Ordered delivery for the first time a few days ago. My wife and I agreed this was very good Chinese food. They were very friendly when I called in, offered to customize the amount of spice, and asked if I wanted white meat or dark meat chicken. The quality of meat was very good, and the sweet and sour sauce was very thick and rich(most other restaurants it seems to be watered down). Highly recommended!

In Thornton on business and stop in for some Chinese food. The Crystal Palace was average food at best. Good lunch prices but very average. What got was the cleanliness of the place. The bathroom floor was sticky and greasy. There was spider webs in one corner and I watched the spider tend to two egg sack in the web! The corners of the bathroom were filthy with gravy stuff. The sink was dirty and looked unclean. There were cleaning clothes under the sink hanging from the pipe. I could not tell the color of the cloth but I think it was white once. I wonder what the kitchen looks like? Average food filthy bathrooms I will not return.

We’ve ordered from here for 14 years, and it has been generally very good. But the quality is definitely slipping. In the last two orders we have experienced ribs that were so dry and stringy they were almost inedible. This past weekend we ordered for some out of town company bragging to them how good the food is, but we were all very disappointed. Everything was barely warm. The barbecued ribs and the sweet and sour sauce for the egg rolls were actually ice cold– straight from the fridge. The Moo Goo Gai Pan was absolutely tasteless. The crab in the crab cheese won tons was very fishy tasting. All in all not a good experience and having disappoints two times in a row makes we wonder if their business is slipping.

Was convinced to order from here because someone said it was the best… Not only is it some of the worst Chinese food I’ve ever had but it was expensive too. I knew I should’ve stuck to heaven dragon. Where you’ll spend just as much but it’s amazing and you get a lot more. I’ll definitely not be back to crystal Island…

Really good food. We had general tso chicken and beef lo mein. The chicken was spicy, and the sauce was flavorful– not thick or goopy. The noodles had fresh carrots, sprouts, and celery(i might be missing some veggies). Rice with both entrees. And we also got wonton egg drop soup which was good. They included two sugar dumplings, delicious end to the meal. Tldr: non-greasy delicious chinese food. fast delivery on a friday(30 min) and friendly service. custom menu-no salt, msg, etc.

The crab cheese wontons are really good. Crispy and perfectly cooked. The fried dumplings have great flavor yum. The wonton soup was a huge let down. Bland and flavorless. The chicken lo mein was ok but not worth ordering again. The noodles stuck together in a weird clumpy way.

Not the very best Chinese food of all time but good enough to warrant a return trip. Inexpensive & nice people.

This pale is good not great. Had to a Wait a little longer than I would have liked for my food. It was great portions size and I had plenty for lunch the next day. Good neighborhood spot great for a quick weeknight meal

Ordered two shrimp dishes and neither was very good. Paid too much for less than mediocre food. Even the fried rice was weak. Need to up your game. Well not revisit.

I selected this restaurant for dinner tonight based upon the Unilocal reviews. So, I ordered delivery tonight to my hotel. I ordered the Chicken Wraps for a starter. Awesome!!! Following was a Hot & Sour soup. It had a delightful taste, a little kick, very yummy. For the main course I enjoyed Salt & Pepper shrimp. If you can tolerate the shells, ask for them to stay… awesome flavor, crunchy of course, quite the meal. The menu is quite extensive, but note worthy to mention that they can prepare your meal without MSG, SALT, SUGAR&CORNSTARCH. Let them know, they are delighted to honor your request. This restaurant is family owned and operated. They are doing good things here… show your support and give them a try. I will be back… and I hope to see you here.

It’s hard to find a great Chinese place, but we think we found the one! Hubby and I ordered delivery and the food was delivered on time and piping hot. We ordered two Special Dinners so we could get soup, an appetizer, rice, and entrée — Hot N Sour and Egg Drop soup, steamed and fried rice, and sesame and Kung pao chicken. Everything was mouth watering delicious and fresh! The fried rice didn’t have any veggies which I was bummed about, but it was still good. Love the extra food they included(donuts) but for two people we ordered way too much. Their prices are decent and portions are huge. Definitely a returning customer!

Extremely bland and seriously lacking in flavor. I had sesame chicken which had no spice at all and was not the least bit crispy. Fried rice had pretty much only soy sauce in it. Egg roll had just cabbage. I don’t think the crab cheese won tons had any crab at all. Silver wrapped chicken and egg drop soup were ok. I definitely will never order food from here again.

This place has some of the worst Chinese food I’ve ever had. The sesame chicken tastes like a hot dog is the best way to explain it, don’t know why. The place was empty and very few people coming in for pick up. Avoid it!

I have to admit, this was some of the best Chinese food I’ve ever had! I got the General Tso’s with fried rice. The fried rice probably WAS the best I’ve had. I don’t know what gave it the flavor it had but it was amazing! Unfortunately, it was a Monday night, which shouldn’t be too busy, so for an order of Sweet and Sour Chicken and an order of General Tso’s Chicken, it probably shouldn’t have taken over an hour. But, truthfully, the«yumminess» totally surpassed the wait. It was SO good! Despite the mediocre delivery experience, I guarantee we’ll order from here again!

Although it’s a family run business, the service is slow. The food was okay, but a little under what I’m used to. Got the sweet & sour chicken & rice and that came out good, can’t go wrong with frying battered chicken and fried rice. But the low mein tasted odd, looked odd and was a little watery. And super salty. I’m just glad it was not spaghetti noodles like some restaurants, however the texture was a little rough. I think I’ll probably stop by a $ 1.15 Chinese scoop next time I want Chinese in this area and skip out on this one as the nearest.

Most Chinese restaurants will always just be «A-OK» to me. Why? Because my parents used to own a Chinese restaurants(I know, so stereotypical huh…). After a disappointing drive around Thornton neighborhoods with cheesy Christmas light displays(inflatables? Wha?), Sarah A. and I wanted some Chinese food. Pulled up Unilocal on my phone and voila, Crystal Island was the closest to where we were at. Small, cozy location and cute staff; I think it was only the woman and the man staffing the little place! Our food came out slowly, but that meant it came out fresh. Thumbs up. Our server, the lady, was talkative and so accommodating. She bemoaned to us how they had to cancel and re-sign up for cable. Fun little story. Crab Rangoons = as Crab Rangoon-y as you can get. My parents never allowed this on our menu. I can kind of see why, yet I still find this a guilty pleasure. :P Sesame Chicken & General Tso’s Chicken = hits the spot; loved the steamed broccoli florets garnishing the dishes. Hey, gotta sneak some of the healthy stuff in :) Both entrees came with a choice of plain fried rice, white rice, or brown rice. You really can’t go wrong with any of those choices. My fortune at the end of the meal: «You have an unusually magnetic personality.» Why yes, yes I do. :P

I have been a patron of Crystal Island since the day they opened their doors more than 15 years ago. The staff still remembers me from when I was a child and often knows more of my extended family’s gossip than I do. Great people! The food isn’t anything to shake a stick at either. The hot n’ sour soup can cure most every illness and the rest of the menu is wonderful as well.
