It’s kinda scary to enter a book store that needs a security guard, but that is the first person you see as you enter this store. The people here are more hard-core than I realize! This store is narrow and hard to navigate because everything is right at the front door-the Nook desk, and right behind it the Starbucks café. You only have two paths to go from left(where the magazines and children’s area is(and the bathrooms) and the right, where the music, DVDs, and rest of the store is. The staff is helpful, but the feeling of being squished by stock made me leave way too early for my liking. I love bookstores, but this one is only okay! If you are going to go here, realize that it is tricky to park here. Keep an eye out!

Not my favorite, but it will do. I’m not a fan of chains in general, but had a gift card. This location gains a star for having the book(the Next to Normal libretto) that I had trouble finding. But loses a star due to the horribly obnoxious high school girls running around. I must have been there right as school let out. No matter where I was in the store, I could hear them, cutting my browsing time tremendously. Also leading to my distress… I couldn’t find the Anne of Green Gables books anywhere, but there was an entire section of «Teen Paranormal Romance».(When did that become a genre? Anne + Gilbert trump Bella + Edward any day!)

This Barnes & Noble isn’t as large as others, but its Toledo. But this is my favorite bookstore, the only thing that doesn’t make it 5 stars is the membership cost. I don’t have alot of time to do recreational reading, so paying $ 25 for the membership isn’t good enough for me. Saving only 10% off of regular merchandise. If its new, you get an additional 30% off, but I wait for reviews from trusted critics. I don’t like Starbucks, but I love that it is there. Their magazine’s are inferior to BooksAMillion but they are good enough for me. The kids area is the best of any other bookstore, it has a little reading area, its own checkout, nice space and design. If you go to Borders, it looks like a Library. I like how the books are displayed through BN. They also have an awesome media section with demo’s available everywhere.

This is my local bookstore. It recently gained a rival with Borders moving into town but BN wins hands down. It’s much more homey, lot more seating, larger selection, and servers Starbucks menu. The bookstore can get crazy on Friday and Saturday nights so prepare to wait for seating. You also have to wait in like a long time for help if you can’t find a book but when someone does help you they are usually very friendly and will get what your looking for. They also always have Harry Potter parties which middle aged women bring there little kids all dressed up so they can pick up a book they only they and there kid will never read. :) Only downfall being prices, sorry but I love and cheap used books.
