Greasy, dirty, and just plain overpriced and gross food. I will never go back. I was unhappy with my food and the waitress said there was nothing she could do about it. It was such an unpleasant dinner.

Stopped in for the ½ off breakfast. Well… the original price was $ 9.50(which I think is outrageous) so my western omlette was $ 4.75. Well when it came out the omlette was sitting on a puddle of grease and olive oil. I took 3 napkins to soak up the grease/oil and when I pushed on the omlette, more ozed out! yuck! I tried one bite, but it coated the inside of my mouth with grease. I told my server about it and she said, «yes, I noticed that». Then why was it served? I asked that it be taken off my bill. She did and asked if I would like something else. By this time I had lost my appetite. The toast was good. The portion was huge but not eatable. Sometimes large portions are not always the best asset of a restaurant if you can’t eat it. Don’t think I will be going back. The hummus is ok, but I wish it came with more/and a better variety of vegetables.

Rumors is a great place for good food and excellent service. Been coming here for 10 years. started going for the ½ off breakfast(portions to keep you full all day) and now have become regulars 2 – 3 days a week for dinner… Carey is a Wonderful Waitress who has been there for years and really treats all customers well. She has a ton of regulars including us which reflects on her outstanding service Angie is another top notch Waitress who knows how to really make you feel at home… highly recommend either one of these ladies… recommend the turkey club sandwich with fresh Turkey meat. Anything with the Gyro meat especially the gyro pizza…

Huge portions but a few slip ups as well. Burger overdone(asked for medium, came out well done) huge portion of fries but just not that good. Sent back the side of rice(no flavor) but the gyro platter itself was good. Server Angel was attentive and friendly. Prices worthy of a meal there and lunch at home tomorrow. Will return again(usually for breakfast, half off from 8 – 12.)

I was on a road trip for 9 days and went here on a recommendation of a local friend. As a vegan, eating while on a road trip can be a torturous venture. I informed the waitress that I had a strict no dairy diet and she was very friendly and accommodating when I ordered. FRIGGINHUGEPORTIONS. I ordered falafel, hummus and tabouli. Ok, I’m a 6’3225lb dude who runs 20 – 30 miles a week. I can out eat most folks without trying. The amount of food she brought me was ridiculous. I could’ve fed my entire family with my food alone. I thought it was a bit pricey at first, but no no no. For the amount of food she brought, it was dirt cheap. PLANONGETTING A METRIC F$#KTONOFFOOD. My biggest regret was leaving all of my leftovers in my friend’s refrigerator. This was the best meal I had on the entire trip. I’m a dummy. I will be back next time I am in Toledo.

I love Mediterranean food, but was disappointed in Rumors. The atmosphere was relaxed like a neighborhood diner and that’s about the nicest thing I have to say about it. Service was very slow. However, our waitress seemed to be the only one on the floor, and I could tell she was really doing her best. Our food was just okay. I got a gyro, which was delicious but my friend got the Lamb Shank and it was covered in a sauce that we thought tasted like watered down spaghetti-o’s. I hear the breakfast specials are great though! Maybe I’ll give those a shot, but not again for dinner.

Food is good, portions are huge and prices are reasonable! The grilled chicken sandwich is monstrous and only 6 bucks. Long island chocolatey Ice teas are crazy good and strong. The Rumors salad with gyro meat is one of my favorites though and good for two meals.

Toledo is very good at housing awesome eats in random-ass places. Like that Mexican place downtown in the back of a supermarket, or that Chinese-place-that’s-not-advertised-as-a-Chinese-place in Rossford. Anyway, a pal says he’s going to take me to a place called«Rumors.» First off, I think, «Is he taking us to a strip club?» We pull up to a random Applebee’s-looking place around the Frankin Park Mall area and I’m already not impressed. But we go in, get a couple beers, and check out the hellaciously huge menu. They definitely have regular bar-and-grill type stuff, but their expertise seems to be Mediterranean. My two pals shared one platter of grilled chicken kabob, and I foolishly got a single gyro. I say foolishly because my one gyro could have easily served three people. Seriously huge portion sizes for fairly regular bar-and-grill prices. Service was great despite it being a busy Saturday night. I will definitely be back, and probably have doggy bags for days.

