At this park you can mountain bike, run, hike, fish, or, evidently if you’re there at the right time, LARP. I came here as a «jumping off point» for my first off-road biking adventure. I LOVEDIT! We were out for about 3 hours and covered almost 17 miles. Funny trail names like Techno Pig, Squiggy, Piglet, and Grandpa will make you smile. Most of the trails are pretty beginner friendly and the terrain is largely flat. The parking area at Trout Creek is mostly shaded by trees, there is a restroom facility with flush toilets and lights, drinking fountains, and a few maps. There are multiple large picnic shelters with grills. There’s a bike(or human) washing station with a sprayer. The most treacherous part of most of the trails is the pig holes(holes that have been dug by wild pigs rooting around for food). The big tree roots can be slippery and there are some places with a tight turn or a tight squeeze through some trees, but for the most part anyone on the proper bike and tires can do these trails. If you’re unfamiliar with the area around Flatwoods, there is a network of parks with parking lots which connect via both Morris Bridge Road and a criss-crossing network of dirt trails. From Trout Creek we ended up in 4 other parks. If you’ve never been here before, I recommend you find a friend who has or come out EARLY in the day so that if you get turned around you don’t end up lost in the woods after dark. The scenery is quite stunning so don’t get so side-tracked by trying to go fast that you forget to look around and enjoy it. And don’t forget, Mr. Dunderbak’s is only a quick 14 minute drive from the lot!

Update: Poorly managed park. The park is difficult to navigate, and there is no information to help the users. The grilling areas were not maintained. The trails were not maintained. They were partially overgrown, and limbs were down everywhere. I’m not talking a few small limbs from a storm, I’m talking about old whole tree trunks I have been there for years. The trails were difficult to navigate by foot, much less buy a bicycle, if bicycles are even allowed. On some of the trails, dogs are not allowed. What kind of a park doesn’t allow dogs on a walking trail? Trash littered the entire park. I am in my late thirties, and consider myself an outdoorsy person. I have lived in many states in my life, and this is the absolute worst park I have ever been to in my entire life.
