Top Hat Chimney Service was hired to come to Santa Clarita and they did not do what I paid for. I needed a chimney inspection for my soon to be home. My credit card was charged Monday and Tuesday Joel showed up to the home that needed inspection. My agent arrived on time and Joel had already been there for 30 minutes, with the sellers of the home. At the time she did not know that he had not done a video(which we paid for). He did not say much to her at the time and seeing that the sellers were there, okay. But then, he had the sellers sign the invoice(as the customer) and handed it to my agent. It had a couple of notes but it did not have 1) an estimate, 2) anything about said video, 3) or a report. We called him over the next day several times. When he finally returned my agents call, he denied having agreed to the video, but then admitted to overcharging me. He denied agreeing to writing a report as well. I am the paying customer and he still has not contacted me at all. He also hung up on my agent. So what did I pay him for? An invoice? Very unprofessional and it will end up costing me more as I need to get another inspection. Waste of time.

Two guys from Top Hat Chimney Service came out to my rental house today in Ventura county, and they were great… They were a bit late(25mins) but they did call me and let me know they were running late. They were very clean and help with my smoke problems . I will be using them again next year for my chimney sweep.
