Tonight was our first time ordering/having Bombay Tandoori restaurant. You guys knocked it out of the park! We are so impressed with the costumer service and quality of food. The ordering of our meal via phone went extremely smooth. The customer care was a refreshing experiencing the gentleman who took my order was kind and helpful. We ordered and within 20 minutes our food arrived. We have been to many Indian restaurants and this is by far the best we have had! Thanks for the great quality of food and the amazing service!!!

I have been craving an authentic Gobi Manchurian for years and was delighted to find this gem in Torrance. Looking forward to ordering more dishes in the future! They are definitely not shy about making things spicy which is awesome!

I would love to give them 4 stars but the horrible parking situation and the recent visit where they were turning the lights on and vacuuming the carpet around us before we finished dinner ruled that out. Actually, about 18 months ago, I would have given them 4 stars, but the service has deteriorated since then and the parking has not improved. The food is good, I like their tandoori chicken much better than the one served at kabob and Curry a bit farther down PCH, but the friend I was dining with thought it was a bit dry. The garlic naan and onion kulcha are totally yummy, though the portions are a little small. The vegetable korma was very tasty, and so was the eggplant dish and the saag paneer, though the seasoning on the last two had a slightly unpleasant aftertaste. They do a big banquet business and frankly, the restroom facilities are not up to it. There is often a malfunctioning toilet and total mess on the floor. I really wish they would straighten out their act and get it together. The food and service were much better a couple of years back, and there is no excuse for the dirty restrooms

This place is decent. The food is not that bad and I may consider eatin git again if someone asked me to go here to eat. The service is always friendly and I have never had a problem. Most of my experience with this cuisine is in Cincinnati where there is considerable population. This place otherwise is decent! Come give it a shot!

Nice and cozy layout. kinda all over the place, and I like it. The food was SOLID. Very intense flavors in each dish… Loved the Tikka and the LAMBVINDALOO! It was very similar to my Mom’s Birria! Can’t wait to go back!

Tried the place due to favorable ratings. Surprised to say the food was okay chicken were under cooked(could not eat it) and Naan were very doughy, had way better at other places. Service were silent, the server came by often but were not pleasant maybe just dormant to say the least. We said thank you many times for water, naan, and taking our old plates and not a single word from the server as a response. Oh yea he did say thank you when we were leaving out the door.

Great food, my family loves this place. We come for the lunch buffet and for the dinner specials. I went here recently with my mom and got the dinner bargain deal for two which was around $ 32 for: — Naan — basmati rice — salad or raita — daahl — one chicken tandoori or tikka — one chicken curry — one vegetable curry It’s pretty much a good deal for people who like sharing a lot of different dishes. I personally enjoy this more than getting my own dish because it’s fun to mix of flavors. My mom and I got the salad, chicken tandoori, chicken tikka masala, and eggplant vegetable dish from the set. It was a whole lot of food and we finished maybe ½ of it, and bundled the rest for home. Lunch buffet deal is great too! Would recommend. I’m a big fan of Bombay Tandoori and I keep coming back with the fam.

This place is so random yet good. I think it’s kitschy cool that it’s part of a hotel/motel. The service is great and the buffet is even better. For $ 12.95 including weekends you get unlimited naan, drinks, and a great assortment of both vegetarian and meat curries. My favorites included the goat curry, spinach pakora, chicken tikka masala, chai tea, mango lassi, and the paneer curry. Everything was good though! I would definitely go back if I’m in the area.

