Tiger Bakery is the gold standard for down to earth authentic Lebanese in Toledo. And if you’re a true Toledoan you know that Lebanese and middle eastern food in general is an important part of our food culture. It’s so fun to pop in and grab a hand full of different salads and dips along with fresh pita to complete the meal. You can eat it there in their small(usually empty) café or take home for a great meal later. The vegetarian products are all fresh and clean tasting, and the meat products like the kibbeh or meat pies are deliciously greasy. It’s REALLY easy to miss this place, but if you haven’t already been, bookmark and add it to your to-do list. Tiger is a Toledo classic!

This place is a gem. I travel the country often and have yet to find a Middle Eastern restaurant that can stand up to Tiger Bakery. Do yourself a favor and eat here. I don’t think I’ll ever find a dish at Tiger Bakery I dislike. You can never go wrong with the hommus, grape leaves, fatoosh, or tabouleh. The spicy tawook sandwich also may be one of the best creations I’ve ever eaten, I don’t think I crave any other food as often as that sandwich. The workers are also very friendly! It’s impossible not to love this place.

We ordered two lunch specials — choose any 4 sides for $ 7.49. We had the chicken and beef kofka kabobs, meat grape leaves, tabouleh salad, couscous, pasta salad, pita and a side of baba ghannouj. With the Unilocal deal we received a free baklava! Everything was delicious. Staff was friendly and helpful and service was quick. Customers can eat in or take orders to go. We would highly recommend!

Every. Single. Time. They park their own delivery van in the blue spot«reserved» for people living with disabilities. I have brought it to their attention twice and am met with a very dismissive attitude from the owner. Usually the younger people working the counter are extremely apologetic and one staff member even told me she tells him all the time about it. I guess he just doesn’t care about inclusion. Able-bodied privilege! Disgusted.

Tried the chicken shawarma today. My old review stands for everything else. While the sandwich was good, it’s not enough to raise the star rating on this place. The sandwich is average. Which is not a bad thing, I’d eat it again. The meat tasted great. I prefer my shawarma sandwiches warm, because of what’s on this one it can’t be that way. The chicken is heated, but the rest of cool. It had tomatoes, hummus, a pickle onions and lettuce on it. First time I’ve ever had lettuce on this type of sandwich. It was a nice touch. Next time I’ll ask to have a bit of garlic sauce spread on as well I think that might make all the difference. Service at this place remains above average and most of the other dishes are very strong.

Good people, good food, great bakery. The shawarma, gyro, and kifta sandwiches were all good but I think the fresh baked breads stuffed with your choice of cheese, spinach, veggies, or meats is the strength of this establishment. Hummus is solid as well. An iconic place in Toledo. Enjoyed it!

Huge selection of items at the deli… something for everyone I’d say. Also, loved the fact they openly offered samples of items. It can be intimidating if you’ve never seen most of the dishes they offer so go for a taste! Super friendly and that’s a huge plus for a small business. I’d so make a special trip for the meat pies shaped like a Kolaczki. Reminded me of the café«pizza» in Istanbul. However, I found the hummus runny and too heavy on the tahini and the baba ganoush at tad bitter… neither of which I would order again. Nevertheless a good enough experience for me to give them another try.

Everything from tiger was amazing! Was in Toledo for a weekend and went there twice… the baba ganoush, roasted red pepper hummus are a must. The meat and veggie pies as well as the falafel sandwich are also simply delicious. We also had lost of delicious olive salads, fattoush, and kabobs. A treasure in Toledo!

Wonderful! It’s a lovely bakery and you can get some quick hummus, gyro meat, and more. It’s all quite tasty — especially the hummus and tzakiki sauce.

We have only ever taken out. They have tables but it isn’t really a eat in place. Maybe for lunch. But the food is good. It’s always been fresh. The woman who runs it is nice and helpful. A lot of good vegetarian options. I love the cabbage rolls. They have great jalapeño hummus. There is a potato/eggplant saucy tomato dish that I can never remember the name of but it is awesome. It’s good food and the price is right.

I love this place, but I can see how it can be kind of awkward for people if its their first time. Its a great store with some grocery and a lot of fresh foods. A lot of the time the employees just kind of expect you know what you are doing and what you are ordering and where to stand etc. But they are never rude or anything like that, very nice people who really do go above and beyond to help the customer. Their red pepper hummus is absolutely amazing btw.

