One of Toledo’s BEST. The food is delicious, drinks are phenomenal and the staff is fantastic! You can go in casual or dressy, it all fits in! The décor and building itself is worth walking in for and when they open the big windows by the tables on a beautiful evening, it’s perfect. This is one of those ‘go-to’ date-night restaurants!

A gem of a restaurant in downtown Toledo. Pan roasted swordfish with fennel, escargot, white beans, etc. Also had a chèvre soufflé salad. The chef is CIA/Hyde Park trained and it shows!

A wonderful late seating at Registry Bistro. The room is large with high ceilings and subtle lighting; marvelous large canvasses with an almost Diego Rivera-feel to the art. Valet parking on a rainy night was helpful since there is little street parking and the public lot was full. We were seated immediately upon arrival. The menu was typed(small) and printed in a 8″ square book form — bring your reading glasses. The wine and cocktail lists were extensive, with a few wine options by the glass. The starters and dinner choices were original, understandable, and beautiful to view/wonderful to taste! Prior reviews recommended the Scotch Olives, a perfect lightly fried, breaded green olive with a light saffron sauce for dipping. The Trout entrée, offered with or without head and tail, was meticulously filleted leaving the fish intact and beautifully displayed on the pristine white plate. Dime and nickel-sized Rutabaga rounds offset the plated presentation perfectly. The 8 oz. skirt steak was thicker cut than expected and cooked to perfection as medium rare — seared, firm and red, not bloody. A dark chocolate bombe’ with chocolate shavings and freshly-made pistachio ice cream was a small enough serving to complete the meal without being overwhelming and was perfect for a romantic sharing. The only offset to a lovely evenings as the noise level at the peak of the dinner; a difficult situation to control with two story open ceilings and concrete floors — all beautifully appointed but perfect for sound reverberation. A thank you to the chef for a fabulous meal and to the young waiter Neil(for Neil Young) who managed to appear at appropriate times without being bothersome, brush away crumbs and present/clear dinnerware unobtrusively. The owners of the Registry Bistro have a gem of a restaurant!

OK, so I love Registry; the atmosphere is great, the drinks are great, the vegetables are amazing, the meat dishes are creative and tasty, and the servers are professional and personable. Had to update because we recently had the Green Bear Ball at the Secor Bldg, essentially in the rooms adjacent to the restaurant, so it was catered(with full bar service) by Registry. They did a great job. If you have a medium-sized to big special event that you want to be very special, consider these guys. They will not disappoint.

Beautiful, and probably first choice for a romantic date or sophisticated event. Menu changes, always with more than one winner. I love the more traditional dishes, done with the Chef’s flare, and tend to steer away from the Fusion style choices. A popular spot for weddings and events as well. My ranking 1.Cocktails best in town 2.Desserts amazing, love the dessert for two option 3.Apps & Soups unique and worth the money 4. Entrees sometimes over seasoned, hit or miss

I’m torn on my feelings about this place. Here are my thoughts: Went on a Friday night. There was a concert at the Huntington Center across the street. The place was not full. This is not a good sign The menu is too over the top for this area. Waitress had to translate the majority of the menu. Don’t get me wrong, I really appreciate finer foods and it’s refreshing to have a place like this in Toledo, but the reality is this is TOLEDO, not NYC or Napa Valley. With that being said you need to be conscious as to who your clientele is. The only somewhat typical item on the menu was a meatloaf type burger and fries(not called fries on the menu). I saw this plate come out of the kitchen several times. What does that tell you? It says«I’m going to pick something that seems safe». That’s your clientele. So my suggestion would be to create more menu items that are attractive to this area. And make the menu a little more«user friendly». I appreciate Chef Erika’s credentials and her food and presentation is very good. Very nice venue. Great location. Great service. Just offer some entrees that appeal to a larger demographic and this place could be the talk of the town.

Both my colleague and I found the same place on Unilocal as we were looking for a quick dinner in Toledo. I’m glad we found it as well. Open air, and in a new part of downtown too. My colleague has a couple of food restrictions, and they way they structure their menu makes it really easy to order as well. Great cocktails too.

If you are ready to experience a fine dining environment that isn’t too«stuffy», then check this place out. It has exceptional food, a friendly and knowledgeable staff, and the food is right on point. You must try the grilled oysters… they are fantastic! The menu is limited, but like all similar places, it typically is. Get ready to branch out and have some duck or something you can’t quite pronounce, but no worries because it will taste amazing! The only downfall is the parking situation. It is located in the heart of the city, so that makes it a bit challenging.

Raw, concrete architectural details inside. Rotating artwork on display(although it wasn’t hung while I was there). Very industrial and artistic. Gluten free, Dairy free, Nut Free, Vegan, and Vegetarian options available. I was pleasantly surprised that my hometown of Toledo could turn up the flavor the way this restaurant does. Bold flavors in cocktails, appetizers, and main courses. The service was fantastic and very thoughtful. Not a 5-star because the portions were pretty small for sharing(hummus appetizer specifically).

One of the better restaurants in Toledo. This was my second time here and my first review. This restaurant would be in my top 5 restaurants in Toledo. The setting is classy, the service is excellent, and the food delicious. We ordered a bottle of Reisling to start off our meal, which was very good. Two of us ordered the oxtail, which was delicious. It was sitting atop a bed of Jasmine rice and garnished with radishes and some vegetables. The oxtail literally melted off the bone(no knife required!). It had been marinated in a tasty sauce. The third person ordered the meatloaf burger, which, judging by the fact that the plate had NOTHING left afterwards, was amazing. To start, we ordered the Salted Cod Beignets, which tasted more bread than cod. They were ok. The Butcher’s Board was delicious, esp the elk and the bacon jam. Highly recommend getting this starter. This was the second time I ordered this dish and it was literally cleaned up! Overall, a great restaurant. If you haven’t checked this place out, I highly suggest you do.