The service was brilliant. As good as the food was,(and the food was damn good,) it was the service that is tipping my rating into 5 stars. While some of the waiters were a bit straight laced and unresponsive. There was one waiter,(who is suspect is the owner,) that wine and dined the snot out of us. Just brilliant. It was our first time in that restaurant and we weren’t all that use to Indian food in general. So to sample as much as we could we got the combination dinner for two, the meaty version. Medium spicy. It was a brilliant spread of curries and meats that was just way, way too much food for just two people really. I forgot what it was called but the curry lamb thing they had was probably my favorite dish out of that spread. Along with two Lassi drinks the total came out to be $ 40 something dollars. Which, for the quality of food, atmosphere, and the fact they have an actual throne to sit on was a great deal. If you wanna impress a date or crave quality Indian food I highly recommend stoping by and checking this place out. Oh, and that green sauce they have on the side, yeah I wanna put that shit on everything.

Very rarely do I go to a Indian restaurant for their lunch buffet and have been treated so well. The service is second to none here. I must have been asked three times about my drink asked nd more nan. The food was awesome. I’m asked nd vegetarian and I always have a small variety to choose from. This establishment was not like the norm. They had paneer Tikka masala. Veggies noodles and a few other options set me in the right mode for an important activity in had planned after. The music was also very well choosen imo. It wasn’t older classical but more like bollywood hits from the 90 and 2000’s. If I ever come back to torrence I will definitely return.

Made it here on a Sunday afternoon for their lunch buffet. Lunch buffet was open until 3pm. I destroyed as much as I could. What I liked is the consistency and freshness of the food. They didn’t stop filling up the food, even though we arrived about 30 minutes before they shut down. The buffet came with a beverage(it was a champagne brunch but we skipped it, wasn’t in the mood for booze) and I got their chai tea. Wasn’t a huge fan of it but I came for food, not tea. The service is always excellent here. Staff is very friendly, attentive, and had great knowledge about the food, identifying for the GF what is vegan on the buffet and what is not. This particular day they had bhindi bhaji, chicken tikka masala, veggie masala, aloo gobi, saag paneer, goat curry, samosas, a mixed biryani, and fish korma. Probably some other things but I pretty much piled my plate with the chicken tikka masala and bhindi bhaji. What I enjoy about the buffet(and buffets in general) is that I get to sample other dishes and if I don’t like it, well I only ate a small portion. The fish korma and goat curry I wasn’t a huge fan of, but I imagine they are fairly popular dishes. The mixed biryani I thought was odd because it didn’t have the yellowish tint or boldness that I’ve had at other indian places that have biryani. I’ve never made it myself so I don’t know if it officially is supposed to be one way or the other, but the version here wasn’t bad, it was different. Also unlimited naan was brought to our table, both garlic and non garlic. This place is lucky I wasn’t in my 20s when I discovered it because I would’ve probably had 5 plates of food.

I really really wanted to like this place since we went out of our way to go here but we did not enjoy the experience. Our server was nice but he got very confused with our order. We tried to clarify three times that we we’re ordering a one person combo and he came out with two extra a la carte items. We didn’t complains we just accepted it. The veggie item in the combo was something we didn’t ask for and the lentils were cold. The food was just okay. The food was nothing special. We asked for everything extra spicy… it wasn’t even kind of spicy. The best thing was the raita. All of us ate really fast to get out of there and were pretty disappointed with the experience.

Went here for the brunch on a Sunday. Couldn’t decide between a four or three stars… I would have given it 4 stars if there was a main dish I tried that I really loved. But unfortunately for me it was pretty bland. Maybe this is only during the buffet since this restaurant is in Torrance where most people don’t do spicy or spices lol. Nothing was bad but for me nothing was memorable either. I sampled every dish. My favorite was the chicken tikka masala but even that was just alright. The paneer in the sagg paneer was also pretty hard in comparison to everywhere else I’ve ever eaten it. Desserts were really good… prob the thing I enjoyed most. The cheese dessert was delish as well as the carrot pudding. The gulab jamun was alright. Mango lassi that comes with brunch(or champagne or hot tea) was just alright as well. What this place really has going for them is variety of dishes. Something like ten different dishes(including a fish option), maybe 4 appetizers, 3 desserts and many condiments. Really appreciated their fresh Thai chilies. I will be back to try their regular food maybe because their buffet was too bland for my tastebuds.

