This guy was great I blew a .08 on the limit and I was able to get my case dismissed hes a cool guy too, I recommend this guy highly get him you won’t regret it and this was.

Attorney Robert F. Sommers was amazing. My BAC was more than double the legal limit, and attorney Robert F. Sommers fought to get me the best deal I could have ever possibly walked away with. He drastically reduced the charges I was originally given. For example, I was supposed to have an interlock ignition device on my car, and thanks to Mr. Sommers, that is one of the many headaches I DO NOT have to deal with! He knows the different judges in Ventura County and will move your case back until the case falls into the hands of a judge who is most merciful. I am extremely happy with the outcome of my case and would not have been able to accurately represent myself. He is very knowledgable and very nice, every time I have a question about any paperwork I receive in the mail from court, Mr. Sommers is extremely explicative and makes sure I understand everything. Always returns calls when I leave a message. I am extremely happy with the outcome of my case, and I definitely recommend him to anyone who is gong the stresses of dealing with a DUI! He will save you!!!

Do not waste your money, the county of Ventura does not bargain with DUI’s at least that’s what Robert told me. He said he would get me the best possible outcome. But he got me nothing other than what I would’ve gotten if I represented myself. Don’t waste your money. He was always on vacation but available to take payment. He didn’t listen, I told him I already enrolled in the DUI classes but that didn’t make it in court because they assigned me to another DUI class. If I had of represented myself I would be $ 1500 richer

Robert Sommers represented me in an unfortunate situation where I wound up with a DUI arrest of .08… I could not have chosen a better attorney. Not only was he thorough in his explanation of what was to come, he conveniently handled every aspect of this potentially tiring process which allowed me to continue living my life without constant concerns of having to show up in court. With that said, I never had to enter the courtroom (he showed up for me) and the results went as well as could be expected due to his diligence in handling my case. He was able to get community service waived nor did I have to spend additional time in jail. Another important factor, Bob always answered my calls or responded to my messages within minutes of wanting to speak with him, which I found to be extremely important while up against something like this. This attorney knows his stuff when it comes to the stringent courts of Ventura County. I would recommend him to anyone who has the misfortune of getting a DUI…

this attorney is totally worthless… ZERO VALUE ADDED!!! if you’ve had the misfortune of getting a dui and are considering hiring an attorney, do yourself a favor and do not hire this guy. at your free consult he will tell you how successful he is because he is «a former Ventura County Deputy District Attorney» and knows both sides of the system. he will also tell you stories about how he has been able to dismiss or drastically reduce charges for clients that were 3−4x over the legal limit… (stories that will leave you feeling optimistic about your own case/​odds of winning…*if* you hire him…)
he touts himself as being «the most experienced and well-​known DUI defense attorney in the county» but that ended up being pretty laughable considering the moment i signed the agreement and made a 50% payment he told me there wasn’t much he could do for me unless i took it to trial for an additional $ 5−7k!!! (i blew a .08 on the PAS and later a .11 on the second test… technically, a third test should have been done to prove my BAC wasn’t still ‘rising’ but he didn’t care. he said «the arresting officer was one of the ‘more experienced officers’ and was ‘very thorough’ in his report; that there wasn’t much he could do without preparing for a trial».
not only was he worthless in terms of the results (or lack therefore of!) he was exceptionally difficult and annoying to email and communicate with. he doesn’t make himself available to you AT ALL and only answers emails/​calls and provides information when it is convenient to him. he will also lie to your face with BS excuses when you call him out on his lack of professionalism.
utter and complete waste of almost $ 2000.
SERIOUSLY, IF YOU HAVE HALF A BRAIN AND CAN SMELL OUT ANY KIND OF DECENT ADVICE… DO NOT GIVE THIS MAN A PENNY OF YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY. YOU WILL NOT GET AWAY WITH ANYTHING AND WILL REGRET (EVEN MORE THAN YOUR DUI!) THAT YOU HIRED THIS MAN AND BOUGHT WHAT HE WAS SELLING.
