My friends took me here during my bachelorette weekend and I was impressed! The vineyard is still new, you can tell by the thin stalked grape vines that sit next to you on the hill. I imagine that this vineyards delicious wine will continue to improve with time and more mature grapes. The atmosphere is really what makes this place stand out. They have a lovely outdoor seating area complete with a pergola and a firepit. The staff are lovely and attentive. Joe is fabulous fun during a tasting you absolutely must ask for him when you’re there!

Loved this place! Came here on a bachelorette weekend and the staff bent over backwards to make sure we felt welcome. The vineyard is still relatively new and working on building the place up a bit, but theres not doubt that with the quality of their wine and service they will be a destination spot in no time!

Very young vineyard with delicious wines and knowledgable friendly service directly from the wine maker and sometimes the owner. Enjoy the meads they are wonderful. The views are great and they are working on the building. Baby stepping in growth and I see many great grapes to come!

Small/boutique winery. They have 3 different tastings to choose from. Purchased a cab and enjoyed it under the pergola with friends. It’s a nice way to spend the afternoon.

Fruit flies everywhere! It was like being in the Scotish Highands in the midst of their ‘summer’. Through the black clouds of fruit flies my wife bravely sampled the wares of the vineyard. It seemed a bit disorganized, the setting was not he best nor was the presentation of the wines. A few good plonks to be had though. Hopefully their plans for their new tasting rooms wil rid us of the flies, the black dog barking & a whole better setting.

Beautiful place. Wish they had cheese and meats to serve or buy because we would have stayed longer.

Make sure you go in spring or fall or on a cooler day, at least until the new tasting room is available. They have some unique honey wines, if you like the sweet stuff. Otherwise the wine is very average. There’s no bathroom, and you can’t expect more of an experience than just the wine.

We took some friends here, it happened to be their very first wine tasting and this was a good choice! Unlike many vineyards, they had three tasting lists that you could choose from — with very reasonable prices($ 5 – 6), so there were lots of choices. The glass is also included in the price. The location is really stunning in the mountains, lots of outdoor seating to enjoy some snacks and a glass or bottle. The wines themselves were very good, it’s a young vineyard with lots of honey wines for those with sweeter palates. Certainly a fun visit and worth your time.

Brought a wine tour group here, what a lucky find! Parking available right next to tasting area with plenty of outside tables to enjoy purchases. Came on Mother’s Day to find live acoustic music being played with a nice mix of classic rock, and even a couple modern songs thrown in. Definitely going to bring my family back ASAP ! Plus I got a discount on a bottle of wine for my Mother’s Day gift to my wife for bringing a group in a limo! The proprietor even thanked my guests by name on the way out. Definitely a local business I will continue to endorse. My guests tried the wine since I was driving and gave it best of the three wineries we visited. I love happy accidents!

As a native Thurmontonian I was feeling nostalgic going by old stomping grounds I have not been to in years and stopped by Catoctin Breeze. I am delighted this winery chose Thurmont for its venue, convenienty located across from the Orchard, I picked up some cheese/crackers for a tasting [I was advised they normally have goat cheese and crackers as well]. The setting is beautiful, with the mountain backdrop, slated on a hill giving a nice view after a little hike up. As noted above, I tried everything– [both menus], I especially liked the Symphony oaked Chardonnay and got a glass as well as a bottle. I appreciated it being served very chilled on a hot summer day, it was smooth; not too crisp. I did not try it unoaked, I’ll have to go back for kicks and try it that way. The meads were interesting and I liked the suggestions of serving in the Fall or at Thanksgiving-I enjoyed the Dolce Vita. The owner, Voytek Fizyta was very personable, as well as the person behind the ‘bar’. …I’ll be back!

Decided to stop in at Catoctin Breeze for a tasting and was very pleasantly surprised! The location and view is absolutely beautiful! That alone is worth the trip. The wines were very good and the staff was very knowledgeable and personable. The tasting room for now is a shed like facility, but huge and not the same shed you are storing your lawn mower in. This is much nicer. The official tasting room is set to open in 2014. There are two different tasting menus that they offer. One is a comparison and the other a general tasting. We did the general tasting and enjoyed all the wines we tried the tasting was $ 6 and you did get to keep your glass. Definitely worth the trip, such a nice way to feel like you are getting away without having to go too far!
