C’mon, how many radio stations in the U.S. actually have Native American chanting? I’ll look it up, but I’m going to guess the number is less than 10. As Corey says, this is the place to go to listen to some kick a$$ powwow music and every reservation should have one of these channels as an option to promote heritage!!!

Now where else can you hear a live, scratchy, and live recording of the High Noon singers followed by some old school Erik B. & Rakim?! Where, I ask ya? «The Voice of the Yakama Nation: KYNRAM1490» Whenever I’m driving through the Yakima River Valley, like clockwork I always tune into KYNR. Many times I can catch some kick a$$ pow wow music to sing to, some old school hip hop, nationally syndicated Native Radio, and also some cool local announcements for the Yakama Rez. I’ve also heard some local events covered such as the WA State basketball championship, Yakama All-Indian Basketball tournament, and even the Yakama pow wows straight up from White Swan, WA! The DJs are cool and funny. This is what every Rez needs – a good radio station to get those smoke signals out there to NDN country! Aieeee! ;)
