Was here for the first time for drinks on Friday. Once the owner found out my husband was Scottish, he put a tenner in the jukebox filled with Scottish music for him. Liked it so much we came back for dinner on Sunday. I have lived in England and Scotland, and this is the closest thing to a nicer pub I’ve found on this side of the pond. Service was warm and friendly. There was live Irish music in the bar area. The owner, Danny, remembered us from the Friday and greeted us warmly. The Guinness was rich and the cider was icy cold. The food was freshly made from scratch with authentic recipes. The lentil soup was so good, my husband bought two more cups to take home. The bread was freshly baked in house, and the stuffed mushrooms with crab were phenomenal. The potato skins were standard. Had the fish and chips with real chips(not skinny fries) and my husband had the filet mignon in peppercorn brandy sauce. Both lovely. Finished it off with a slice of toasted almond cake bc we were too full to get two desserts. The sponge was light and airy and flavoring was just right. This will definitely be on our rotation for«regular restaurants.»

We stopped in on a Saturday afternoon, while driving back to DC(I grew up in Stony Point, and wanted to see it again). Our lunch was phenomenal, and everyone we met at Sheeran’s was delightful. The next time I can convince The Wife to come back to my ancestral homeland, we’ll be stopping in at Sheeran’s.

Great restaurant in the area. Fresh food. Family owned. Healthy items like spinach salad with tender Cajun salmon. Or less healthy tasty items like fish and chips. All fresh.

A fun little place, we searched for restaurants around the area after our day trip to Bear Mountain. We decided to try this place since the reviews seemed good, and we weren’t disappointed! Service was a little slow, but food portions were quite big and prices were reasonable. The only complaint is that the beer seemed to be watered down.

A great, local eatery. If you’re heading back to NYC from Bear Mountain or Harriman State Park it’s on your way home! You can’t miss it with the big, bright red telephone booth out front and the big Irish flag! They have fresh turkey! Always a plus! I ordered a fresh turkey wrap with a side of cranberry sauce. It was the good stuff — was not the can shaped cranberry sauce it was a fresher sauce with actual cranberries but still that perfect sweetness. Also had the BBQ Rib lunch with steak fries and that did not disappoint. Tip for management: brighten it up a little inside. It was 2pm on a beautiful sunny Sunday but when I walked in I could barely see. Way too dark. This is coming from someone who enjoys a dimly-lit ambiance — just not so dark.

Bunch of friends went hiking so we stopped by late night for dinner & really enjoyed our meal. Lentil soup was warm and hit the spot. Burgers & steak were great. Prices are OK. We went few times after hikes as it is convenient and has parking lot for customers.

Most of the other reviews hit it spot on. Beautiful place, great food, great staff, and a wonderful atmosphere. Authentic Irish food that is absolutely delicious. Everyone who works here has an Irish accent which makes it so much better than most of the«Irish pubs» around here. The first time I ever visited the owner even came out and chatted with me and my family for a while. Revisiting today with my boyfriend and can’t want to come back again soon! Definitely recommend the stuffed mushrooms and the shepherds pie!

Very nice restaurant with a friendly staff and atmosphere, you can spend the whole night talking to a random stranger only to find out that he owns the place! Would recommend(try the open faced Rueben). Sit at the bar

An authentic Irish pub, run by authentic Irish people, filled with authentic Irish accents, and terrible drunken jukebox karaōke at all hours. A true gem, and the perfect spunching* spot. *The meal between lunch and supper, consumed around 3 – 4PM after a particularly long-lasting morning hike in Bear Mountain. My four friends and I decided we’d like to do a group spunch. As it turned out, we all spunched alike — three of us had the daily soup(potato bacon) and, between the five, we all had either the open-faced Reuben or the shepherd’s pie. The soup was the perfect spuncheon appetizer — warm, creamy, not overloaded with either potato or bacon(though it couldn’t have hurt to be overloaded with bacon, right? right?). Then I settled into my Reuben. I have never spunched like I spunched this day. I figured it would be like the classic deli sandwich, but with Irish corned beef. This is 3/16-quality corned beef — the kind you actually appreciate while sober. I find it very difficult to find good corned beef anywhere, so this was a very welcome surprise. The toppings(cheese, sauerkraut, dressing) were piled high, and the steak fries were perfectly done. A perfect spunching place. I loved it so much, I had to spunch twice. That’s right, I ordered a second sandwich for dessert! I should mention that they have a nice tap selection, though a bit pricey. Our drafts of a local Pearl River set us back $ 6. My friend’s iced tea was $ 4(!!!). Honestly, that’s part of what makes this review only 4 stars. The other part was that our waitress hardly smiled — she was very Irish, but only decently hospitable. That said, I truly enjoyed the Irish experience. The dessert looks great, though also overpriced for the portion you get, which made me glad I double-spunched on the sandwich. I would definitely return here for another post-hike spuncheon.

Coming back from hiking trails all day in Bear Mountain, I found this place on Unilocal with 4 solid stars and 7 reviews. I figure it’s worth a try and I’m glad I did. The service was great, the bartender served us quickly and with a smile… it was genuine too. The interior is really nice(especially the bar area). Lots of detail and very clean. I ordered a Swiss Burger, medium-well and it was excellent. It’s been a while since I’ve had such a big and juicy burger. This one delivered. Fries are thick cut nearly wedge styled fries, perfect for this burger. I went with a glass of Definant Brewery’s finest and wasn’t disappointed one bit. Better yet, the bartender allowed me to sample some before hand. Awesome. On my next visit to Bear Mountain, I’m most definitely revisiting this place.

This is a great all Irish owned and operated Pub. The food is always amazing, fresh and very tasty. The shephards’ pie, chicken cordon blue and fish and chips are to die for. All entrees come with a great salad that is always fresh, and great dressing. Try the ranch for sure. Not to mention the guinness and smithwicks on tap among other beers… The owner will greet you at the door. He is a great guy. The waitresses are all experienced, service oriented and no BS like you will find at chains. The best part about the place is the atmosphere. Beautifully designed with all dark wood bar and walls, tables. Stained glass windows. This is a first class place and you will never go wrong here.

I wasn’t expecting the bartender to say hello with such a strong irish accent. we took a new route into ‘downstate’ NY, up 9W toward Bear Mtn. got stung by a bee. while I was driving! he snuck up my pant leg and prolly got lost. right on my left shin. ouch. I haven’t been stung by a bee since I was 12ish. it’s not my favorite. we started with 2 Powers, neat. split a cajun shrimp caesar salad and some fries. Danny is such a relaxed dude. the vibe of the place was comfortable, welcoming, and satisfying. the food is your standard pub fare, with a few variations. I’ll bet the fish and chips are good here… we are always looking for interesting and fun pubs that have the local flavor of the towns we jaunt through. Sheeran’s is at the top of that list.

Great place to have a few drinks with friends. Food is actually very good. Recommend the buffalo chicken burger. Portions are just right. Pitchers can be expensive on some days depending on the brand. Irish atmosphere here is always entertaining. The owner is an amazing person and very friendly.
