Best Western Plus Thousand Oaks Inn

Room is nice, front desk staff is great. ParkIng is great for trailers, RV’s etc. Hotel is under construction. The reason for the low review is that we stay at Best Westerns all the time, we are Platinum members and the food choices at this restaurant really are hideous. (See my review for their restaurant) They give you a $ 7 breakfast credit for their very pricey, not very good restaurant. For. $ 200 a night hotel, I would expect something better. Oh their room service menu is extensive and though pricey seemed ok, until we noted the $ 3.50 service fee and found that it was catered in from somewhere. We love BW, but since they don’t take pets and the food issues, we most likely won’t stay here again.

How can this place get 5 stars from Unilocalers? It’s expensive for what you get at $ 185 ish after tax? The highlight might be the easy freeway access and proximity to local shopping.
The folks at the front desk were great, friendly and knowledgeable. My gripes come from this place being very dated. I was on the executive 4^th floor which was very 1980’s. The furniture was dated, and the ceilings had some slight water damage stains. The bathroom is very small and the toilet was anchored at a peculiar angle.
Generally speaking things were acceptable, but it did nothing to differentiate itself from other value chains. They don’t have an on site restaurant, rather they give a $ 7 breakfast voucher for the restaurant next door — super close.

I was pleasantly surprised with this place. Because of the lower reviews, I was a little concerned, but when I checked in, the staff was SUPER FRIENDLY — Jeremy was awesome! The room was big, clean, and the bed comfy. The only thing I had an issue with was the cheap soaps and shampoos. Other than that, it was great, and I’ll definitely be back!

I’ve stayed in many different locations with this chain, and I must say that this location is a well oiled machine! Very helpful and and professional. Special thanks to Sara and Sam. Great location and close to the eateries. Glad to see a secure door before getting to the rooms. A great feature that others have yet to figure out! I’d stay there again.

This is a nice hotel in a great location. Close to shopping, food and access to freeway. Recommend requesting the back of the building as sometimes the traffic from the freeway can be heard.
Service is good, was better before they let their reservations manager leave. Rooms are a little overpriced for what you get, but they did a recent renovation that improved the rooms. They are comfortable but the beds are not that nice.
They have a nice restaurant downstairs if you don’t want to leave.
Overall I would recommend this hotel to travelers.

Nicely located right off of the 101 in Thousand Oaks. It was easy to locate and we felt safe checking in. The staff was friendly and helpful. We easily obtained directions to our local destination and $ 7 off vouchers for breakfast in the hotel restaurant upon check-​in. Reservations were booked via a third-​party vendor and there were no issues upon check-​in.
The room was clean and includes two queen beds, a fridge, a microwave, a chair with ottoman, desk, tv and small table. The bathroom was small but had everything it needed. There was a blow dryer connected to the wall. The toilet was oddly very short and close to the ground. I was frustrated that the bed didn’t push against the wall because when traveling with a small child it is so nice to be able to just push the bed against the wall and sleep easy knowing that the wall will act as a bed rail.
There was a small pool and a nice courtyard with gazebo. There were many local restaurants and shops with a three mile radius.

This was a great hotel. It was close to the freeway but I did not hear any noise at night. The room was spacious and clean and I loved how they gave each guest a $ 7 coupon for breakfast at their restaurant the next morning. The restaurant staff was friendly and the food was good. My only complaint was that they only had one person working the front desk and it took a while to get checked in. But other than that it was a great experience. I would definitely return if I was in the area.

The gazebo area on main floor has acoustics that travel throughout hotel.

Very comfortable, quiet, and accommodating!!! Rooms are nicely decorated with warm, home feel! Convenient location! We will definitely go back!

ok 5 stars for this 3star hotel. Room was clean, large frig & microwave and smelled nice too, every room had balcony so if you need to smoke you don’t have to stand in parking lot. Each morning given $ 7 voucher pp to use at restaurant for breakfast, food & coffee was good and service friendly.

Never ever again. Just an awful motel. Rooms are all outside. Rooms are as tiny as they come. Clients are backpack duffle carrying folks. Not a 3 star/​diamond property in any way. The Restaurant is closed a bunch and the food quality is very basic. My dog stays at a higher end facility when I travel!

Not bad at all. I’ve stayed in some really fancy places and the amenities have been better here so far. They have Kohler shower head and Fleetwood sliding doors who knew? The television is also a pretty decent sized LG and the bed is very comfortable. I’ve spent far more on fancier hotels that didn’t have any of these things.

I booked on Priceline and accidentally messed up my guest’s name. Luckily, the folks over at this hotel are patient, understanding and beyond helpful! I contacted Jeff at the front desk and courteous is an understatement. I have peace of mind that my guest will have a wonderful stay at this hotel, solely on his professionalism — Plus you couldn’t ask for a better location!

The worse Best Western I’ve stayed in. Rooms smell like mildew. Restaurant was closed for renovation. The courtyard outside my room had guests smoking and I could smell the cigarette every time they smoked. The toilet would run until I yanked the handle up. Who knows how breakfast will be tomorrow.

This Best Western is the Worst Western. The staff are superficial and they repeat the corporate policies. They will not allow a guest to pay for a room with cash. How ridiculous; I guess they think that money is dirty. I don’t know, but they are not there to serve their guests, but to adhere to dogmatic rules. I traveled from faraway, and I only had a check book, and could get cash to rent the room but they would not take it.
The staff are corporate robots. I would give this hotel a zero rating, but I have at least give them a one star on this Unilocal site.

My wife had a surgery at the nearby Thousand Oaks Surgical center and the doctor recommended this hotel. I was very surprised at how nice it was and amenity packed! The reception desk attendants were very friendly and accommodating. Plenty of parking. The entrance to the rooms and courtyard are key card protected, so there is a level of security there. Each morning you got a voucher for a full complimentary breakfast. The room is super comfortable with a large flat screen TV. Very comfortable bed with lots of pillows. The view was not great (the next door building roof) but for what it’s worth, there was a balcony. It’s kind of noisy because of the 101 running just across the street, but I was able to sleep just fine. I spent 5 dollars to use their massage chairs and it was worth it! This is a great place for under $ 100. Especially if you have kids. Very clean too.

This hotel has had the worst Mickey Mouse upgrade i have ever seen, my room is drafty and dark (even with all the lamps on) and you can hear everything that is going on outside. The room is an ok size, the bed is mediocre at best, but the bathroom is horrible — small tub that is rusty and the «heating» unit is from the 60’s and could catch fire at any moment, and the shower was leaky as well. I was put up for work… but next time I will make sure to make my own accommodations.

No Complaints. For the price, there really is nothing better out there. If you are expecting the Ritz on a 90 dollar per night budget, then you will be dissapointed, but for the money, I felt this place exceeded my expectations. The continental breakfast was really good too!

Looks can deceive. We had made reservations here on our return from train trip to Seattle. When we arrived, it looked bit long in the tooth and we debated moving on. We decided to check it out and are glad we did. Room was large and clean and bed was worth of a 5 star hotel.
We would stay here again in a minute. Oh yeah, ask for the Amgen discount; it will save you a slug of money.

What I look for in a hotel I stay in for work is quick check in and clean rooms. That’s about it, and this hotel lived up to my standards. If I’m ever required to stay in Thousand Oaks again, this hotel will be where I stay.
