This place has amazing food and great service. I went here last month with my husband and we had the best lasagna ever. Almost better than my Italian grand mother’s. The food was fresh and the wine selection was great. I recommend trying their Chicken piccatta also.

Mediocre food, mediocre service. Absolutely does not deserve its following amongst locals. Far from international standards for all its dishes, even though pricing is not low. Avoid.

Amazing! I had the lasagna bolognese and my partner had the carbonara + shrimp. Excellent service. No waterfront views here but a very comfortable dining experience with GREAT prices and portions. Would definitely come back again!

I called on a Thursday for Friday reservations, they said fine — 6pm. We were staying overnight in Tiburon, and when I Googled«highest rated restaurant» in Tiburon on Unilocal, this was the clear winner. We got there at 5:55(short walk from our hotel — Tiburon Lodge) and they didn’t see our reservation — But they seated us anyway. Important to note that for the party in front of us who said they did NOT have a reservation were told they had to wait — we had a reservation — but even though they didn’t see it listed, they believed me and gave us a two-top — so I guess confidence in answer here is king.(coincidentally — as we were leaving I heard another person with my same/common last name and they said they didn’t have her reservation either.) I had read a lot about the lasagna and the carbonara(and the bread). Sounded like the lasagna was on the menu — but it is NOT on the menu — it is on the specials chalkboard — but might be one of those things that is always a special(unless they run out) — We had a VERY Italian waiter, who took good care of us. We split a bottle of Pinot. We ordered to share: a caesar salad, the carbonara, the veal saltimbocca and(as viewed on another table) a side order of two meatballs(great call!). Bread: very good, I would have like butter — but I didn’t ask — they gave us seconds we used with the meatballs Salad: really good — very cheesy and might have been a bit overdressed, but served on a cold plate and split for us. Carbonara: I have had better– but lots of pancetta Veal saltimbocca: big portion of 3 pieces of veal, served with mashed potatoes and mixed veg Meatballs: my fav on the table — the red sauce was CLASSIC, and so good.(we thanked the table next to us as they were leaving for the tip) All the food was served pretty fast, I suppose I would have preferred a slower serving pace(we were done with our food in 45 mins), but there was no pressure to finish our wine. Tab was $ 102 before tip.

Just moved to Tiburon, tried Don Antonio, amazing. I had the baby lamb chops from New Zealand and my fiancé had cheese ravioli. Both were amazing! The best lamb chops I have ever had and were cooked perfectly. The cheese ravioli was so fresh, obviously hand made pasta, just like we had in Rome. Our service was wonderful too. Make a reservation, this place is small and gets very busy. By 7pm there were dozens of people waiting to get in. Free parking in the lot behind the restaurant. Ciao!

Excellent food but very poor service with the premium amount that you pay. Came here last night with 2 of my cousins. We felt discriminated because we are the only Asian people at the restaurant(that’s how I felt). The Man wearing a black shirt who sat us to our table even told my younger cousin where to sit, she is 10 and she knows what she’s doing. I believe he is the Manager/Owner of the place because he talks to every table and was very friendly to them but he didn’t even bother checking on us. After our meal I came to him and mentioned that Food was fantastic but not the service and he didn’t even say a word. I am very sure that there are other way more better establishments in the area that offers Phenomenal food plus Excellent service.

Wow, what a hidden gem this place is! The food is SUPERB, definitely one of the best Italian restaurants in Marin. Pretty much any dish you pick tastes wonderful. The owner is always there to make sure you are experiencing perfection. Really cute and cozy ambience and super easy parking. Looking forward to come back there.

Awesome place for a nice romantic dinner. It’s small, so you may want show up early if you don’t have a reservation. Luckily, we got there shortly after they opened for dinner and were able to get a table for two, but the place filled up very quickly and there were a number of groups waiting to be seated by the time we left. Don’t mind the slightly pretentious maitre d’. He’s harmless. The food was great and our waiter was very nice. This place is worth checking out if you’re in the area and in the mood for Italian.

I must say that this Italian place has great food and wine and service. However, the only sad fact about it since it is downtown Tiburon, it doesn’t have that many people of every race and color. We need more people to come here and spread the love. Their pastas are to die for. I had one of the best pastas here with a red wine. It’s very delicious! The compel who own the restaurant are very sweet and welcoming. If you are in Tiburon, you must visit this place. I like how it’s very hidden like a real Italian restaurant in the small streets of Italy!

Took 50 minutes to get entrees. Pasta was not drained adequately and tasted watery and bland. When asked how dinner was told host it was less than impressive and took a long time. Host response was this is not McDonalds. My response your right McDonalds has better food and you do not have to wait 50 minutes. Host offered comp wine or desert but after insult did not want to stay any longer. Wanted to make we got to McDonalds before it closed.

