Great food and amazing beer. You have to try the crispy fried Duck wings. Perfectly fried with the spicy teriyaki sauce. Goes great with the Breakfast Blend stout.

This is one of my favorite places to visit when I’m in Toledo. Their beer selection is pretty good… the prices are reasonable and I’ve never had a beer I didn’t like.

We often eat at the Café within MBB– for lunch. It has a very lovely menu, quiet areas for conversations and the staff have been very, very attentive to us. NEVER pass on the quiche!

I got a bourbon barrel aged beer and I really enjoyed it. I would have had two but I was getting back in the car to drive back home to the Detroit area. I was there for lunch so it was dead but the atmosphere looked like it would be great at night. I had tomato basil soup which was really flavorful. The ham and cheese sandwich was really good.

My Experience:
Met some friends here for a Birthday dinner.
This was my first time ever coming here, so I had previously checked out the menu and premeditated my order.
Upon arrival, I saw a busy entrance leading up to a just before dinner-​hour rush. Nothing crazy but everyone was well seated and dining, I saw families, business dinners. a wide array of people come here.
The décor was old and new, antique steins and pull tabs, beautiful art and lighting.
All of that means absolutely NOTHING to me…
Because after we found our parties table, (which we were not escorted to, but given loose directions to) and after sitting for about 20 minutes, no one ever came to take our drink order! But they did, in that time come to tell us that the other table, that had been reserved 2 days prior was being given up for grabs.
I realize that you can only wait so long, and I respect it… but don’t say it’s been an hour when it’s been 35 – 40 minutes.
When the other table was gone, there was no reason to stay. A server didn’t come until we were walking away from the table. Unprofessional!
We took our party to San Marcos, had drinks, delicious food and a great time with minimal wait. Highly recommend!

Best ribs I have ever had! Atmosphere is great along with good beer. Will definitely be back for more.

The place inside is insane. There’s a downstairs café bar area that’s open for lunch and then the restaurant up top with lots of seating and a full bar as well. Their beer is rather good and my boyfriend and I were pleased with the flights we had. We also came here one night for dinner and was greatly impressed by their food. Lots of options and delicious. Would definitely come here again.

The beer here is delicious and will not dissapoint. If you are visiting Toledo in the Maumee Bay area, definitely stop by this brewery. Coming from Raleigh, I love local beer, so I was definitely looking foward to trying out a local brew. I had the blackberry wheat which was every bit as delicious as it sounds. This place is located in a historic building with lots of charm.

I’ll start off by qualifying this review… I do not drink beer, but my wife does. She and I were here mostly for the food. She did try the sampler of several beers and she enjoyed that immensely.
For food I tried the Perch Sandwich along with some Beer Cheese soup. The soup was quite tasty, maybe a bit thick but it was good. The perch sandwich was good also, not the best ever but definitely decent. It appeared that the bun was homemade or from a bakery. The pieces of perch on the sandwich (2) were a bit small, but tasted great.
I’d consider going to this establishment again. Our server was wonderful, and since she thought our order was received untimely, she treated us with a piece of chocolate cake — without us even asking !!!
Decent for sure.

We came for lunch on Saturday and had to eat the café because the brew pub doesn’t open until 3:00pm. No big deal since you can still get all the beers in the café. I’m actually glad because the brew pub menu looks like typical bar food selection, while the café menu had lots of interesting salads (and a variety of hot and cold sandwiches). I had the curried cauliflower and kale salad (awesome) and my sister had the quinoa salad, which was also delicious. The caprese BLT and the quiche Lorraine were also both highly praised at our table. The café website talks about all the pastries and cakes made fresh daily and has some beautiful photos of them, but I don’t actually remember seeing any while we were there, and they weren’t mentioned on the menu at all. Maybe there is a bakery counter in another room somewhere, but I was totally unaware.

Stopped by the Maumee Bay Brewing company on a recent visit to Toledo. When I’m traveling checking local craft brewing scene is a must. We were seated right away in the pub, we reviewed the beer list & menu looking to grab a bite to eat. Well we waited almost 10 minutes for server to come over and welcome us, we were just about ready to leave.
We started with a sampler to share of Red Saison, Glass Hopper IPA, Blackberry Belgian Wit and 3 others, but can’t remember what they were because the beer was okay nothing special. I’ve had better and it was served pretty much room temperature. We asked our waitress about this she said they receive complaints about the beer not being cold, but its served at the temperature the brewmaster requires.
The servers it being a brew pub were in long sleeve dress shirts with ties or bowties, pretty formal for the location, especially on a summer night, but the facility has several rooms with different ambiances and noticed the servers at times have to work room to rom.
The highlight of the visit was our food, my friend had chicken & waffles and I had the Caprise Chicken Sandwich, which is a pesto marinated chicken breast topped with mozzarella and sun dried tomato mayo — incredible combination, one of the best sandwiches I’ve tried this year.

