This is a Topeka Standard. Has been jumping for 30 years. Great food and ambiance. I’m a «tea totaler» but I hear they have a well known award winning brewery. A little out of the way, but worth it.

My review seems to be the opposite of many here: I thought the beer was fine, no better, but the food was pretty damn good. I’m a high end beer snob, so while I would have the beer again it didn’t knock my socks off. Wheat beers, which are pretty tame, were the strength. IPA’s were just all right, and the java porter was all java no porter. Food’s a different matter. The barbecue kicked some a$$, and the hot links were good enough that both times we’ve gone, my travel buddy has bought some in bulk to take home. Definitely a place I’ll hit on all my future Topeka visits.

Wowwwww!!! Super impressive!!! Everything about this place makes me want to take it back home with me. The food is incredible. Loaded mashed potatoes, chicken fried steak that’s at least an inch thick! Bacon in your green beans! Wings were jumbo! I want to take this place home. It’s wonderful! And we are foodies! The waitress Natalie is such a super sweetheart! Best place ever. Five stars. Everything was perfect.

Just moved back to town and brought my wife here for a nice dinner. The stuffed mushrooms were quite good, and the service was amazing. The 3.50 discount you will see if I figure out how to attach my receipt is due to my being served, and eating some of the fish, which was raw. They remade my meal, so I got to watch my wife eat her dinner before it got cold, then she got to watch me eat some of mine, which was still undercooked in parts. Overall the plating was less than appealing, but maybe I am just accustomed to KC restaurants. Not looking for a handout, but the 3.50 discount for eating raw fish was insulting. And not remaking both of our meals so we could eat together on our one date night after me being out of town all week was unforgivable.

We love this place! The chicken fried steak is so delicious! Pretty cool place to visit. The service can be a hit or miss sometimes. But other than that, it is a great restaurant.

Being a KCBBQ nut, I was hesitant to try the BBQ. Now let me say, I grew up in the south, I have eaten BBQ from Texas to Carolina, and there is none better than KC Joes(formally known as Oklahoma Joes). The burnt ends at the Tiger were a 9 out of Joes! They were really good, the were moist and I really enjoyed the spicy sauce. Other tips, good house beers and the black beans are delicious!

Blind Tiger was a great local find! Food was home made and authentic with a great selection. Didn’t try the BBQ, but between the 2 of us had the seared chicken thigh with Mac and cheese, green beans, and the beef stroganoff. Beer was good. I am a home brewer, so it wasn’t amazing, but very good. Would recommend the maibock and the basil beer. I plan to go back before we leave Topeka!

Great beers, really good burnt ends, and it’s the only restaurant I’ve ever been in that has a guitar signed by Kansas and they played By-Tor and the Snow Dog by Rush as someone was warming up by playing scales with a bagpipe and violin somewhere in the back! Rustic décor, mid-American food, world class beer, and rock music!

Turned off i-70 for some lunch while driving cross country with my boyfriend. We decided we had to try the beer since it was a brewery. I got a flight of a couple IPAs and a tasty Raspberry Wheat, and very unique Basil Beer. All the beers were good that we tried. For lunch I had pulled pork which was delicousss. My boyfriend also enjoyed his lunch. The green bean side was a miss, but the coleslaw was a hit. Server was friendly, kind and attentive. If we ever pass through Topeka again we will stop here.

Absolutely wonderful beer. Any beer lover would absolutely enjoy the drink and the pub like feel to the place. The service is wonderful. I would definitely recommend getting one of their locally brewed lagers. The only disappointing thing was the food itself. It was not bad, in fact it was pretty good, but nothing compared to the quality of the beer. The expectation from our first round was extremely high, and their burnt ends were at most«eh.» All in all, great place to grab a brew and kick back and taste test with some friends, but you can find a better bite to eat down over at the Blue Moose Bar and Grill on Wanamaker.

The wait was a bit ubsurd considering we waited 45 min for 2 of us and there was tons of seating… the fried mushrooms are the bomb! This beer flight had Mai bock, it’s ok. Blarney, better, Java, awesome dessert beer, and country seat wheat, new fav! Salmon Salad is great and hubs liked the chicken fried steak. Service was awesome. No complaints!

Visiting Topeka for the Equifest. Checked Unilocal for a few local spots as we prefer to avoid chains I could eat anywhere and look for a local spot. Checking out this local fav. Really enjoyed. Eating with family. Very friendly but not kid zone type of place. Cool levels and neat atmosphere. Loved all the brewery vats and place smelled awesome. Ordered kids macaroni and cheese with steak fries, Kansan Bison Burger with seasoned fries, and the seafood pasta for me. Had scallop appetizer and the tiger tips. Tiger tips were amazing. Steak fries love love love. Macaroni-kid said we have to eat here again it was amazing. Recommend and really enjoyed. Service was very good.