I’m SOGLAD I found this place on Unilocal! Toledo is about equal distance from my new house as it is to Ann Arbor, so I figured for a date night with the husband we’d try something new. I was hunting on Unilocal and was drawn to this place due to the high reviews and Scotch olives. I made a reservation by phone after reviewing the menu. We were sat quickly upon arriving, as the table had been reserved for us. Sadly, I didn’t know it was restaurant week– but you wouldn’t have known considering how smoothly the place was running. You know how sometimes you get sat at a 2-top table, and it just seems really small? Not at this place. This 2-top table was large and spacious, and the layout is nice so that it doesn’t feel crowded. We were greeted by a very talkative(yet helpful and professional) server who gave us a menu tour, and offered some of his favorites to try. We ordered the scotch olives and the butcher board with bacon jam as an appetizer. The scotch olives were AMAZING. I’m so glad Unilocal introduced me to this place for that reason alone. We had these first, so it almost made the butcher’s board seem not as good– I could have eaten quite a few more olives! I had a small goat cheese soufflé salad, which was very tasty. The mix of cold greens with the warm soufflé was perfect. It was a nice size as well. My husband ordered the steak with oyster rockefeller side, and I had the scallop/cheek combo. Both were very delicious, and we were both very pleased. Along the way, the server or food runner would describe the meals we were being served, etc. When I asked for a dessert menu, the server brought us one, but then said he had ordered for a «dessert for two» sampler and that the house would be covering it, free of charge and took the menu away. We got a small sample of their dessert offerings, and my husband’s favorite was the pretzel crusted one with stout and IPA beer inside. We had a positively enjoyable experience, and I can’t wait to go there again!

My husband is from Toledo and we visited not long ago and heard so many rave reviews about Registry Bistro. We love trying new foods and were headed to a hockey game across the street, so we decided to check it out. To highlight the good things first: it’s in a great location, especially if you’re going to an event at the Huntington Center. The ambiance and décor is amazing. It’s modern and polished, definitely giving it an upscale vibe. We were seated promptly and waited for our other guests to arrive. In the meantime we ordered cocktails and appetizers. I was impressed with our Scotch Olives and the Butcher’s Board which included bacon jam and various cured meats. Also, our waiter was amazing and very professional throughout the entire meall. This is where things begin to decline. We ordered our main course and I tried the Bucatini Carbonara(topped with an egg) and some of my husband’s Oxtail dish. While each dish was very descriptive and sounded delicious, several members of our party, myself included, were disappointed with our selections. The Carbonara was made with very thick noodles that resembled something you’d find in an asian dish. The Oxtail was very fatty, as can be expected, and didn’t have much flavor. The biggest disappointment was how salty everything was. I love great savory flavors and was really hoping I’d get to experience that since the descriptions sounded so flavorful, but the salt overpowered everything. Lastly, we were a bit suprised once we got our bill and saw that we had surcharges for«specialty cocktails” — my husband’s moscow mules. They were $ 10 per drink and then the additional fee. We assumed it was because it wasn’t on their cocktail list but found it odd since a moscow mule is common drink, especially with the current trend of copper cups. It would have been nice to know that we were going to be charged additionally for drinks that weren’t on the menu even though they have a full bar. Also, I noticed that there were more varieties of white wines than red, especially in per glass options. This also varied prices quite a bit. For example, white wines were only between $ 7-$ 10 while reds were $ 8-$ 13 and most of those being above $ 11. Not a huge deal, but just something I noticed. Overall, the location, ambiance, waiter and appetizers were great. The main courses couldn’t be appreciated due to the heavy hand of salt used & the drink menu could use another look over to make sure that additional fees for regular drinks are clearly advertised.

It was a busy Friday night for our four-top. The food is just outstanding. The chef has lots of experience and shows her inventiveness in the menu. I had the short rib pot pie. It was unique, tasty, and topped with a very nice crust. The drinks are tasty, a nice pour, and reasonably priced for what they are. I had a Sazarac that was made well and served properly w/o ice. Other drinks on the menu looked enticing. We did not have any wine, but the list is ample and prices were moderate. Homemade Desert complimented a beautiful meal. Toledo should be proud to have this level of food so close to home. I can see only more success in the future if this food standard is maintained. The entry area front of the house was another matter. It was disorganized and the people were testy. I think a manager was there, older woman, but she didn’t do much to alleviate the problems. My guess they were overwhelmed and the young hostesses were not trained well. Hope this improves asap. 5* for the food. 4* for the service. 3* for the host area.

Place had great ambiance. The furnishings were tasteful, a sure date spot. Wifee not side piece lol. My waiter was knowledgable, and helped pick awesome drinks to accompany my meal. He was very attentive. The appetizer, a red snapper ceviche was awesome, and the presentation was great. The main course was trout with sage and hazelnuts… yum! Lastly I had my favorite cake tres leche and peaches although it had a burnt taste, that made it not so enjoyable. All in all it was a decent experience.

This is a great place to go for a nice meal. The bulgogi meatballs & kimchi were delicious– a must try! The meatballs had a kick to then. And the kimchi tasted pretty authentic! We also tried the naan. I thought that was tasty as well. Tasted like naan with bites of sweetness built in. The meatloaf burger was good although I asked for it to be well cooked but it came out pretty red. I guess restaurants don’t like when I ask for well done burgers. Overall, this is a great place to go for a nice meal!