This place is special to me as it’s the one place that I’d meet my sister(who died a year ago today) for breakfast each year when I’d come back home to Toledo. The staff is always congenial and efficient, the portions are more than ample and the food is delicious. I can only judge this on one item, the Eggs Benedict, which is my long standing favorite and I have been enjoying it at Rumors year after year. The price is a fraction of what I would pay in Austin, Texas, where I live and work now and nearly everything is overpriced. It seems all the good inexpensive«joints» are gone in Austin. Not so in Toledo. Rumors is a refreshing reminder of what a dining experience should be. Breakfast is half price before noon. What a great deal!

Unexpectedly good. When we drove by in the past we figured just another Bar and Grill, another Diner, another Burger Joint. WRONG! Ive read the other reviews and decided after checking out the Beirut recently, we must come here. Rumors is not strictly Lebanese or Greek, there is American stuff here too. We tried Falafel for the first time. My wife says her Gyro meat was the best she has had to date. The chicken was flavorful and tender. We had a big platter(see picture) forgot what it was called. We ordered 4 sauces… Tahini, Garlic, Gyro, and a Greek Red Sauce… and just went on a dipping frenzy. We are not food experts in the Middle Eastern realm of cuisine, but we know what tickles our taste buds. We liked everything, and oh yea the Hummus was good too. HUGE portions, great mixed drink pours. Pleasant helpful service and tips from our server/bartender April even though she was very busy. Next time we are thinking about trying the Pizza. Yum.

BEWARE: THESALADPORTIONSAREHUMONGOUS Literally, I ordered a small fatoush salad and I could barely finish half of it. It was good with the pita chips, cucumbers, tomatoes, lemon & olive oil dressing. I also ordered two falafels from the apps menu they were tasty and covered in sauce. This place def seems like a local hang out. There were a bunch of people randomly coming in to the bar and other tables who all knew each other. It made the place seem kind of homey. They also serve free popcorn, peanuts, and pita bread.

Like others have said it isn’t the best but it really is a good value IF you can get service. Lets talk about service. Here a waitress or waitresses will walk by you several times before acknowledging you much deigning you with any service, better hope you don’t get a dirty table(commonplace) because they may try to give you another bill, well we were told after waiting 10 mins at at a dirty table that she thought it was ours. The good news is we found a restaurant open on New Years Day. The bad news is we ended up at Rumors. We ordered Bacon and Eggs and a chicken salad, coffee. They weren’t that busy but it took over 10 minutes to get the coffee. Served in a pot it was lukewarm when we got it. Eggs were fine, the bacon was thick and it came with a generous mound of home fries. The Chicken Salad was huge. Generous portion of chicken but the bed of lettuce was barely edible. It was all Iceberg lettuce with some large chucks of the inedible portion of head lettuce. We had no silverware and had to ask 3 times but hey it’s New Years Day. We were happy to find a place open. The other person in my party used a walker and traversed up 5 stairs to find a table. We noticed an elevator for just such an occasion. I asked the waitress if we could use the elevator leaving and she said of course. Nobody offered to help as the controls were confusing and not just a push button to go up and down. After fidgeting for 5 minutes we looked around and saw the owner or manager at the bar doing a nice job of avoiding our gaze. Although in a walker from a recent surgery, we were not entirely without ability to go down steps so we just walked it even though it was difficult. I had left a 25% tip before the elevator incident so I went back and gave 10% instead. Not sure if this was just a case of «I don’t want to be open on New Years Day» or just crappy customer care. At any rate, I would rate the food a 3* as a pricey diner. The customer service ranks a 1*. Doubt we will return here.

I haven’t written a review before but this restaurant was so bad I felt I had to. I ordered the Greek Trio. Every part of it was flavorless and disgusting. The portions were huge. The service was okay but the food was awful. I love Mediterranean food and have never had bad Mediterranean food until now. My fiancé had the gyro wrap with fries. The meat in the wrap was okay but nothing to write home about. I wouldn’t eat here unless you like bland bar food.

