I am a home builder in the Austin area for over 20 years. One of my clients happen to be visiting Houston and stumbled across an advertisement in a local magazine that displayed a photo of their home that I had built in Austin in 2009. This company, Patio Cover Solutions, has been using it in their advertising as well as on their website for promotional purposes. It appears to me that it was copied from my website and used by their firm, again, for promotional purposes. While my client and I are flattered that this project is being displayed in Houston, we begin to question a company that would attempt to represent itself by using projects that it had no hand in designing, implementing or executing in any form or fashion. It brings to my mind ethical questions that could have longer reaching effects and implications.
