Nice place to get your kabob dinner to go. Ordered a few kabob plates ‘family style’ which means they package it up nicely in aluminum containers. Makes serving much easier at home. I shopped at the attached market for extra flat bread ‘lavash’, humus, & shallot dip. After I found my items, my dinner order was ready… Practically no wait at all then. Let’s say 10 mins. You pay for everything at the counter at attached market. Place was super clean. Service was nice and efficient. Food was ok. Generous portions. Take out packed with care. My family enjoyed the beef kobideh. The chicken kobideh was a little dry. I’d recommend this place and I’d definitely be back.

The food is really bad. I bought the eggplant stew, and it was like eating tomato sauce out of a can. Just horrible! Then I got chicken kabob, and it tasted like sponge. Totally bland. I guess they have not heard of marinating the chicken in onion and lemon juice before grilling. The saffron rice is not even real saffron. It is food coloring, I think. It definitely does not taste like saffron. Well, I will no longer be buying food from their kitchen. I will stop by the market once in a while to buy bread and other groceries. Nothing cooked.

Food quality is very good, but service is like the soup nazi. They only give rice and tomatoes with your choice of protein and do NOT accommodate substitutions. I wanted salad instead of rice but they wanted to sell me a whole salad instead. I will not go back, as there are many other places which are great about accommodating. For such a small and simple menu, they need to get with the program!

I’ve been shopping here for years. I have always loved this place and these owners. Most recently I purchased Athena stuffed grape leaves in a can from them. I didn’t think to check the label, dummy me. Thought since this was a Persian market, all products were either made by them or they sold products that were from the Mediterranean. Nope When I got home, I looked closely at the can and read that the product was manufactured in P.R.C. aka China! What the heck is stuffed grape leaves coming from China for? I did a search on the distributor, Kradjian Imports in Glendale. Kradjian boasts Mediterranean products on their site, however they don’t tell you they outsource to China for those products. Additionally, Kradjian was hit by the FDA a few years back for distributing bottled water across the USA that included arsenic. The company was directed to «recall» all their product. I called Diar Market and the woman that runs the store answered. I explained my shock of their selling such products from China. She said all their customers know they sell food stuffs from China and they are OK with it. Well, I don’t know about that. Certainly if we have to have caution of dog treats coming from China because of poisoning our dogs, certainly we don’t want to serve Chinese foods imports on our family tables. A local middle eastern friend of mine told me that Kradjian has been cited for a number of things over the years. I didn’t go into detail with him as finding the arsenic in their bottled water online and the product at Diar from China was enough for me! While I love the products that Diar makes themselves, I no longer trust what is sold at this store. With so many options, to choose to sell stuffed grape leaves that are made in China is a mystery to me. In fact, why do that and at the same time claim their meats are Halal? I don’t know what I’m going to do in the future for the specialty items that I have long purchased from this market. My trust in them has sunk. Certainly unlabeled products is an absolute no go for me at Diar Market at this point. I’m quite sad to report this. I’m even sadder that Diar Market clearly doesn’t care and in fact they seemed to take offense when I expressed my concern over the safety of Chinese canned imports given the recent dog poisoning over Chinese chicken treats imports.

We ordered a bunch of food for takeout. The portions are generous & they even include a small side of yogurt with shallots. Everything was delicious!

Getting sick and tired of the same old stuff in my city, I decided to look up what possibilities I have for food out of my «comfort zone». My normal go to would be Mama’s Hummus, but I wanted to give other places a shot and came across Diar. It is located in it’s own plaza/parking log, with a really small dining area, with about 95% of it being a market(groceries). The menu isn’t big, but I knew I wanted chicken and beef koobideh. I also ordered the eggplant dip(Kashkeh Bademjan). The chicken and beef are both flavorful. They were not juicy, but were not dry either. It was good, but I’ve had more flavorful and juicier koobideh. The garlic sauce was great with smearing it on the kabobs. The combo price on their website is no longer $ 9.99, it is now $ 10.99, the dip is still $ 6.99. Eggplant dip was good, but I’ve had a better version of it at other places. I probably would not get this again. They give you a side of garlic sauce, sumac, lemon, and flatbread(I believe for the dip). Over all, a good alternative, especially since the Persian market that had a café closed down and not too far from my home. I will be back to try the other kebabs.