Let me paint a picture for you… My «mother in law» had a birthday dinner planned at rumors. And I’ve never been, naturally I turn to Unilocal for reviews and ideas on what to order. . The reviews said the worse. The restaurant is dirty and the service is bad and the food is the worst… so naturally I was hesitant on eating here. I thought we could make an appearance and eat at Wendy’s afterword(which was more in my budget at the moment) I warned my boyfriend about the reviews and he said he will just be safe and order their burger. I tried to talk him out of it because all the reviews on Unilocal was for their Lebanese food not american… and I thought it would be like ordering a taco from chinese. We walk in the doors of rumors, totally not what I expected. It looked like a nice bar restaurant and around the corner looked like an outdated mom and pop breakfast restaurant. .but it was Clean(«yayyyy it’s clean. Unilocal was wrong! », is what I thought) I then shyly tell my boyfriends mom about my fear of this place and she raved about how great it was and she’s been there 20 times and the burgers and everything was delicious. So I calmed down Then I pestered the waitress about what’s good on the menu and blah blah… Our waitress was amazing. Tentative. Nice.(«Yay good service! Unilocal was wrong again», I thought) I ordered the chicken gyro, I love chicken gyros and I couldn’t resist… with fries. My boyfriend ordered chicken wings and fries. The food arrives in cheap plastic pepper shaped dishes … which is confusing because… this is not a Mexican place. The chicken gyro was in a pita pocket(wtf?) Lettuce on the bottom, big chunks of chicken seasoned very weird with tomatoes and onions… a side of the worst version of tzatsiki sauce and some curd looking garlic sauce… Yuck I couldn’t pick the pita up. I had to pick at the chicken with my fingers and the lettuce was soggy by the time I got to it. The tzatsiki sauce was brown and watery… I’m used to a white cucumber delicious sauce. The fries were amazing though and fresh and flavored. Yummmm mmm My boyfriend loved all his food. After dinner I had the worst stomach ache and kept burping up that gross sauce. And it continued to the next day. So gross. I will never go back. I gave two stars. One for service and the other for fries.

Discovered RUMORS during the 2nd Toledo Dishcrawl(Monroe Street ed.) last Spring and absolutely fell in love with it. There were about 20 of us and took over a good portion of the seating area. «Platters for 2» were served all around with chicken, kafta, beef, falafel, tomatoes/cucumbers/onions, hummus and Tabouli salad. It was a feast! I was so incredibly happy. I felt like I walked into a fabulous Lebanese family dinner. Staff was so accomodating and friendly. They even gave us to-go boxes to take the food home. That’s my kind of family dinner :). Came back this past weekend for a late dinner with my visiting mother from Chicago. We arrived around 915pm, kitchen closed at 930pm so we made sure to put our order in right away! Yes I felt bad but we were SO hungry and Amango closed an hour early. Ordered the«Platter for 2» because let’s face it… it’s more like a platter for 6. And for $ 23? I mean c’mon. It’d be a sin not to order that. Dinner was Sunday. I have been eating leftovers from then for lunch and dinner and finally ate the last helping last night(Wednesday). So yes, 5MEALSWORTHOFLEFTOVERS from the Platter for 2. I hear their long islands are amazing. So I will definitley be back for that platter and some drinks :). Because every now and then? I, too, deserve to be treated like royalty. Oh! I should add that my FAVORITE part of my meal was the kafta and chicken. So well seasoned! Their falafels and choice of pita I feel like could be better. I’d rather have smaller falafels with better consistency(was a little dry and crumbly) and denser pita bread served warm and not in a zip lock. But that’s just me! A little constructive criticism based on my own personal preferences for whoever cares to read this review ;). Good day!

The one thing I can say is that the portions are HUGE! I can’t say that it’s the best Lebanese food that I’ve had, but the prices are reasonable and you get a lot of food so you can share each dish. We went there and ordered the Rumors Platter for 2 and it could have easily fed 4 – 5 people! The meal included hummus, 4 grape leaves, falafel, chicken, steak, kafta and side salad. We got the tabouli as the side salad and it was bigger than most portions at other restaurants! My overall experience was good. Decent food, the service wasn’t bad, portions were big and prices were reasonable. I’ll probably stop by more often. I debated whether to give them 3 or 4 stars but settled on 4 since they were so generous with their portions.
