The owners are so sweet and helpful. I went in to buy some materials to make phó noodle soup: they gave me so many tips and all the ingredients are there in that little store. The pricing is very reasonable and they have a large variety to choose from. Will be back ;)

My fresh seafood go-to place. The best, best, best prices for crab in the Metro Area. I’ve been there when the coolers were being unloaded into tanks of crab FRESH from the Pacific Ocean docks that morning.

Surprisingly well-stocked for a little seafood market. I got enough goods to make Noodle soup with beef balls and they have Lychee, too. BONUS!!! What I like the most about this place was a young teen, who was VERYSTRAIGHTFORWARD(I like that in people«very refreshing», I say(although hard to find this good quality with so much BS in the world))! Her mom or the owner or whoever was a tough cookie herself. A male customer(super cheap, super rude, seemed to be somewhat retarded and have very selective hearing) was in the store while I was there. He wanted to buy a fish for $ 5, when it marked as $ 7. The lady said that she could go for $ 6. Just for a $ 1!!! She stood strong and didn’t give in, extra point for this lady! :) If you are those type who thinks everything should look like a palace and no spots on the floor or wall! Dude, this place is not for you! Go somewhere else like Safeway! Just sayin’

Hmm idk I’m a little iffy about this place. I walked in and had this horrible smell pass by me(kind of reminded me of how most small Asian markets smell). Anyways, I also had a feeling of un-welcomeness when I walked in, because once I walked in they just stared at me :/ Prices were pretty fair but there were flies roaming around every where(talk about not being sanitary and I was there around Feb– that’s WINTER! Insects aren’t even around??? 00). All in all, I’ll only come in if I have to but if I don’t then, you get the idea…

I love the progress they have made over the past three years. I remember when they first opened and had too much stuff in their small space. No longer, the space has grown to accommodate all the product. An example as to why I dig these folks so much: I came in to get some fish for dinner, and they were stocked fairly well with live fish in the tanks, but they wouldn’t sell me any. Evidently they had found a single fish showing signs of disease, and rather than risk bad product they disposed of the entire tank of live fish. I was struck by the integrity in this; rather than risk selling bad fish they were willing to take a serious financial loss. It’s this sort of dedication to customer service that makes Daxing a winner in my book.

I love me some crab. Live crab. Other places have it but not at these prices. You can’t beat small asian grocery stores/markets for cheap, live seafood. This place is seriously tucked away in the corner of nowhere(well, right next to JoAnne Fabrics) but it’s worth a trip if you need to stock up on your asian food and and seafood. They have about 3 big tanks of crab and lobster from what I saw last week. Being the end of the crab season it wasn’t too bad a selection. All the critters looked alive and active — always a good sign. Now I’m used to going to Chinatown in Chicago/SF to get my live crab and that’s a whole different kind of experience. You have to make your way past the live frogs, softshell turtles and other ‘alternative’ protien sources as you order up your clams and crustaceans but Daxing is a much more mainstream experience. No funky stuff… at least in the front where people can see. Looks like they’re expanding too. They’re just putting in some shelves and stocking up on grocery items so this should be a place where you can get most of your asian shopping done. The prices are cheap to reasonable. For the most part, everything here I found was cheaper than Uwajimaya. The produce secion is very small though. This place is a grocery store by the way — not a restaurant.