I loved the Sunday brunch! Went during lunch time and was full the whole day! My only complaint would be the service. You have to hunt the waiters down for things, like removing plates, refills, and more bread. I would return alone, my husband wasn’t a fan.

Our recent visit to Bombay Tandoori totally hit the spot so I’m upgrading my rating to 5 stars! They have a Champagne Brunch buffet on weekends for $ 12.95. The staff was nice enough to give me a mini-tour of which items at the buffet are meat-free and dairy-free. There are also display cards with names of each item and the ingredients used. Legit options including Bhindi Bhaji, Vegetable Zalfrazi, and Alu Samosa. I have a feeling that we will be spending many weekend brunches here.

5 stars for their friendly and excellent service, delicious food, and great ambiance. The restaurant parking is at the Days Inn Hotel. Our server was very very nice. Duuuude, Bombay is DABOMB! My favorite feast! Order the mulligatawny soup, order EVERYTHING(or just the veg options, there are lots if you’re a veg head). I always order a take-out feast for myself only, and it lasts me a few meals if I portion it(otherwise, it’s pretty hard to just stop eating, it’s so good). BEST. TENSTARS. DOIT.

Good food. Delivered on time, ordered medium heat. Chicken tikka masala, raita, naan, lamb samosa and aloo gobi(cauliflower and potatoes). Chicken tikka was saucy and spicy with a smooth creamy flavor. Lamb samosa was flavorful a little dry… I’m used to the creamier potato samosa. Aloo gobi potatoes were hard and not done, I called them on this, sad this is usually my fav dish. 4 stars would be aloo gobi = good. Raita perfect. Naan great. Enjoy!

We either go there often, or order take-out and they deliver to the house. The paneer masala is awesome if you don’t like meat. Their masala sauce(whether over vegetarian or meat) is to die-for. Excellent for Westerners because it is not too spicy, especially during the lunch buffet. Great kheer, gulab jamun, and other desserts. The saag paneer is good, but it can get spicy at dinner time. We no longer order it at dinner. Their chai recipe is also amazing, some places, it’s like your drinking curry it’s so spicy, here it is just the right blend of cardamom and spices.

Got so excited about eating here, I forgot to check in… My bf took me here for the lunch buffet special($ 10.95 /person) It’s located inside the Days Inn hotel, so it might be hard to find at first. Lunch special has a wide selection of foods — curries, meats, desserts — enough to stuff you up. I tried a little bit of everything. My favorites were the chicken tikki masala, chicken curry, and garlic naan! Pretty sure I had two platefuls of this. As for the dessert, they had a rice pudding, carrot pudding, and my all time favorite — gulub jamun. They’re spongy milk balls dipped in syrup — just sweet, sweet heaven in your mouth. Overall, friendly, fast service. Great food, and cheap! Definitely coming back.

Everything was bland. If you like bland Indian food, go here, you are sure to be happy. Our order included chicken Tikka massala and lamb saag. We tried this place in an effort to expand from our regular Indian restaurant, Angara. This reminds us why we chose Angara years ago, and why we go back. Service seemed fine, and the people are nice. Just the food…

If I could give them a negative or zero rating, I would definitely give them that as they deserve it. I read the reviews on Unilocal and thought it was a fantastic place to go to for Indian food. My folly, I didn’t realize that the great ratings were given by non-Indians who probably have not had the opportunity to taste and savor authentic Indian food. We went there over the weekend for lunch buffet and it was the most disappointing experience ever. I will never ever go or recommend this place to anybody. The thing I am most offended about it is how can they pass off such mediocre and utterly tasteless food as authentic Indian food to people looking for some flavorful Indian food. I think and I am sure I make better Indian food at home than these guys. None of the curries were good. The aloo baingan curry, saag and dal makhani were really bland. The only curry which seemed pretty ok was the matar paneer. The dahi vada was super dry and hard. The gulab jamun was rubbery. Of all the things offered in the buffet, the only things we liked were the Naan and the lassi. Utterly disappointed and total waste of money.

