I’ve had mixed experiences here. Staff is very nice but the hours are inconsistent, often closes early even on weekends. And the beer selection isn’t what you’d expect from a place with«PUB» in the name. Pizza is the best and once when I received the wrong pizza they let us keep the one they had made and compped a whole other pizza like 3 weeks later since I was out of town for a couple weeks. Final note: food is good but the erratic hours are annoying especially when I want a pizza from them and they are closed when they are supposed to be open.

Perhaps, I’m partially to blame… The Lamplighter Pub is a «pub» the same way that Dr. Pepper is a doctor, in name only. They only have three beers on tap, only serve drinks in styrofoam glasses(who doesn’t like drinking beer out of foam cups) and everything is served on paper plates. But I knew all of this. I live in Tifton, so I should know better. But I despite my hesitation, I decided to eat here anyway. As I was on my knees, vomiting profusely in the bathroom stall, wondering what hellish acts I committed to deserve such punishment, I realized that I was somewhat to blame. I should have known better. The other people in my party who got sick didn’t necessarily see it in the same light, but the one thing we all agreed on – besides the fact that the service, food, and general atmosphere is terrible and we will never eat there again – is the fact that we are lucky to live in Tifton with convenient access to restrooms. An interstate traveler stopping in would not be so lucky. Either way, don’t let the name deceive you. This is not a pub. Please do yourself a favor and eat somewhere else. I’ve heard Ruby Tuesdays has some good specials, especially if you have that BOGO coupon.

AVOIDTHISRESTAURANTATALLCOSTS. Lamplighter makes a convincing argument for ditching independent restaurants in Tifton and sticking with the chains near the interstate. I’ve eaten here three times since moving to the area in August. I’ve been disappointed each time. The last time, this afternoon, they hit a new low. In short, the service was extremely slow and flat-out dysfunctional. The food was terrible. It took over 40 mins to make subs for our table of 4. We didn’t order anything more complicated than a meatball sub. It wasn’t close to being crowded. In addition, I resent the fact that I can’t really leave an appropriate tip for poor service because the waitress ASKS you what you’d like to leave on your card. Very awkward. I spent the afternoon feeling terrible. I will never eat here again.

this place has been around for-freakin-ever. we use to go there and get kegs, but they don’t do that anymore. when i ate meat, i would religiously get the subs and they were always greasy and delicious. i returned there 15 years later for a veggie pizza and the place is exactly the same inside, but there is a very cool little patio outside now(maybe it was there before, i just never noticed). the pizza was delicious and the cold beers went down perfect on a hot south ga afternoon. always reliable lamplighter pub.
