T J Willie’s Fine Food & Spirits

A nice local place that I’m sure has had a good run. The place needs a makeover of the menu and décor because both scream 1980. The bar is especially bad. Needs more call brands… I.e. The tout margaritas but Cuervo is their best tequila! One bottle of decent bourbon (I think it was Woodford Estates). They had one decent tap beer, but wine I’m a box?!! I got sold the chicken fingers by the bartender as a special (no way I would have ordered it) and I got like 4 small pieces over a pile of old, dried potatoes. I went back and had a great pork chop. Maybe the owner is ready to retire and I respect that, but if not he needs to put some money back in the place because even Tiffin is entering the 2000’s and he needs to keep up.

First impression was of the two hostesses busing tables to seat people quicker. The wait staff was moving around fairly quick as well. My waitress checked on me 4 – 5 times during the meal.
I had ordered the lasagna, it came out too hot to eat, and covered with cheese. It had one edge that the cheeses was deliciously crusted and crunchy. I also had a Ceasar salad which was a chopped salad (+++). Overall a great experience!

I love the lasagne and tonite was no exception. The sauce is delish. Great service and great food !

Okay food is negated by poor customer service. I’ve been to TJ Willie’s about a dozen times, but after my experience today, I won’t be going back (which is a shame, because they have some bomb chicken fingers).
My mouth was watering because I knew EXACTLY what I would get — chicken finger basket with fries and General Tso’s sauce. Never have my chicken fingers been brought out drenched in sauce, it has ALWAYS been on the side. I ordered how I usually do, but they were brought to me with sauce on the chicken and sogging up the fries (under the chicken). So I asked to have the sauce separate. The server brought me fresh fries, but the SAME chicken with the SAME sauce on it… So by this time the chicken was cold. Even after stating it was incorrect, the server didn’t offer to make it right. So, I spoke to the manager, thinking «certainly he will fix this…» Clearly though, I am dumb. Because, instead of simply fixing it (i.e. SHOWING GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE by comping my meal or making it right) he proceeded to argue that I had ordered incorrectly… So, at the end of the day, I paid $ 5 for the only thing I ate, the mediocre salad.
Also, my friend paid in cash, but wasn’t given change. This is only the second time in my life I didn’t leave a tip and I usually leave a good 20−30%
I’m still craving those damn chicken fingers.

Not the best meal I’ve ever had. Steak was flavorless and overpriced. «Twice baked» potato was a bowl of mashed potatoes with cheese. Service was slow and inattentive. I’ll skip this place next time I’m in the area.

A little pricey, but clean place with good atmosphere and service. Good food and never leave hungry. Good BBQ ribs and perch.

First time here… used Unilocal to find a local restaurant. Chicken tenders «signature dish» are lightly breaded. Very good. Had BBQ sauce to go with them. Excellent sauce. Wait staff was prompt… Will come back again.

The atmosphere is ammmmaaaaazing. Not only that, but the décor is great as well. It’s comfortable and warm and even when busy relatively quiet. The food isn’t all that bad either. I love the mac and cheese and the chicken tenders. The loaded fries are delish as well! My husband, whom loves lasagna, even says their lasagna is good. I recommend it.

I tried a chicken sandwich. It was terrible. The chicken was dry, there were no toppings and there was really no flavor. It was also waaaay overpriced. The only good things are that the service was good and the atmosphere was pretty likeable.

One of my must haves when I come back home from California. They have renovated and expanded the bar and added a few TV’s there! I always get the ribs, a salad with house red french, french onion soup, and a twice baked potato.
If you go on a Sunday they offer all you can eat ribs. They make great drinks, and the server was a super nice. Our server had a smile and kept the drinks full. I would recommend stopping by if your passing by.
The remodel looks great, I enjoy the soft lighting and relaxing atmosphere. Stop by for lunch, diner or just to watch the game and have a few drinks with your friends.

From TN came on a business trip. The Lasagna Was really good. The service was good. I will definitely go back when I am back this way.

This is the best place in Tiffin to eat. The service is always wonderful and the place is clean. It is a great place to go with the family, meet for drinks or to have a banquet. I would highly recommend to anyone coming to the area and the locals. I grew up in Tiffin so it was staple when I was there and each time I go back it is still just as good as I remember. There is not a thing on the menu i wouldnt recommend. The owner is hands own and clearly works hard to make sure every custormer has a wonderful experience. They are known for the Ribs which are the best I have ever had and my other favorites are the salads, and the chicken salad crescent sandwich.

Great service, and nice atmosphere.
The food is good and in all actuality probably great when you consider the area and lack of dining options available to the public. The owner actually visited with me for a good while which is a real plus. It’s always nice to know the owner is on premise and checking up on the customers.
This is a sweet little family restaurant and a local favorite!

A nice place to get dinner in Tiffin. A favorite for steak in town as it is one of the nicer establishments in town. Good food at reasonable prices. Correction to bio as it definitely does serve alcohol.

The service is decent and it’s definitely a nice atmosphere. This is a good place to go when you need a break from fried food and pizza, although that’s because there’s no competition for T J Willies in Tiffin. Basically, it is overpriced, barely mediocre food but unfortunately one of the only restaurants of its kind in the Tiffin area.
I am from the area so I’ve been here numerous times and each time is unmemorable, well, except for the time they served me raw chicken.

Over priced– horrible service. I will not be going back.

Nice décor and very friendly and helpful service. I had the pulled pork sandwich. Good portion and good flavor. My 15 year old daughter had the chicken fingers and she really enjoyed them