Great service! My water glass was never below ¾th full. Waiters were extremely attentive and always asking how the food was. Garlic naan was fresh and crunchy on the bottom the way I like it. Crispy chicken wings were piping hot and fresh. My favorite was the goat curry and tikka masala. Would recommend and would come again.

The best Indian food in then south bay! Beats Ocean Tava and Addi’s in redondo, which are also excellent. The saag paneer is so fresh you can taste the spinach. The assorted appetizer of Alu samosa and all was excellent! Our spicy goat vindaloo was great also. Great service as well. A must try!

Our favorite Indian restaurant is in Long Beach, and we’ve been trying to search for one in South Bay, but haven’t had much luck. This is a very popular place for Indian parties and weddings as it’s very spacious. I’ve been here a couple of times and they can accommodate big parties pretty easily. We’ve had their butter chicken, garlic and cheese naan, mango lassi, and lamb korma, and they’ve all been good, though we’ve had better elsewhere. And for some odd reason, their food always causes major acid reflex for my boyfriend and he’s always fine at other Indian restaurants. It’s a shame we won’t be able to return to this place. It’s definitely one of the better ones in South Bay.

We were in the area craving Mexican, unfortunately Habenero(formerly Cilantro) closed down. A quick thumb through on Unilocal and we found this place and the vegan GF always has options at an Indian place. The relatively strong average score helped as well, so we decided to check it out. It’s definitely a dated restaurant, décor-wise. Dark, little music, I felt like we couldn’t be loud. It’s not that I didn’t mind the décor, I do enjoy the late 80s styles to give the place a classier vibe. The restaurant is very clean though so no problems at all. The buffet is lunch only unfortunately and we were here on a Sunday night. Probably a good thing because I could probably destroy an Indian buffet. I ordered the Dil.E.Bahar Non-Vegetarian dinner(aka the Royal Bombay Special) because I couldn’t decide on what I wanted between multiple options. I got mine with Chicken Tikaa Masala, Lamb Seekh Kebab, Bhindi Bhaji. The plate also came with Daal Makhni and rice as well as naan(I upgraded to a garlic naan, I think it was an extra dollar or two). The GF had plenty of vegan choices as they have quite an extensive selection for vegetarians and vegans. Can’t remember what she had but she’s got her own Unilocal account so she can do her own review: P The food arrived in good time and it was pretty good. It wasn’t super hot, probably sat around to cooldown for a few minutes before being served to me. The chicken tikka masala was tasty. Nothing WOW but nothing bad about it, solid. The Daal Makhni I wasn’t a big fan of(but in general I’m not a fan of it, but it came with it anyways so w/e). The Lamb Kebab was a bit on the dry side but still very good. The Bhindi Bhaji was FANTASTIC. I love okra that’s cooked well and this was done very well. Next time I might just get that alone, the only complaint I have is I wish they used bigger pieces of okra. Service was excellent and they gave us papadum and some sauces. Tamarind, Mint Chutney, and something else I can’t remember. It was all delicious though, something I don’t find very often with Tamarind or Mint Chutney(it’s either too strong a flavor, too sweet, too sticky, something is off with it). It was done to my liking here. The GF and I have a new option for Indian food in South Torrance if we’re in the area.

The lunch buffet was $ 10.95/PP on a Friday. The restaurant was clean even though it is awkwardly located behind an unattractive hotel. The servers were very nice and attentive. The chicken tikka masala and garlic naan were delicious! The other dishes seemed a bit untraditional including spinach with corn. There are a lot of vegetarian options, so this is good for vegetarians. The dessert options did not look appealing and tasted ok.

