What more could one possibly ask for in a diner? The menu is simple, the food truly reminds me of eating at my grandmother’s place, there is old country playing on their jukebox, locals chatting about the day’s news, reasonable service and wood paneling in the hallways. Vickie’s is a time-machine

Vickie takes your order, she goes back and makes it, you eat while looking out on the quiet town of Tieton, and listen to the locals talk about events. You settle the bill with Vickie in-between her cooking and talking with the customers, and she gives you a smile while saying thanks for coming in. Nothing’s broke here that needs fixing, it really is that simple. If, like me, you appreciate these things, then this place will seem like heaven. If this isn’t your thing then what are you doing in Tieton?

We love this place. Vicki is has owned it 43 years. Half her life. She is wonderful and funny and a good cook too. We have driven from Auburn(2.5 hours) just to have breakfast and go back in time. To a nicer time. note: Mark N. nails it in his review. I’m t(the one that doesn’t use his name) should stick to McDonald’s and High Fructose Corn Syrup. I am Paul West, aka vintagehotdog.

For those connoisseurs of cuisine, and seekers of nostalgia I highly recommend Vickie’s Tieton Café as a place to order breakfast and lunch all day… well at least until 3pm! Vickie still owns, operates, and cooks for her patrons — an does a «bang-up» job of it at that! The café is cozy, the staff is down to earth, and the food(of course) is excellent!
