We love Hacienda and order from there at least once a week. When we dine in, the service is usually great. It’s your standard Tex-mex place, and we are lucky it’s only a short distance away! I usually get the Taco salad, or one of the combo Hacienda specialty dishes. My husband loves the fajitas!

This place has nasty food and horrible service. I will never come back here again. The fajitas had a funny texture. The hamburger meat is mushy. The salsa was gross. Just horrible all around!

The atmosphere here is very nice and relaxing. Got seated righted away and even though i don’t speak Spanish(only brought this up because of a previous review someone wrote) I had not problem communicating with the server. Ordered two need taco. It came out pretty fast. Refried beans was good. The taco meat was very flavorable. Chips was freshly made and the salsa was not spicy at all which is perfect for me. My boyfriend and I was able to split the meal and walk out full. I will be back to try other things on their menu.

The atmosphere at Hacienda Isabel is lacking. We had visited several times and it normally started out ok but as the service progressed, it faltered. There isn’t anything particularly special in the food nor drinks. We went there for convenience in its location.

Good service is impossible when the server and customer can’t communicate because of different languages. Food is greasy and just not great. Won’t return. :(

This is a standard mexican food restaurant. It is in a great location to the neighborhoods near by. It is spacious, has full bar, and the staff are friendly. The food is good but not over the top, at least not from what I’ve ordered.

We arrived at about 835 pm and waited at the front for a table for 10 minutes. Hostess nowhere in sight. Peeked in the the bar(bartender saw me), and I stepped in and out of restaurant several times trying to catch an employee’s eye. We walked out after 10 minutes of zero contact.

Food is decent. Definitely not great. Little overpriced for what you get. Queso sucked lol we liked our chips and salsa… also not the best! Just so so. Won’t be back. Waitress was kind of weird… not friendly… I thought it was strange to be a waitress and very unfriendly. :/

Just average. Nothing special. We had cold chips and steak fajitas. Just okay. Disappointed since do many people in my neighborhood said it was great.

In all actuality, Hacienda Isabel is really a three star restaurant. As Mister R says in his review, this is the ultimate three star establishment. The food is average. The red salsa is pretty awful, but the green one isn’t too bad. The queso will hit the spot, but never send you over the edge. They have some decent draft beer options, if only because they have a couple Mexican beers on tap. Their frozen margaritas are pretty tasty and dirt-cheap during happy hour. All in all it’s your run of the mill, decent suburban restaurant. Why the four stars then? It’s earned the fourth star due to the fact that it is local and NOT a chain, something which is very important to me, and because they have great all day happy hour specials on Monday and Tuesday. The staff is extremely friendly as well, which is appreciated. It’s a good choice for non-chain dining in a Houston suburb, so there you go. Support your local businesses!

I had the #5 combo. Got food poisoning and was throwing up for seven hours the next day. Obviously I would not recommend eating here, although the food tasted decent at the time.

Good food, but the service is a little sub par. I have been there twice and both times either the order came out wrong or an item ordered was only received after reminding them that we actually ordered it. However, the food is good enough and it is walking distance from home, so I’m sure I’ll return again. EDIT: Subsequent visits have been mostly excellent, both food and service-wise.

You can add Hacienda Isabel to the area’s sadly mediocre Mexican restaurants. There is hope walking in. It’s a nice looking place. Their salsa is horrible. Why any Mexican place would make their first impression with such bad salsa is beyond comprehension. The pico de gallo that came with the dish is pretty decent. They should just put that in a blender. They did bring us a complimentary small queso which was okay and a nice touch. The Tampiquena plate was plentiful, served quickly, and at the right price. Michelle’s fajita steak had a lot of gristle and was not tender. The cheese enchilada lacked any real flavor with bland enchilada sauce. Props to the waitress for asking if we wanted corn or flour tortillas. Corn of course. But then they had no butter. NOBUTTER? This is fairly inexpensive Mexican food accompanied with fairly tasteless dishes. The service was good. They expeditiously bring you boring food. I just don’t get it.
