So we were new to this place. We got gift card for Christmas so we figured why not try it out. Now I’m italian and sometimes I’m a bit stiff on judging italian places. So it’s a small, quaint place where you walk in and immediately greeted by happy waitresses. Then we sat and ordered wine, I order pasta fagiole and she ordered a Caesar salad. My soup was a bit too salty for me but delicious and her salad was«perfect». Next our waitress, Caitlin, brought us some garlic bread. I ordered the daily special, gnocchi parm, it was cooked perfectly with a very nice red sauce. My girlfriend ordered the lobster ravioli which were fantastic. Thanks to the good food and our wonderful server we will be back! Atmosphere: A Service: A Food: B

Really this is good? I’ve had day old desserts more than once. Menu is very limited. To me it feels like it is ready to fold, close, shut down. I have no desire to ever go back and I tried it 2 times.

As soon as you walk into Romeo and Juliet’s café, It just smells AMAZING! A friend and I visited on a tuesday for a late lunch around 4 pm. We were greeted by a man with a super thick italian accent, so this must mean the food is authentic too right?! Its a little bit of a bridge between a go-up and order café, and a sit down restaurant. We were seated by our host, but just found it easier to go up to the counter and order but he brought our food to the table. We ordered the Pizza alla verdure, which included olives, eggplant, mushroom, fresh tomato, and mozzarella. The food was brought out pretty quickly, and the pizza was pretty huge! I would say this was somewhere in between a medium and large pizza. It came with 8 slices and we ended up eating 2 each and packing the rest. You could easily split the pizza between 2 – 3, so its by no means a personal pizza size. The Alla verdura pizza was no joke, it was topped with thick chunky grilled vegetables with a blanket of melty mozzarella. It was very flavorful and the vegetables had a nice roast on them while still being juicy. The crust itself was a thin crust, and not the chewy type of crust where you can eat the ends. My friend didn’t like olives, so I only got them on my half. Warning: if you don’t like olives, opt out of them on this pizza because these olives have a very strong olive flavor, not like salad olives that are typically on pizza. These were whole pitted green/brown olives with a very strong olive-y flavor. I ended up taking them off the pizza and eating them separately because they were overwhelming with flavor. Overall, it was a pretty solid pizza. For dessert, we were tempted by the glass case up front filled with goodies. We opted for the black forest cake slice. The cake definitely gets 5 stars, it was super chocolatey, with a light whipped frosting and not overwhelming with cherry jelly. Can’t wait to go back: would definitely opt for margarita pizza next time or their italian specialities, and their cannolis looked amazing as well.

I love this place. Such a friendly atmosphere; the staff is very friendly. Had the chocolate chocolate chocolate cake and the cannoli and both were very fresh and tasty. I would recommend this café to anyone who loves Italian baked goods or just needs a new place to try. A hidden gem.

This place is the cutest! My parents love it here and I have joined them a couple times in the past few months. It’s a quaint café/bakery on Sheridan. The dining room isn’t huge, but I have seen them accommodate larger groups of 8ish people. There’s a cute fireplace and is a good pick for a date night or a get together with friends. All the food I’ve ever tried there has been great. Starting from the bread they bring out with olive spread. The pizza is delicious — I’m not normally a huge fan of thin crust but they do it right. All the panini that I have tried have been outstanding, and they have several veggie options.(Plus, they also come in the shape of a heart!) The pasta dishes that others have ordered have been great. There is a bakery up front, and there are so many great dessert options to choose from, so save room for dessert! All in all, great food and great service! Absolutely was love at first bite — I definitely recommend!

Probably my favorite pizza place in Buffalo. Love the authentic feel of this place. The service is always good and it’s reasonably priced for the amount of good you receive(both the salads and the pizzas are huge).

