Nice small family owned restaurant. The owners are very friendly and provide good service. Food is good and the servings are generous

Reviewed on ²⁄₂₇ 6pm. Restaurant is located in a former Mexican restaurant (very few updates). If you like Japanese chicken, steak, shrimp, a tiny bit of veg, and mounds of both fried rice and noodles, then this is the place. If you don’t mind being surrounded by tables of dirty dishes for your entire stay, then you’ll love it here. If you don’t mind waiting to have your order taken, then wait 25 min to sink your teeth into steaming hot food and it’s a little above room temperature, this is it. If you don’t mind the bar is actually a play pen, with the one TV showing Dr McStuffins. If you don’t mind paying over $ 18 and entrée, never being offered water, and you have to take your ticket to the register to pay. —- awkward set up, dirty floor, dirty tables, woefully undertrained staff, lukewarm food. Won’t be going back.

Eureka! We have found a sushi place we love in Topeka! No more roadtrips to Lawrence or Manhattan.
Off the beaten path of restaurant groupings, Kyoto is a nice, casual, and welcoming atmosphere. The owners serve you and are helpful with suggestions of customer favorites.
Started out with fried pot stickers. Crunchy outside and yummy inside.
We had the Crunchy Roll, Hawaiian Roll, Soft Shell Crab Roll, and Spicy Yellowtail Roll. All were tasty with all the extra sauces and toppings we were familiar with in California but lacking in Kansas. The Hawaiian was the favorite.
Ended with fizzy lemonade (in the glass bottle with the marble) and green tea ice cream.
We watched heaping platefuls of food being delivered to another table… and are heading back next week for lunch to check out the Teppenyaki entrees.
We were pleasantly surprised at the ticket total for our Japanese experience!
