Never again! Placed our order and we were missing an item. When I went to the counter the guy said I did not order anything extra was extremely rude and demanded to see the reciept. When I showed him that we did order extra, he threw the receipt down and retrieved the missing item. When he returned he did not offer an apology or anything so I said something about it, to which he turned and walked away. Simply put the service was beyond rude and the food was ok. I won’t be back!

Started ok with a nice sample of the chicken teriyaki to which I enjoyed. I further found that it was a special so decided to order, I spoke to the register as I would any only to find I was speaking to a chinky eyed bitch who repeated everything I said as a question after I said it. «May I have a chicken teriyaki please?» «Chicken teriyaki?» «Yes… And a small drink.» «Small drink?» You can image how this frustrated me. But I was able to order what I desired. I then saw a sign in an odd place to begin with but none the less stated I could have changed my rice for noodles for fifty cents. This seemed like a good idea so I hopped back in line after the people who had been behind me. I asked if I could make the switch or if it was too late. An older chinky eyed muffin took a quick look at the grill(of which my meal was no where close to being prepared) looked right back into my eyes and which a thick, annoying accent said«nuh … too rate»(late). Very well, I thought, perhaps they prefer to keep things moving during their dinner rush. Little did I know they like to keep things going very slow and unorganized as I saw people almost walk away with others meals, people served after those in line behind them, and overall poor meal call outs. It was clear the cooking staff was to be separate from the communicating staff. Though the fat cooking chink was left alone to provide the finished meals, of which he did a horrible job. In conclusion however, the meal was filling and good, but was not worth the hassle or wait. Would not recommend.

I stopped here for lunch the other day and was pleased with the quality and speed of my meal. I got a basic shrimp teriyaki plate which included white rice, shrimp + mushrooms grilled in teriyaki sauce in front of me, and some hot veggies(cabbage, carrots, etc). I am a person who likes simple flavors and nothing spicy and this meal delivered. I found the taste to be a little dull, but I enjoyed it immensely and they do offer a range of sauces you can add to your food if you want to add some heat to it or sweet/sour sauce as well. The price was okay(high, but as expected in a mall food court) and the speed was good. I would get this same dish again. The shrimp was cooked just perfectly, not overcooked and maybe just a tiny bit shy of being fully cooked but soft, tender, flavorful and juicy.

I used to frequent Sarku when I was in Bay Area. Now I don’t get to see them a lot in Orange county. Decided to grab lunch here when I was in 1000 oaks. They had lunch special — chicken teriyaki for $ 6. Good pile of rice, veggies and meat.

Took very long to make my sushi roll for lunch. Worst part? They did NOT use sushi rice! They used regular rice. The whole thing fell apart. That’s not how sushi is supposed to be. Almost $ 8 for a pile of regular rice, imitation crab that was really fishy smelling and tasting as well as no avocado inside? I found about half a piece. Not worth it. The chicken teriyaki roll fell apart in the box. And was very warm. So disappointed. I’ve tried the bentos here and they are a rip off as well. The chicken is very suspect and doesn’t have the texture of chicken so I doubt it is. People are nice, so 1 star for that but the food is a real negative. Never coming here again!

I can only say Unilocal you did it again you almost scared me away from going to a restaurant because of the bad reviews that the place has. I went to today and a couple of times before and the food is always great the portions are big the people are friendly I don’t know what the issue is. Fast service friendly people good food what more do you want

No wonder this place has low ratings, the portions of food are small and the prices are high. The quality of the California rolls you have to be joking with me because they are disgusting with no taste at all to them. From now on I will stick to authentic Japanese cuisine at a real sushi bar. This was the last time I’ll be coming to this restaurant.

This place is very good for what it is. First off, the prices are very reasonable and despite reviews saying otherwise, I find the customer service efficient and kind. While the food is good not great, it is a 6 dollar meal in a good court and expecting anything more isn’t valid.

One of the worst meals I’ve ever had. I got the chicken bento box for 8.99. The chicken was extremely tough, and I found 3 chunks of gristle(cartilage) in my meal. The tempura had the texture of a leather boot. The California roll was barely a roll and more closely resembled a pile of rice and imitation crab. The grilled vegetables were ok, but it was mostly lettuce with just a few tiny bits of carrot and broccoli. A bento box from an actual Japanese restaurant is much, much better and costs even less.

Food is decent if you want a quick and easy teriyaki fix, but the service is horrible. Apparently, their coupons for $ 1 off ANY teriyaki meal and a drink only applies to the Chicken & Shrimp combo, because that’s the picture that happens to be on the coupon. I ordered Sprite, but was given Diet Coke. When I pointed this out, I was glared at and then given a two-thirds full cup of the drink I originally asked for. When my girlfriend ordered chicken dumplings, it took three employees to figure out what she wanted, even after she showed them the sign advertising the dumplings. Sorry, but the food isn’t near good enough to put up with crap like that.

This place is consistently good. It’s 5 stars worthy for what it is, then again it’s like an teriyaki chicken place so as to why I wouldn’t warrant it an actual 5 stars per Unilocal, wouldn’t want people having too high of expectations for a mall food court quick stop. Order at the counter, food cooked to order, and boom your done. Any place that’s serving up a meal cooked in front of you, in under 5 minutes for around $ 7 is a steal! Good food for what it is, friendly cashiers/cooks, and they’ve added business cards that you can get stamped to reward you with a free teriyaki bowl. Sounds good to me :)

My family loves the teriyaki chicken but man this place has one of the worst customer service and most of the time your gona wait a while for your food… yes you have to wait for mall food people. Is it worth the wait… maybe but you’d think they’d know by now when the busy times are… if the customer service was better and they would at least let you know that you’d have to wait then they would probably get at least 3 stars.

OK — I’ve been here many times … and in other locations I’ve had their fare many times. With so may visits it is safe to assume I like their grub. I always get the same thing… the teri Chicken $ 5.49 with double chicken for an extra $ 1.49. Looking at the other dishes and their sushi or tempura it seems unwise to even try them. So I can understand the disappointment in other remarks posted here — and that’s a shame because they ordered the wrong dishes. Granted this means they only have ONE decent or good dish — the chicken — but it is good enough to keep them from going OUT of business! So GO and stick to their signature Chicken dish and you’ll be fine!

When most people were ordering the Chicken Teriyaki, I was the one that asked for beef and shrimp. The beef was frozen and flavorless and the shrimp was the same. Instead of the rice that came with the dish, I asked for noodles. It was gummy and not good. Rice would have been a safer option. I would never come back here.

Make sure to get the chicken teriyaki great deal! I’ve had this multiple times and each time I get the vegetables there’s literally no broccoli maybe one piece if I’m lucky.

Save your money! I paid almost $ 30 for two bento boxes and two drinks. They were out of salad dressing but didn’t bother to tell me before they sold me the food. Then the manager said he’d substitute vegetables for the salad, but forgot. Last but not least, no tempura sauce for the tempura. Should have gotten Panda Express.

Because it is mall food I gave it 2 stars. But come on I paid $ 6 for 6 pieces of spicy tuna and ot was almost all rice and it was hot. Sushi is not suppose to be hot. NEVERAGAIN.

Eh better Asian food around here for the same price. I had the shrimp terryaki bowl for 7 dollars it was not worth it. The sauce had no flavor the shrimp was undercooked. Not satisfied.

The lunch special includes a generous portion of fried chicken. I asked for vegetables instead of my rice and they were very accomodating.