Loved this place so much until my Mom got the tiramisu one time and it was moldy! She didn’t notice it until after she had a bite and was sick for 2 days! I can’t bring myself to go again even though I did love it

This place is consistently ranked as one of the top pizza places in the Buffalo area. In fact it has been rated as best pizza in Buffalo several times now. They now have three locations including the original one on Hertel Avenue in the city, one on Sheridan in Williamsville, and their newest location is on Sheridan in Tonawanda. I have recently been to both the Tonawanda and Williamsville locations however, alas I have not been to the Hertel location, so this review will pertain mostly to the other two. First let me say that their pizza is very thin crusted so don’t expect the traditional Buffalo style variety of pizza. This pizza is closer to what you would be likely to see if you ordered pizza in Italy. With that in mind if you have a big appetite it will take several slices to fill you up so you should consider ordering your own pizza or ordering a few different kinds for everyone to share. With that being said the pizza is very good and I definitely enjoyed it. They have several varieties, most of which I have tried. I found the margherita and bianca pizzas to be my favorites and to have the most flavor. Prices are great here too as their pizzas only run $ 9 to $ 10 and some change for a whole pizza. The atmosphere at both places is really great and has an Italian Villa-esque look to it with exposed brick walls. It definitely is an enjoyable place to sit down and have a meal. I found the overall experience at both locations I visited to be very similar and consistent, I can only expect the same for the Hertel location. In addition to their pizza they have other typical Italian entrees, appetizers, and a bakery with a great selection of desserts. The cannoli I had was great. The brie appetizer was not a bad choice either. I would say this is definitely one of those must try Buffalo restaurants.

I amend my previous 4 star rating… this is definitely 5 stars. Hands down my favorite pizza in Buffalo. So so good. This is the crust that you can trust. We ordered the lobster ravioli. Little pockets of love are what those are. You can just taste the difference in homemade pasta. It’s almost foreign when you’ve never had the real thing. But foreign good. The cream sauce even had hints of walnut which I thought was a really nice touch. We ordered dessert to go. Tiramisu? I think you do! It was so good it was half eaten on the way home. We are going to be back to try more of those displayed temptations soon.

My husband & I recently visited Romeo & Juliet’s. Overall, we were very pleased. Very authentic Italian cooking, healthy portions at very reasonable prices. The gnocchi was delicious, with a great sauce. After an appetizer, 2 dinners, 2 desserts soda & coffee, we only spent $ 50, plus tip. I love that it’s a smaller place, quiet and doesn’t have the national chain atmosphere. We’ll be back for sure.

Friendly, clean, typical Italian restaurant. Food was good; nothing more, nothing less. I had the special which was pumpkin ravioli and it was delicious. My family all had entrees off the menu and thought they were tasty but not spectacular. We ordered a Ceasar salad, which came family style, which I did enjoy; however the greens were mixed greens and not romaine. We all would have preferred the romaine lettuce for the extra crunch. The dessert was a different story — the chocolate bomb! A pastry filled with chocolate mousse covered in chocolate grenache was fantastic. In fact, all of their desserts looked fabulous!

OKAY. YEAH. As far as cream-based sauces go, this is the best em-effing place I’ve ever been to. Romeo and Juliets is by far the best Italian food I’ve had to date, and it costs as much as a rewarmed steak at Applebee’s(like $ 12). There is a large assortment of stuffed and unstuffed pastas, but I think the star of the show is the hand-made with love gnocchi with either red pepper sauce(omg) or vodka sauce(omfg, srsly). This place is also locally famous for their pizza, which is a thin crust actual Italian style pie that is big enough for maybe one or two people depending on gut size. And as if this isn’t enough awesome, they also make Italian bakery quality pastries that can be purchased to take to the office or a party or just as dessert.

My local friend recommended and I had the special, lobster ravioli it was delicious. The service was a little slow but it was the owner waiting on us. I had a bite of the pizza which was also amazing. I included a picture of the chocolate cake but it was a little dry.

I decided to venture out to this quiet little place because I’m moving over to that location and always wondered how the food was. I was seated in this awkwardly placed table in the corner of the restaurant and was greeted by a wonderful waiter. So far so good! After getting our drinks and end enjoying the bread and olive spread I started to look at the menu. This is where it went a little down hill… Glancing over the different sections of the menu everything seemed overpriced from the salads all the way to the pizzas. I went with the Caesar salad with chicken and split the Tranvai. Let me be honest, it was well worth the money and the portions were GINORMOUS! When the waiter placed my salad in front of me I had this image in my head that it would look like one that you may get from some chain restaurant and small in size… I was so wrong. My friend got the Melanzane Caprese salad and just like the Caesar, massive. My girlfriend got the Quattro Formaggi which was just okay. Her pizza had an overpowering taste of gorgonzola which turned me off to it, but hey, some people like a nice stinky cheese. Overall I think this place is a hit, no wonder they’ve been opening more of these around Buffalo. Next time I visit I’m definitely going to be saving some room for one of their desserts!