Since I work close to this market/restaurant and if I have a hankering for Persian food I will stop by this restaurant and grab a combo number 14 which is only $ 10.99. The food is cooked fresh within 10 to 15 minutes and comes with bread and sumac and tons of rice which will fill you up. The meat is juicy and full of flavor and bountiful in size.

One of the gems in Thousand Oaks. Fresh delicious food and reasonable prices for the amount of food you get. You’ll probly not be able to finish all they give you. The lunch specials are always good but the #9 is the way to go for me. And trust me there will always be leftovers. The owner as we’ll is really really kind and very involved and loves to satisfy his customers.

I give them 2 stars for 2 reasons, first their grocery is more expensive than other persian stores while is the same stuff and the food is the same price at a sit down persian restaurant while its just take out. Second it smells like a kitchen in the store all time. Seems like there is no fan in their kitchen. You walk in for 2 minutes to grab something and you come back stinky. Smell like fried food and oil all over. Thats why I really hesitate to go there even though I need to.

They have a great selection of Persian products. As a vegetarian I love the precooked foods they have in jars that I just heat up and eat with rice.

I usually go all the way to Winnetka to get some of the Persian stuff I need. I am married to a Persian so I need some of the ingredients sometimes, which are not always easy to find. Anyway, a client of mine told me about this place and decided to try it. I am so happy I did! Not only did I get to do some grocery shopping, I also got dinner! Half the store is a store, half is a restaurant(does not have tables, just take out). Amazing food. I loved the Chicken Barg and their Ghormeh Sabzi is yummmmm.

Stopped by and got four orders of dif meats and kabobs. It was packaged«family style» with rice, and some extras. There was more that enough food to fee 5 hungry adults. The meats were excellent and the $ 5 tub of cucumber yogurt was amazing. Love this place. For about the same price as Chipotle, you can have a great meal with plenty of leftovers. The Halva, and Baklava is excellent too. Love this place!

Great market with a little restaurant connected. There are only a few tables so it’s mostly for take out. The food is delicious, fresh, and a good portion size. I like to get the cucumber dip to eat with my rice and meat. Great lunch spot!

Good food and very friendly staff. Would definitely come back again! Today I ordered the Soltani Plate and for a take out spot it’s just as good as a sit down restaurant.

My family and I have been coming here for years, and even with changes to the layout and the addition of their restaurant over the years, we still get high quality groceries and customer service. The place is family owned, and the couple who own the place always recognize my mom and I whenever we shop here. They are so sweet and courteous! The place isn’t big, so don’t expect a large quantity of items. They don’t have a huge selection of fruits and vegetables, but they are fresh. The baked goods are great especially their breads. The store has a nice variety of Mediterranean goods like spices, teas, etc. They even have Nutella! They also have halal meat for Muslims which is a huge plus for my family and I as well as kosher goods. The restaurant has nice food which my mom can never get enough of, but we have yet to try all of the dishes. Here are my personal recommendations of groceries to try: 1. Fig jam 2. Fresh feta cheese from their dairy section 3. Packaged box of tabouli mix 4. Fresh green/black figs when they are in season We are always satisfied with our purchases from here, and with the excellent service, we plan to remain loyal customers.

HEALTHY and quick! Love to take out the food from Diar. Very nice, friendly service. They know when I call and what I want. :) Food is usually ready within 15 min, fresh, great quality, and delicious. With many healthy options, you can order a generous portion of chicken breast, or thinly sliced filet mignon! I also tried babaganoush and eggplant from the deli section and it was very good! Yummy!
