Tombstone Monument Guest Ranch

Stumbled across this hidden gem just outside of Tombstone. We found a good deal on Expedia and booked a last minute stay here. The facility is really unique and offers great amenities for everyone. They have a saloon and restaurant as well as horseback riding.
The food is excellent and don’t be fooled by the term continental breakfast become it was fabulous. For our breakfast we had bacon, eggs, sausage, pancakes and bagels.
Staff is super friendly and the team that lead our trail ride on horses was top notch. We’ve went on several trail rides before and this one is by far the best. Well worth the price to go!

We just got home from our stay at the Tombstone Monument Guest Ranch. It was phenomenal! The rooms were super clean and very spacious. The staff was friendly and very helpful. My son especially loved going to visit the horses in the morning before our complimentary breakfast. The breakfast was delicious and way more than a continental breakfast! The only hiccup we had was someone had ordered a beer and charged it to our room by mistake but the front desk staff took care of it immediately. One other thing that some people may take issue with is that the hotel is located at the end of a 2 mile dirt road. This wasn’t a problem for my family as we felt it added to the ambience. Overall this was a great stay and we will be back!

The Tombstone Monument Guest ranch is the place to stay while visiting Tombstone. When on vacation is Tombstone, Arizona you want to get the true feel of the Old West. Well as we experienced for ourselves, The Monument Guest Ranch throws you right back to the 1800’s. Every room is individually designed and they even have a working saloon right in town.
The motto at the Tombstone Monument Ranch is «Live the Legend of the Old West» and that is exactly what we did. The guest ranch is looking at infamous Dragoon Mountains and what a beautiful view. Set up like an old western frontier town the monument Ranch is just 3 miles outside of Tombstone and located in Cochise County, Arizona. The amenities and activities are endless here. Literally get to experience the old west in modern day comfort. You go on trail rides and tours to explore miles of open country during the day and then rest your weary feet and have dinner and drinks in the evening at the Old Trappmann Saloon. Take a look at our review and photography of the Old Trappmann Saloon. There are a lot of unique places to stay in tombstone, but this isn’t just a place to stay, this is a true experience.
There are a total of 18 rooms at the Monument Ranch. The rooms are all very nice as we were allowed to kind of check out a number of them which are different sizes depending on how many people you have. They are all very unique and come with a well-​planned décor. Take our advice, stay at the Monument Ranch, you will be very happy!

The hotel is set like an old west street scene with rooms with various décor and themes. The saloon (bar) was very cool with a tin ceiling and nice woodwork. We got to play Faro with an «old west card dealer» and that was a lot of fun! Seeing the horses and petting them (you can ride them as well) and the really nice and quiet location are very nice and we will be back!

We stayed here for two nights at the beginning of August. The hotel really lives up to the photos and description. The themed rooms and old western town theme were spot on. Our room was clean and decorated beautifully. The porch runs the length of the hotel and there are rocking chairs to sit on while you enjoy the view. We enjoyed playing complimentary pool in the saloon while listening to live music, and the breakfast (also included) both mornings was awesome. The eggs, fruit, pancakes, french toast were all fresh and tasted homemade.
I have to add that this review is an update. My original review focused on a billing issue that we had. After dealing with the person at the front desk who was less than helpful, I didn’t think I would have much luck with the mgmnt. I am happy to say that as soon as they saw my review they reached out to me and were more than willing to help with the issue that we’d had. After receiving that kind of follow up, we will definitely be returning, can’t wait to take my mom!

Wow! This place was a pleasant surprise. Found this dude ranch/​hotel online, and couldn’t believe our luck! The reviews were decent, the price was right, and there was a room available, so we took a chance and reserved a room for two nights. Holy moly! It was awesome!
The place is set up to resemble a nineteenth century Western town, complete with jail, Doc Holiday’s dental office, bordello, marshal’s office, etc. Behind every door is a uniquely themed room. I loved the thoughtful, period touches (like lantern lights, wrought iron headboards, and history books!) The room may have been straight out of the 1800s, but the amenities were thoroughly modern and comfortable (flat screen TV, glass shower with high-​flow shower heads, comfy beds), and rocking chairs on the front porches.
The staff was friendly and courteous. Went for a horseback ride to the Ed Schefflin monument guided by the nicest, funniest two wranglers (Dave & the guy with a funny hat – can’t recall his name). They were a hoot. The wranglers were as much fun as the actual horse ride! Also, these horses were a joy to ride – super sweet with mellow personalities.
Breakfast on day one (included in hotel price) was served in the saloon dining room. Day two’s breakfast was out of a chuck wagon, on an open fire, served outdoors by an honest-​to-​goodness cowboy. Food was delicious (bacon, eggs, beans, tortillas, etc), and the setting was marvelous! The kids just loved it. My 9 year old daughter cried in the car on the day we left, because she was so disappointed we had to go home.
My only negative comment is that the road to the Ranch is not well-​marked. It is only about 2 miles from the Tombstone proper, but be sure to arrive in the daytime, because it would be easy to get lost. However, everyone in town knows the place, so if you do lose your way, feel free to ask for directions. We did :-)

This is an awesome place to stay. The staff is wonderful and helpful. We had the best guide for our horseback riding on the most outstanding scenic trail. Myself and my two friends found it to be a fabulous western experience. The food was great as well as the authentic old western saloon. The rooms are clean, only issue for me was the bed wasn’t as soft as I personally prefer. Even with the bed issue I still gladly recommend staying here.

