salad, ½ basmati rice and a grilled tomato on the side. The chicken was very moist and tender. Although the smell reminded me of a Filipino sour soup called, «Sinigang». It was rather odd since I wasn’t used to smelling that smell in Mediterranean dishes, but it was pretty tasty! Citrusy with a hint of a sour taste. The basmati was fluffy and light. Ask for a side of garlic sauce… But beware because that sauce is very pungent. Like it’s made out of pure garlic! Garlic breath for days! Hahaha. Sprinkle that bizzz all over your dish! My friend got her largely portioned tomato soup with extra buttery & crispy homemade croutons in the middle, beautifully drizzled with white cream. The presentation was nice! My man said it was probably«the BEST Tomato soup» he’s ever had! Big compliment since he loves tomato soup! Even compared it to Earl of Sandwich’s and said this was way better. Ha! I also loved how the croutons in the middle were crunchy up until the last bite. HOWDIDYA’LLDOTHAT?! Magic. The side of hummus usually just comes by itself and no pita bread. But since Roxy sent the pita bread too early, she noticed all of the pita was gone! ;P So she added complimentary pita around the hummus(making it look like the Golden Snitch from Harry Potter). Man was it DELICIOUS! Probably the best hummus I’ve had in a while. The flavors were so rich, I’m pretty sure garlic was added too. Yum! I just wanted to dip everything in there! The pita bread was soft and warm this time. Better than the crunchy one earlier because the one prior to these turned hard as rocks after a while. While dining, the other wonderful server, Naz always made sure to refill our waters and ask if everything was up to par. Surely, everything was AWESOME! Finally, dessert. Yup we still had room! Just enough for dessert :) I saw a picture of the Baklavas on Unilocal and HAD to get my hands on some! The presentation was lovely. I’ve never seen baklava prepared in such a way. Almost caterpillar shaped(I’m sorrrry! That’s the first thing that came to mind!) haha. It had a minty kick to it; with other flavors such as cinnamon and a little bit of lemon cause of the sauce they drizzled on the plate. I personally enjoyed it and I’m sure everyone else did too! :) Overall, I’d give the Juicy Chicken plate a solid 4/5, tomato soup 4.5÷5, hummus w/pita 5/5, baklava 4.5÷5, customer service 6⁄5 ;) Roxy and Naz were very attentive and sweet. Naz even offered to box up my leftovers for me. They really go above and beyond! Thank you ladies! :) P.S FREEWI-FI for an hour — compliments of TWC. Ask about it! ;D

Always love trying new foods and new restaurants. Tonight I tried Chicken Chick. A small Persian restaurant. When I walked in it was a nice clean restaurant and super friendly staff. First I’d like to say the portions were HUGE! I couldn’t finish the rice and salad. I was so stuffed I had a hard time jumping into my truck to go home. Also, the restaurant has televisions to watch while waiting and has free wi-fi. I had order grilled chicken with rice and salad. I also ordered the Persian eggplant for an appetizer. It was mixed with mint, garlic, and I think wheat. Definitely try it! My entrée was delicious too! The chicken was juicy, the rice fluffy, and salad crisp with just the right amount of dressing. Overall, great food, great restaurant.
