Lonnie not only makes great food but also takes care of his customers. The«Little Cup of Heaven» is amazing. He treated every one in the restaurant with ice cream!

IFYOUHAVENEVERBEENHERE, GETHERE. Best cheesy potatoes in the world! Ribs, pulled pork, brisket, all amazing! Sauce is perfection in liquid form! BBQ better than the big boys in Kansas City!

The turkey & cheesy taters are absolutely fantastic. Lonnie even gave us free ice cream bars. The line is long sometimes but always worth it. Just be advised, it’s smoked meat not BBQ. As long as you understand the difference you’ll be golden. Nevertheless it’s amazing every time I go in.

Usually prefer Carolina style barbecue but I could not stop eating the pulled pork here. Delicious and topped with great customer service. If your near Topeka, you gotta try this place.

This is hands down my favorite BBQ. I love all the meats. I love that they are shredded and juicy. The potatoes are excellent. I stick with the combo sandwich and tators. It is a lot of food, so we’ll worth any expense. You will not leave hungry! Very kind staff.

Better get there early! Lonnie Qs is SOGOOD, they often sell out of food! I’ve seen it happen. Their cheesy potatoes are amazing and I’ve never had better turkey! Definitely try them out(right when they open)!

If you are into BBQ, this is the best place to find it in Topeka. You should try to get there early for lunch, because he does sell out of food. The cheesy potatoes are excellent and I like that you are often served by the owner himself, or he at least comes by your table to check on how the food is. Not a bad little lunch spot.

Stayed in Topeka an extra day so we could try Lonnie’s; well worth the wait. The personal touch makes it five stars.

Lonnie’s is only open from 11:00 — 1:00, Monday through Friday, and from 5:30 — 7:30 on Friday. Closed weekends. But, we after we ate there once, we re-arranged our schedule to eat there 3 times in 4 days and pack some into our RV for 2 dinners. Both the meats and sides are DELICIOUS! The brisket is definitely the best I’ve ever eaten. The portions are huge. The smoked turkey, pulled pork, and ribs are tender and full of flavor. The sides are cheesy potatoes(yummy!), baked beans(so good), and coleslaw(crunchy), and are almost as delicious as the meats. Lonnie and his cashier are full of personality and helpfulness, really good-hearted people. It’s like when you visit relatives for dinner. And the place is sparkling clean, unlike many of the hole-in-the-wall BBQs we’ve visited. It’s only a few minutes from the center of Topeka and I’d walk miles to eat here, but we’re parked at the RV resort right next door. Lucky us!

The hours made it tough to make it in but the wait was worth it. This is the best ribs I’ve had in Topeka since Babb’s BBQ closed. I drive to KC for ribs often. I no longer need to. The turkey and brisket were on point too. I came in late and they gave me more than I asked for because they ran out of something I wasn’t planning on ordering. It’s rare to get great food and service in the same place. I will definitely be back!

Well worth the wait. They ran out of ribs right before we made it to order. But Lonnie is the man and brought us some burnt ends! So great!

First priority if you want to eat here is get here EARLY. When I say early I mean before they open because you will stand in line waiting with 10 – 30 people even when u are early. The options are small but all are good. This place is only open for lunch and Friday dinner. We had a full slap of baby back ribs. The meat fell off the bone and had good flavor. Also had a brisket sandwich with 2 sides. The amount of brisket that you get is insane. The amount can easily make 2 sandwiches,.but from other sources that is what Lonnies hangs his hat on… portion and flavorful meats. The platters also comes with 2 pickle spears. We had cheesy taters and baked beans. Must get side is the cheesy taters. Again the portion size is huge. The beans were good, could taste the spices and all the home made goodness. I wasn’t a fan of BBQ sauces. They offer a mild original and a hot. They had ok flavor however very runny. we are use to thick BBQ sauce that hangs on the meat. This sauce was more marinate type.

Best Barbeque we’ve ever had! The only downsides where the limited hours they are open and how long we had to wait in line to get our food. But, oh was it worth it! The owner greeted everyone when opening and made sure to check on all the tables. We tried a little bit of everything and each thing was great. The turkey with spicy BBQ sauce was my favorite and the cheesy tators are to die for. Don’t miss out and be sure to check this place out!

We’ve heard the legends about this place, and they are all TRUE. Yes, get there early for Friday dinner to be one of the first«seatings» in the door once they open. We got there 30 minutes ahead of time and that was perfect for us. Service is slow once the doors open, but worth the wait. We got 2 sets of ribs to share, a serving of the famous cheesy potatoes, and a few of the men got the«bowls». Our new friends in the waiting line always get the turkey… and after a sample, I can see why. Once you get inside, don’t worry about saving seats. That doesn’t work with the customer flow. There will be seats once you get your food. Order double and take some home for the weekend!

I have been wanting to try this place for a while, but have a hard time being here when it is open(lunch M-F and dinner F). I was on vacation today, so I got a chance to eat lunch there. I arrived right about noon, and had to wait in line for about 15 minutes. I have a #1 combo, which is a sandwich, two sides and a drink for $ 11.95, I think. I chose brisket, cheesy potatoes and«cold» slaw. The brisket wasn’t sliced. It was more chunked and shredded, and kept on the steam table with some liquid. Different than what I’m used to, but it had a great smoky flavor and was tender and juicy. I had the sandwich with some pickled jalapenos and their spicy sauce, which was runny, sweet & just barely spicy. It nicely complimented the meat. Fresh jalapenos would have been better, IMHO. The cheesy potatoes were tasty, and the cole slaw was fresh, creamy and delicious. Portions were huge! I had a hard time finishing the brisket, and ended up throwing a fair amount of the sides away. Great value and great food. I wouldn’t go as far as saying it rates up there with Joe’s Kansas City, Jack Stack, Boulevard BBQ, or Q39, but it was damn good bbq, and a nice find in Topeka.

Wow… What a hidden treasure!!! Really great BBQ& I’m not even a BBQ person. I’ve been to Oklahoma Joes in KC& this is as good if not better! Bonus: Lonnie is just an awesome dude. Hooked me up with some extra turkey to take home to my wife!!!(Brownie points were earned) On the downside: hard to find! I would’ve never known about it if it weren’t for my friend Grant! And the hours… But I guess when you’re that good you can make your own hours.
