Don’t waste your $ service poor food poor. Wings not as ordered naked no sauce means that not greasy hot sauce… chicken wrap was almost all lettuce. Waitress never asked how the food was almost like she has heard the complaints before

I spent New Years Eve at the South End Grill. The band was great, but the kitchen closed at 10PM(some of our friends hadn’t even arrived yet) and they ran out of Guinness. But I understand there are new owners, so maybe things will improve.

There are dirty menus on the tables, but no one to take orders. Gave up and left. It once was a good, clean place with a great Ceasar Salad. Now it’s just sad and smells damp and like cigarettes.

I ordered my to go meal half an hour ago… The woman on the phone said«15 minutes»… I got here about 20 minutes later and have been standing here at a noisy ass bar in my pajamas for 10 minutes… The server just told me it’s going to take 5 more minutes, which in her time means 10 minutes. This review is based purely on service alone — 1 star simply because the played one song that I liked. I ordered ahead of time so I could avoid this exact situation. First and probably my last time ever eating at this spot. Disappointing. Updated: it’s now been 46 minutes since I ordered my salad that was supposed to take 15 minutes and I am still standing here in my pajamas. 50 minutes. Apparently 50 minutes is the magic number before you’ll get your to go SALAD. And she didn’t even seem to care. So lame.

Good bar food! Boneless chicken chunks are very good — cooked perfectly and their sauces are good. Tuesday night wings are $.60 a piece. Soups and sandwiches are good too. Their beer prices are awesome and they have a really good variety of draft beers. The wait staff is very good, friendly and attentive. Some of the other reviewers must have come on an off night — our food has never been over cooked or slow. Their chips are good!

Sat on the patio for 20 minutes with no service. Got up and went to Gradkowski’s, had great service, great food and left a big fat tip. #yourloss

Service very good, patio ok, cocktails strong, food is-well, just average bar food. I had the chicken balls and they were ok. My wife had the ribs and they were terrible. Probably just come here for drinks in the future.

I love this place. It has become our goto home for Sunday Football. Some of the best«bar» food around. The chili is fantastic(as is the chili-mac) — solid portions and great prices.

The service was an absolute joke. It took us 25 minutes for a server to even recognize we were sitting down, and we were in the main bar area. It didn’t stop there. We ordered the spinach artichoke dip which was clearly frozen and then microwaved. It was disgustedly watered down and just gross. If you’re thinking of going here, don’t.

Some of the best bar food in Toledo. Hands-down the best Mozzarella Sticks I’ve ever eaten in my life. They’re homemade… not the frozen garbage that 99.9% of every other place serves. They’re worth the trip alone. Burgers are solid. Huge fan of the bacon/cheddar burger. And they have tater tots. How can you not love a place with tater tots? Their wings and chunks are also good. Place is huge. Good for large groups. And great for watching sports.

I’m a Southey born and raised, and the South End Bar and Grille has sat in that spot on Glendale Ave. since I was a kid. The building has seen its share of owners over the years, and they have tried every angle from family friendly to downright night clubby. Though the interior hasn’t changed much over the years, it is a fairly interesting one with its tri-levels. The bar is pretty nice too. The owners dictate the quality of food, and it has been a roller coaster ride. Thankfully, the current owner has kept the quality fairly high, for pub grub standards that is. I’m a wing connoisseur and the SEBG does a pretty good job. The french fries I had with my wings were good also. I had the hot sauce on my wings, and I think it’s hotter that say, Fricker’s or Hooter’s. I tried the next step of heat, on the side, and could handle it in small doses. I will be back, as usual, to try other menu items. I visited on a Monday night, and there are nice beer specials. The South End Grille has always been an interesting character like the south end of Toledo itself. I’m sad to see how dead this end of T-Town is with the pit that was Southwyck, but the South End Grille has always risen from it’s own ashes over the years. I worry about«the crowd» that it attracts on the weekend, but then again, if something isn’t done about the south end of Toledo in general, no one can blame the owner for the type of clientele. Visit the SEBG for good bar food and to support a local business.

I’m not going to say I got food poisoning or that my friends did either from eating here. We go here almost weekly, but mostly for the trivia. I will say that after eating there we feel, well, not good. The food is inconsistent at best. The cheese sauce always has an interesting consistency, the meat is rarely cooked as ordered, and it seems to just sit in your stomach longer than food should. Other friends haven’t really complained about the food here, so I’ve tried several things on several occasions, and my final conclusion is that I’ll skip the food but keep the trivia from now on.
