Folkish café set in an old general store. The ham and turkey on toasted focaccia was the best bite I’ve had in the county. If only the rest of the menu were as thoughtful as that sandwich. I got strong sense that I stumbled on the very best item on the menu. I’ll be backj!

Keeping in mind the sub-category(small town café), I gave this a four out of five stars. The service was warm and friendly and reasonably paced. The food was far above average, served fresh and hot. The venue is absolutely authentic, just a tiny bit seedy but charming. We could see that the locals love it by the familiar ‘Bye, Jim!’, ‘Hi, Maryann“s etc. I ordered one of the half size foccacia sandwiches and a chocolate malt. If you’re a malt fan this was heaven(I am and I was there!) The sandwich was crisp and hot and absolutely yummy. I can see a potential problem with slow food service if a large group arrives or the place is full so don’t come if you’re in a hurry.
