It was bound to happen. After 24 years, I’ve finally had my first, bona fide bad experience at a Wawa. I waded in through the crowd here this morning, ordered a sandwich from the touch screen at the counter, and calmly took my place in one of the lines for the two open registers. The first had about fifteen people in it; I chose the one with only eight. Waiting patiently, I finally arrived at the front, when the cashier pushed the cardboard sign in front of her saying the register was closed, and walked off. I asked, «You’re just going to close with all these people on line?», to which she shrugged in reply and said«Go to the other one.» I uttered some choice words, wadded up my unpaid deli receipt, threw it behind the counter, and left. Enjoy your sub, assholes. I hope you like horseradish and pickles on your roast beef. Sorry, Store #321; I am angry, and also vindictive. Because of that, I will start patronizing another of the many Wawas in the area. Since they are all corporate owned, and the money all ends up in the same coffers, my protest will be rendered moot, and I will have inconvenienced myself for nothing. And somehow that will make me feel better.