While staying in Toledo for a professional event I was thrilled to find this place wasn’t far from our hotel and could offer some local beer and what seemed to be a bit of some upscale bar food.
On the beer: Our group enjoyed flights and sampling was MBBC had to offer, though some of the brews were perhaps either less traditional or just had weird notes, I can appreciate a place willing to take some risks while they continue to have their standbys. Overall, the beer was solid, but no one in our group really found anything they had to have.
And funny, because even if we found something we had to have, it seemed the staff didn’t want us to have it…(more on that in a sec).
On the food: I had decided to order a pizza, when our waitress informed me that there was a ‘party of 30 each ordering pizzas’ and so the wait would be long. As I started asking about other items, she said, «I’ll just tell the guys to slide your order in and get it done fast.» I had settled on another option, but she insisted she could get the pizza out fast. uhhh???
All in all, the food was pretty much as described, again, nothing that blew our mind or that we would go back for specifically, but it was better than what I thought we would find in Toledo.
Annnnd the service: This is where the stars were lost. The place wasn’t terribly busy (from what we could see) and there seemed to be plenty of other staff bustling around, but we just could not win.
–Two of our group arrived earlier (15 – 20 min) and ordered apps, they didn’t come until the rest of our food arrived. This MIGHT have been slightly acceptable if it didn’t take at least an hour for the rest of our food to arrive, with their apps.
–After our initial drink orders, we were NEVER asked if we wanted any other bevs-​no water refills, no additional rounds. Again, it’s a brewery, and our table had a few flights-​they were ready to order full pints, but were never given the chance.
–The debacle in my trying to order a pizza. I’m still confused by that, and am not sure if that perhaps delayed everyone else’s food
–We had to find our waitress (while on our way to the bathroom) to ask for our checks, which were then wrong and redone.
I feel like I’m a pretty reasonable person, but it has been a long time since I’ve experienced service that was this comically bad. And, unfortunately, that scars the experience, perhaps it was just this one waitress?
I’d give this place another try (hint: free popcorn at the hostess stand if you’re waiting on your food for forever), but adjust my expectations accordingly.

My cowboy burger with fries was a delicious combo. The bacon on top actually tasted like real bacon, and my burger was cooked perfectly to order. I also enjoyed my drink, the Blood Orange Wit. The entire atmosphere is just really cool– even the bathroom is interesting.

Came here as a recommendation from a friend, apparently this is a local favorite. My experience was quite the opposite unfortunately. The beer was so awful and tasted skunky. Even after I ordered a different beer with the same result. The crispy duck wings seemed to be popular but another disappointment. Maybe because they tasted as if they were sitting out all day. Ordered the woodfire pizza next but didn’t even come close to finishing it because it was again unpalatable. The venue was nice bar, you have to walk downstairs, lots of tv’s and such. Service was good and waiter was nice. I came on a weekday so maybe that made a difference.

To be fair and upfront, I’ve never been to the brewery, this is just reviewing their beers I’ve had.
I first had some at a Columbus Beer tasting event and was really excited to see a brewery from near my hometown represented at my college town! I grabbed my buddy and said we gotta try it…
Quickly that turned into an apology and further exploration of the 4 flavors they had on tap to try to justify maybe a bad batch, but alas, they were all quite bad. Not just meh, but actively hard to drink. The only beer I can really compare it to is a Milwaukee’s Best. I mean, some of the more courageous breweries come up with some duds now and then, but all four I tried were bad. Maybe they just need to go with their own food? I dunno, but I learned my lesson not to tout the hometown hero.

First visit to Maumee Bay Brew Pub and I wasn’t disappointed.
They have quite a few beers on tap and you can get a six-​beer sampler for $ 7.95. I enjoyed all my samples, but in particular I liked the Total Eclipse Breakfast Stout.
The giant pretzel appetizer truly is giant. It’s a really good tasting pretzel, and they give you mustard, cheddar beer sauce and cream cheese to go with it. Definitely not something to eat on your own. You need a table to share.
My cheeseburger was fine, although I was filled up with beer and pretzel and barely ate half. I took the rest home and it was fine reheated the next day. The fries are OK, although a little soggy (on the original day, not the day after reheated).
My only complaint was that it was so stuffy and warm. I guess because it was the first real warm day we’ve had, they didn’t have any AC on. It was too warm to feel comfortable and made me a bit groggy and tired.

Come for the beer, stay for the beer, but have a brick oven pizza as long as you’re here!
The atmosphere is great, the service always friendly, and the food and drinks are outstanding.
This place has a great «warehouse» atmosphere. It feels special while also being very relaxed and comfortable. Great for date night, or a family dinner!

Good food. Great service.
We visited the Brew Pub on a Friday night and we were not disappointed. I had the LARGE Cow vs. Pig burger and I could barely finish it. I was forced to deconstruct the massive amount of meat and eat them separately. If I were to nitpick, I would prefer the pulled pork have more BBQ sauce.
On to the service. Our waiter was exceptional. He was always attentive and we were never left wanting for anything. He also seemed genuinely happy to talk to us. This is the type of service that will keep me coming back, again and again.

We came here for Monday trivia night. It was a lot of fun. The waitress wasn’t overly friendly but she gave us good service.
The duck wings are a must try! We ordered it based on people recommendations on Unilocal and it did not disappoint.
For my meal, I got the cowboy burger. The cowboy burger was delicious! And at half a pound– it was more than enough to eat. It was so good that I was craving it the next day!
For dessert, we got the cheesecake which was pretty good.
Overall, coming here made for a fun Monday night– there was good food and trivia night was entertaining.