We are only giving two stars for the amazing food… Average meal is $ 50(That is $$$) The service. absolutely horrid… Were we not dressed to standard? We came a bit early. before the«dinner rush» and had to wait for a table… though half the tables were unoccupied. Why were other tables receiving additional bread while were left watching them indulge in the mouth watering loafs… Here is the part that really upset us… We paid with a large bill… the remaining change was above 20% of the total bill… We sat there for nearly TWENTYMINUTES(20 minutes) before asking for the change and receipt. Was the waiter trying to prove a point ??? The only two people there that had smiled and treated us like human beings had been the person whom took us to our table, and the manager(or boss, that had been in a tie and suit) that brought us the bread… We recommend taking out rather than sitting in… or go to the neighboring establishment.

This place is AMAZING! It’s tucked away in the cute little downtown area of Tiburon. It’s the most gorgeous place I have ever seen! Then we find Don Antonio! A cute, romantic little spot that is popping with business and I now know why. The food is amazing!!! I’m definitely making this a must stop place whenever I’m back in the bay area.

Excellent Italian food. The lasagna bolognese is to die for! The waiter suggested getting bread for the table(which we initially refused) to soak up the sauce from the lasagna. Great advice, as the sauce was so good that none of it should have gone to waste. In fact, I’m not sure I can order anything else when I go back, the lasagna was just that good. The restaurant is very cozy and when full, it can be a little cramped and loud, but not overwhelmingly so. The food more than makes up for it.

Wonderful! The spinach ravioli with tomato/basil special was light and delicious. The carbonara not too heavy and very nicely done. The pesto fettuccine with verdura was perfect. The bread was uncommonly good. Chianti made the meal perfect. Make sure to try the chocolate mousse. It is so good it will make you cry!

I will say this. Like many first dates, my first encounter with Don Antonio was a bit awkward. We had called and made reservations. There was nowhere to wait… no one greeted us… there was clearly a meltdown happening in the kitchen… none of the attempted diners jammed into the four feet that might be called a lobby knew who was first in line. The chef/owner/maitre d was running around like a chicken with his head cut off. After we let them know we had arrived and were told to wait(apparently reservations are more like putting your name on a list after the locals/regulars have been served) we waited. And waited. Chatted with a lovely old couple whose bar seating faced the front door and we were literally a foot and a half in front of them, so it would have been awkward not to. I made friends with a little kid out front and talked about local pizza places. After about twenty five minutes with absolutely no contact/update from any of the staff, I attempted to politely ask what the timeline might be. Now, I can be difficult, but I was on my best behavior here, I promise. What happened next was like something out of a Gordon Ramsey tv show. The«headless chicken» basically took my question as a slap of the glove across the face, and escalated my question into a situation where it took everything I had not to invite him to an honor duel to the death. I again, dug deep into my inner reserves of composure as the Unilocal reviews are SOOOO shining, I really wanted to eat here, and simply let it drop. Once a few minutes had passed I got a tepid half-hearted apology, but I was literally a few BP points away from stroking out. I’ve never been closer to a fight, without actually fighting. Ultimately we ate. It was good. The wine was good. The place was packed but not uncomfortable. I might go back. I think, however, you might imagine that the«experience» itself was a little tainted by the reception. I can’t recall what we ate. I can’t recall what we drank. I don’t know if it was expensive, or really expensive. I just remember seeing red. Which wasn’t on the menu.

This is my 400th Unilocal review woot woot! For this Pokemon battle I chose what I think is the best Italian restaurant in Northern California, Don Antonio Trattoria. Tiburon isn’t your typical NorCal town, it has the European vibe to it with the houses on the hill looking over the Bay. Tiburon is like The Hamptons of San Francisco Bay Area, beautiful houses, clean streets, amazing views, and 99.9% white. The restaurant itself is located on Main Street near the random, murderous looking movie theatre. You probably won’t find parking on the street so you’ll have to park in the«gated» lot, I think it’s around $ 4 an hour. Each time I’ve been here the owner was very welcoming with his Matthew McConaughey like presence. Onto the food, I highly endorse, recommend, praise, favor, advocate, suggest the Capellini Pescatore. The dish consists of shrimp, clams, mussels, scallop, and fish in a marinara broth with Capellini. Capelli in Italian is hair so the pasta is very thin. It is somewhat similar to the San Francisco Cioppino but without the crab. The dessert is so good here I would drive here every weekend if I could to get the house made tiramisu(best I’ve had in the country), tartufo(hazlenut/chocolate ice cream with heavenly crunchies), and the chocolate mousse. I believe the restaurant is only open for dinner which starts around 5 pm and they close around 10. If you’re visiting SF its very close, about 15 minutes away once you get on the Golden Gate Bridge. I haven’t been to Italy but I am from New York which is basically Italy 2.0. From all the Italian food I’ve eaten in NY and Cali, this is the best I’ve had.