I have lived in the area all of my life; how have I not tried this place until now?! Came early for lunch. Place is actually smaller than I had thought. There’s only a single buffet line near the entrance of the restaurant and only had a small selection of dishes, but in any case they were well-made. The samosas were good, if a tad salty. The saag paneer was rich and delicious. Goat curry was subtle with the goat taste, but still quite good. The chicken tikka masala was solid, but just okay. The tandoori chicken was milder than expected, but wasn’t dry(which was good). Also ordered a mango lassi, which was creamy and not overly sweet. The garlic naan was fresh and wonderful. I wasn’t a huge fan of the desserts, but maybe it’s just not my taste. Overall, the food is more mild than I had expected, but I still enjoyed it. Service is efficient as well. Although it’s a bit on the pricey side, Bombay Tandoori & Banquet is a solid establishment in the South Bay. Definitely a recommended place for lunch.

Are you in the South Bay and like Indian food? Well, Bombay Tandoori is the bomb-bay!!! Thanks to the 4.5 rating and 640 reviews at present on Unilocal, this was the place to eat for dinner on a weekend night. My favorite dish that I always enjoy is the chicken tikka masala. Oh, that red sauce! Creamy with a killer flavor profile. This dish is a must for me. Accompanied with their jasmine rice, it is the perfect pairing. I don’t like lamb but, the sweetie was very much impressed by the flavorful lamb combination plate. It looks good though. You can check out my pics. We also had the vegetable samosas and chimichurri sauce. Yum yum and yum! These are the best samosas I have had since my time in India almost 5 years ago. We tried the mango lassis which are Indian smoothies. Refreshing and tasty! Service was excellent. The wait staff was so attentive and knowledgeable. The manager even came out to check on us. Ambiance is nice. I enjoyed my dinner date night here. Yup, they get the perfect 5 from me and they certainly do deserve that«They love us on Unilocal» decal that they proudly display. I thought I wrote a review about this place a while back… anyways… For an Indian buffet, this place is really as good as it gets. Great service, great food, and great selections for a spectacular value. This review is for the their lunch buffet only and not for their other dining options. It’s inconveniently located inside a day’s inn motel in Torrance, but that won’t stop people from going or enjoying a fantastic meal. Surprisingly, even if it’s part of the hotel, the restaurant itself is large. It has a standard dining area for a la carte, buffet, and also a separate banquet area that seats about the same amount of people as the normal restaurant. Tip: make sure you’re really hungry and ready to feast, but stop eating at 90% capacity. The carbohydrates in most of the items will proceed to expand throughout the meal in your stomach and at may trigger and seriously overwhelming sense of food coma; I would like to call it, carbocide. Not a bad way to go through. All the menu items on the buffet are practical. This means that the majority of the items are things you would order at a restaurant as a la carte items, such as tandoori chicken, chicken tikka masala, mango lassi, samosas, etc. Of course there are a few filler items that place hold maybe 10% of the buffet, but hey it’s a buffet. I usually get my fill with a plate of 1⁄3 chicken tikka masala, 1⁄3 raita, 1⁄3 rice. For some reason, that’s all I want when I’m at Bombay Tandoori, but that’s just my opinion. Everything else is good too, but I just fill up on this stuff. The naan they provide is one of the better ones that I’ve had in recent years. It’s a bit doughy compared to other naans that I’ve had, but when it’s piping fresh out of the kitchen, it’s perfect with my plate combination. There isn’t any one item that stands out from the others, but the overall quality of everything is pretty up there, not to mention halal certified. In my opinion, I rather stick with the curries than the tandoori chicken. If I had to put my finger on something I wouldn’t eat there, it would be the tandoori chicken. It’s not on par with a premium a la carte tandoori chicken and would be a sad entrée all by itself at any Indian restaurant. It’s great that it’s included in the buffet, but it’s like having the sushi at an all-you-can-eat buffet restaurant, they have so they can say that they have it on their buffet, not really the best or worthwhile to have compared to the other items. Aside from that, have at it, it’s great! Give this place a go, you’re be more than surprised with the quality of their buffet!
