Statewide Roadside Assistance

We did not hire this company, someone else did. This young lady had her car towed to our home to see if she could have her car checked out by a mutual friend of ours. It was brought onto our property without our consent, and to make matters worse the tow company caused property damage. I wanted to put in a police report to document the damages, but the owner, and his driver did not want to stay for this formality. He gave me his business card and left us there with the girl whose car he damaged along with our garage.
The police arrived and could not take a formal report without the driver and tow companies insurance information. The police told me to see if I could get them back out to fill out the police report. I contacted them and explained the situation, he refused to provide the necessary information, citing that this matter was not worth reporting to his insurance company. He said our property was too tattered, and further taunted me by threatening to report us as running n illegal business. This was an unsubstantiated claim, undoubtably put forth to justify his companies incompetence.
I would never do business with them under any circumstance, considering the unprofessionalim they diplayed in this situation.

My car broke down on highway I-​195 and I called my insurance for the free roadside assistance they provide. They called Statewide to come get my car, and told me it would take about an hour and a half for them to get there. After about 3 hours of waiting, I called Statewide to get an update on the status of my tow, to which they replied «I dont know what you’re talking about», put me on hold for 20 minutes, and then insisted that they were going to take my car to the Meinike (which was NOT the mechanic I told them to take it to.)
After a total of 4 and a half hours of waiting, Statewide picked up my car to tow it, and by this time my mechanic’s shop was closed for the day. Then the following morning my mechanic called me to tell me that my car was not at his shop. After calling my insurance company to ask where the heck my car was I found out that Statewide towed my car to Meinike!!! They told me it would take 30 – 45 minutes to get my car from Meinike to my mechanic, but it took them over 2 hours.

HORRIBLE! Never use this company. I have waited four plus hours for them to come and then never showed. They lied to my car company’s roadside assistance hotline about their location, and then dropped the job without any notice. This is the second time this has happened. This is a terrible company with employees that do not care about their customers.