Wife and I thought we needed a weekend getaway and we decided to head down to the Tombstone area. After reading the reviews we decided on the Tombstone Monument Guest Ranch. We were excited to get there and were pleased on what we discovered once we arrived. The ranch is set out a couple miles from town on a long dirt road. Very easy to find. The facility itself and the grounds surrounding it is definitely «old west». The reception we got when we arrived was great. The front desk personnel, Michelle, was what I would look for in any employee that I would hire. She was helpful and very personable. The room we reserved was nice, but really not much more than a standard hotel room. Now the negatives — the $ 25 per person dinner was overpriced and only fair best. The breakfast not much better. I do not recommend this expense unless you can’t drive into town and get something better there. We also had issues with the room — no hot water either morning and no one came to service our room. Beds were left unmade, no clean linens or towels, etc. We paid premium prices and expected at least minimum service. When the front desk clerk was told at our checkout, the young lady didn’t really seem to care. Perhaps the most negative thing that I can say about our stay is that the ownership and senior management were on site all weekend. As a guest, I would think they would go out of the way to welcome their guests and at least acknowledge them. We are in the resort business ourselves and we would never treat our guests with a nose up in the air and a holier than thou attitude. This was our first stay and our last stay.

My boyfriend and I just got back from a quick weekend trip down in tombstone and stumbled across this amazing guest ranch!
It’s not really in tombstone, probably 5 – 10 down a dirt road east of the actual town. But the charm, kindness and activities that await at the guest ranch are far more superior than anything you’ll find downtown! They have horse back riding, shooting, pool, drinks and more western-​y activities to do. We went horseback riding; I had never been on a horse in my life. The guides were amazing & helpful! The bartender was friendly as was the nice red-​head lady at the front desk!
Every room is themed differently — bordello, Wells Fargo, jail, etc. Really cute!
Only bad thing was the road to get there. All dirt and large pot holes and stones in the road, just make sure you go slow and you should be fine!

Really great place! So fun. Just a little hotel town ranch in the middle of the desert. Such a fun experience. Each room is a little different and is themed to the old west/​main drag in tombstone. I will definitely be competing back. So glad we found this place! And the bartender, Lance, was so friendly and personable as well! Great place overall so far. Dinner is $ 25/​a person and you have to do reservations so we didnt this time but im sure it would have been worth it to do so. They have a full blown breakfast included in the price as well. :)

My husband surprised me for my 31^st birthday by fulfilling my childhood dream of visiting Tombstone, AZ. I am a huge history nerd and this stroked my fetish like crazy! The ranch is located within a couple of minutes of the historic district but the ranch itself has so many amazing activities. We didn’t try any of them since we were only there for one day but we will definitely be returning to partake of the archery, shooting and horse riding. If you are a huge fan of history or the old west make sure to spend your nights at the wonderful Tombstone Monument Guest Ranch.

Wer Wyatt Earp und Doc Holiday einmal in angenehmer Atmosphäre erleben möchte, wer sich einmal auf einem Pferderücken wie ein Cowboy fühlen möchte, der sollte sich auf der Ranch verwöhnen lassen und am besten gleich all inclusive buchen.

This place was amazing! I booked a room for a few nights for my friend and I, it is a little off the beaten path but was a great experience. The people who managed the ranch and the other guest we encountered there were so polite, friendly and welcoming. Each room has a different theme and are very spacious and modern. It was our first time there and when we return, we will definitely stay there again. They were so helpful with answering our questions and giving us recommendations.

This place is awesome! You stay in rooms based on a different theme i.e. Bordello or Wells Fargo office. The view is simply amazing! Plebty to do here, and a saloon across the walkeay from your room. By far will be returning!

This place was so great! Was in a wedding on the ranch and they were so accommodating, so welcoming and so incredibly nice. The manager Michelle was friendly, knowledgable and accommodating, and the rooms were large and clean. The venue itself is beautiful and well kept, and the food they serve is amazing! Our waiter was amazing, dressed to impressed and a total throwback to the Tombstone heyday. The bartender however was very unfriendly, but the rest of the staff more than made up for his frown!

Just got back from a fantastic 2 days in Tombstone. Stayed at the FKS Apache Spirit Ranch for one night. It was honestly difficult to find because we booked at the Apache Spirit ranch and was unaware of the name/​ownership change. The ranch is a real working ranch at the end of a very long unpaved (gravel) road. It was adorable once we found it. However, as the hotel is set-​up to resemble an old west town, there were no signs as to where to park or check– in. We didn’t see anyone either. I got out of my car and tried several doors until I found an office. Then I was greeted by a very friendly employee who was more than happy to walk to our room to see if it was ready for our Noon check-​in. It was!!! So she let us check in early. She gave us a quick overview of the property. I was sad to hear that the cowboy coffee by an open fire in the morning has to be canceled because of a fire restriction (wildfires in Sedona). this was beyond the management’s control. There was a message board next to the saloon that detailed the day’s activities. there was horseback riding, lunch, dinner and I believe something else. We didn’t have time for anything other than the breakfast, which opened at 8AM. A little late for us early risers, but it was hearty and plentiful with eggs, sausage, bacon, biscuits/​gravy, juices, fruit and more. I looked into several other rooms, who were more of a pretty, Victorian theme. I preferred ours. it was more fun theme, with a fantastic shower. We had the jail room complete with some bard, chains and exposed brick.
The town of tombstone closes kind of early for these New Yorkers who are used to businesses staying open later, but back at the ranch the saloon was in high gear, serving us reasonably priced drinks with a smile. the free pool table and patio seating were a hit, along with the live band who took many requests.
overall, a good time was had by everyone there. I recommend this place. better than a holiday inn. it is not the hippest, swankiest place in town, but it was sure a lot of fun.
