After moving out of the area, i try to come home and visit. But sooo many of the places i ate are gone. I found this place right here on Unilocal.It was 3 visits before we had a chance to stop in. Sandwiches were great. Had a long conversation with Tony. Introduced us to his Mom. Great food. Great people. You really do NOT want to overlook this place. This is real deal. We will absolutely be back. Promised Anthony we would stay and eat next time.

Incredible service! We were in a bind and needed to feed 15 family members dinner on a Saturday night in the middle of the summer. We did some research that brought us to Scala’s. When we arrived on Saturday morning with our request, they didn’t miss a beat. We had some ideas about what we wanted, but they helped us figure out the right options for the entire family. We ended up was a sandwich tray, meatballs, bread/​rolls, pizzas and a box of desserts. We called them that afternoon when we were on the way to pick up the food and they got the pizzas started. Fresh out of the oven when we arrived. The meal made everyone happy and they made things really easy for us. Highly recommend Scala’s!

Italian delis are by no means a rarity around here, but Scala’s truly blows them all out of the water. The food is delicious and incredibly authentic (down to the basil grown from seeds their family brought over from Naples decades ago– seriously cool), and with the friendliest family owners, you won’t walk out without a smile on your face. It’s definitely a place I will be visiting more often.

Feels like your walking home! Everyone is so friendly and Anthony’s mom is always cooking in the back! It is such a sweet, homelike atmosphere. Too bad it’s not a full restaurant or else I would be there everyday!

Anthony and his mom are the real deal! Homemade sausage, dinners, mozzarella, pastries and more. The only thing better than the food is the service. My new favorite hometown place! I am ready excited about our next visit. You must try the sfogliatelle hand made daily by mom.

I have to say this place is amazing. Fresh homemade Italian food. Friendly atmosphere, outstanding food, what more can you ask for. They will also cater any event you are having. We will be using this catering service for our sons christening next year.

I wish I could give more then 5 stars!!! I can’t say enough wonderful things about Scala’s!!! I have NEVER had any food from there that wasn’t beyond amazing! They BY FAR have the best pizza in Ocean County, if not ALL of the tri-​state area! Everything is home cooked and prepared fresh! The Sandwiches-​paninis & wraps are devine! The desserts are delectable!!! Whether you need a quick meal, a full Sunday dinner or an event catered… Scala’s is the ONLY place to go!!!