2015-02-08 Gerry and I stopped in just to check it out and perhaps buy something for lunch the next day. Everything in the deli case looked delicious. We decided to pick up some tabbouli, lamb biryani(a favorite of mine), one fried Kibbi, a spinach fatayer pie, and, of course a bag of what looked to be very crunchy pita chips with zatar. Everything was very tasty. I especially enjoyed the use of spices and the spiciness of the lamb biryani. The tabbouli had very little lemon juice and oil on it which we prefer. That way it stays fresh longer and we can add as much as we want to it. We will definitely be stopping in again to try the other items in the deli. And if we time it right we may even try a sit-down meal. Pita chips rather than crackers or potato chips are our go to food when we want something with a satisfying crunch. Tiger’s Pita chips with zatar were some of the best we have every had — crunchy, not too salty and lots of Zatar. I would go back just for these.

Tiger Bakery! {Ferocious Roar!} Park in in the lot behind the building.…exit your vehicle. .. . inhale. MMMMMMM I’ve never tried anything here in their deli case that I have not liked. Everything I’ve ever purchased has the appearance of being freshly made and tasty. The lil’ spinach pies are so good. I pick up to take home and have never eaten in the small dining area. The dining area does not beckon me. It doesn’t say«Hey.. . you.. .. have a seat and stay awhile». Maybe if I actually sat down and ate there, I’d change my tune. The place just seems like a deli, not a restaurant. The staff always seems very helpful, friendly and ready to feed you!

If you haven’t been here for lunch yet, consider yourself as boring as plain olé whitebread… until you do. It’s an oldschool establishment that is sure to satisfy every time! Fresh ingredients, lots of choices, and friendly service seal the deal for a successful Lebanese experience. In fact, I wish I could have gone there today. Damn.

I have been a happy customer for many years and have recently become very disappointed. In October I went to lunch with friends at Tiger. The beet salad I ordered was bad, as in spoiled. I figured it was an isolated incident, and went back for lunch again last week. I ordered the fava been salad, again, bad. It had spoiled. Maybe, just maybe these are flukes… but I am not willing to chance it again. I must say I am bummed.

Tiger Lebanese Bakery is a hidden treasure in the Glass City. Here are a few reasons as to why: –Large assortment of Middle Eastern foods for dine-in or takeout. –Great selection of grocery items. –Inexpensive spices! –Knowledgeable staff. –Everything is made fresh in house. Try the $ 6.99 lunch special. This is certainly a great deal. Mix and match any of Tiger’s dozens of items to customize your meal. Everything I have tried has been flavorful and delicious. With all of these amenities, WHY would you travel 1⁄3 of a mile down Monroe St. to eat bland Lebanese food for 3 – 4 times the price? Tiger Bakery is where it is at!

This is real talk. After just ten minutes in the store, I was getting very sad at the realization that I’d soon have to leave… and that I might never be back. After all, I live more than a thousand miles away. Such a wide variety of food for such decent prices! And groceries! But in the end it all comes down to flavoring. When I go to Lebanese restaurants I look for subtle differences. A key difference I often see is that some restaurants will dumb down the flavoring so it’s more accessible to a wider audience. This restaurant embraces the full flavoring. It’s as if they are making this food for their husbands and we got an invitation to come over. Terrific service and wonderful food.

When my SO and I first started dating, he’d occasionally mention Tiger Bakery back in his hometown of Toledo, OH and how totally amazing it was. Later, we got serious enough for me to meet the folks. Yay! The drive from Atlanta sucked, but my first visit to Tiger Bakery was the sweet, sweet reward.(his parents are also pretty cool) I’ve been back here a couple of times since. Each visit, my SO and I choose 6 – 8 different dishes, a spinach and feta pie or two, and a buttload of pita bread. We then spend the rest of our time in town scarfing it all down. The best thing here is by far the hummus. It’s so smooth and creamy and has the perfect balance of ingredients. Other standouts include the falafal sandwich, the aforementioned pies, and the dajjaj. Oh, and the tabouli. I am obsessed with that stuff. Oh, and the baklava! I guess what I’m trying to say is that you should just order one of everything. Enjoy!

This is the first Lebanese bakery I hit in the Sylvania/Toledo area. I knew it is a great one as soon as I entered the place. The smells!!! OMG! It was the most homey, comforting smell I have encountered. I tried a couple of absolutely wonderful kibbes with this wickedly garlicky sauce on the side; super smooth hummus; the minced lamb filled pastries were also to die for. And finally, the friendly lady behind the counter convinced me to get a couple of fresh out of the oven stuffed zucchinis… oh my… am I glad I got those! I think that must be what my mother would make if she were a Lebanese mother!!! I also was able to buy a large box of mixed baklava… can’t wait to get in those!