Five star-worthy beer and service. The selection of award-winning brews is encouraging, and they deserve all the praise they receive. The staff are friendly and accommodating. The food is unfortunately only three stars. They have some delicious choices, like the smoked hot links and Mac and Cheese(mouth-wateringly good), but the burnt ends were seriously disappointing. They were essentially cut-up pieces of brisket with very little of the rub or smoke ring, and thus very little flavor. I have tasted good burnt ends and these are not them. That being said, it’s not bad if it had just been called brisket. All in all, you should make this a destination for the beer alone. It’s definitely worth at least one trip.

Awesome. The raw wheat beer is the best in the state I had a BBQ plate and everything was amazing. They have a selection of shirts and merch. Service is fast and friendly and the menu updates regularly. Multiple stairs to enter the restaurant so be advised. This is my favorite place to visit when I come to Topeka.

Blind Tiger looks small from the outside, but turns into a labyrinth of levels, rooms, and additions. As mentioned below, the décor is decidedly wood-paneled and 80’s, but I like the vibe it lends the restaurant. The net effect is it feels like a family room, or perhaps a dozen or so attached to each other. Plenty of parking, even if the back lot is a little hectic. That’s not what draws me back to Blind Tiger, rather the barbeque does. The pulled pork is generously portioned, well-cooked, and with two tasty sauces I alternated between. I’m not going to do battle with any of you on what Kansas City barbeque is *supposed* to taste like, but I liked the sweetness of their KC sauce. The side dishes are nothing spectacular that I’ve had, but definitely tasty, in particular the loaded mashed potatoes. I’ve enjoyed the beers I’ve had there as well. Were I not visiting on business, I’d explore much more of the beer menu. There’s a good variety of styles on tap, and I appreciate the long descriptions in the menu — very helpful for craft beer novices or the non-hopheads of the world. Service has always been good, especially considering that my table may be in a different census tract than the kitchen.

Big local brewery in Topeka. This place has daily specials ranging from fish to steak to fajitas and gets super busy right at the peak hours of dinner and lunch but the wait isn’t bad 10−15mins. We tried the place on a Thursday at 7pm, waited 10 mins for a table and enjoyed a local brew while we waited. Thursday special was 6oz steak, ribs and a side for $ 12.99. Pretty good choice which we tried. The ribs had spicy BBQ which gave good flavor but not too much heat with a side of mash potatoes and gravy. The gravy was a country white gravy which was a different taste but good. Must try the chicken fried steak. Super tender and ohhhh so good with the gravy. The dinner comes with 2 sides and the sides are pretty large portion. Mac and Cheese has a homemade taste but let me feeling that something was missing but the seasoned fries were good. The kids meal chicken strips is a good pick up and plenty for anyone. 2 large chicken tender lions, side of your choice and drink for $ 4.99 pretty decent. Tried several of the beers and thought they were all worth getting again. Try the raspberry beer might be worth a taster. The manager on duty was great, came by and made sure we were taken care of. Give it a try!

This place is so great. They have an awesome name, logo, concept, menu, everything. This is such a unique place inside and out. It almost reminds me of an old log cabin style ski resort clubhouse somewhere… It was crazy packed on Friday night but I managed to snag a seat at the bar. Great, friendly bartenders and managers. Their beer is much better than I anticipated from some brewery in Topeka, Kansas. I’d sampled their beer before at a festival and that’s what drove me here on this fine evening. Great selection of unique styles and different variations of the same style. They can hold their own with any brewery in the area, save for one, and I;m sure everyone knows who that is… All the IPAs are great and I enjoyed the differences in their several wheat beers. Prime rib was outstanding. I have never had such a perfect smoked prime rib. Just enough smoke for a prime rib without over doing it. I would highly recommend coming here on Friday or Saturday just to try that. I’m sure this place is popular with the locals, but if you’re passing through or live within an hour or two it’s definitely worth the drive.

It looks like the 80’s in here. Seriously. It’s all wood and brass and fake plants and burgundy accents. I was having flashbacks to Elementary School while I was here. It’s clean, it’s just super dated. But I was here for the food and beer, and it did not disappoint. The menu is extensive, and I was with a large party, and everyone was happy with what they got. The portions are big– my friend’s Chicken Fried Steak was literally larger than the plate it was on. They have a daily hummus special, which I think is cool. This particular evening, it was lime-Sriracha. I didn’t taste much lime, but the Sriracha was good and not overpowering. It was served with some really delicious toasted pita & big slices of cucumbers and carrots. It says ‘veggie chips’ on the menu– but don’t go thinking they’re ‘chips’ as in the Lay’s variety– they’re just veggies. But I’m sure you’ll feel virtuous and healthy like I did while eating these kinds of ‘chips.‘ The Raspberry beer I had was super delicious. I’m not a beer connoisseur, but I liked it a lot and will gladly order it again. They also brew their own root beer, which one of my friends got and said it was amazing. The layout of the place is weird. I guess it’s because they need to accommodate all the brewing tanks, but you get to go on a little tour of the place as you find where you’re seated, and admire all the totally tubular 80’s design grandeur.
