Loved this place! The atmosphere was great and their beers were good. We got the flatbread and it was awesome… We defiantly be back on our next trip!

Cool spot! Good beer and really nice people. We listened to a band, drank some beer, and played cornhole!

We were staying on the mountain for our honeymoon. We came across this brewery, which is tucked away. When we came inside it was very friendly and warm. There is a fireplace right in the middle and the bar is made of copper. Very rustic! The bartender was friendly and pretty helpful. It seems like a local hang out. The hours are strange but we did go during the off season. It wasn’t very busy at all. There was no food when we were there St Paddy’s day and the week after. I enjoyed the beer. Not too shabby

We had a cool time in here once we got the bartender to warm up to us. Just stopped in for a beer and the atmosphere was very unique, mixing metal with country and really making us feel like we were in a different world. Beer was pretty good. We had the stout and the IPA, later trying the blonde at another place. Both of us enjoyed all. The stout was super on point, though.

Great Brews and the food was great. Our server was great. She took the time to explain all of the different brews they have. Food was great too. Too bad they do not sell the beers outside WV.

I give it five stars solely on the beer, the rustic interior and stone fireplace. My husband and I buy their beer at the grocery store where we live and truly enjoy it therefore we knew we had to visit when we were staying at Blackwater Falls State Park. We came on a Sunday. There was no food other than peanuts and pepperoni rolls on the bar. The bartender was not the friendliest. Definitely didn’t engage his guests. I’d guess he is either a stoner, stayed up too late the night before or does not enjoy his job. Not a bad experience because the beer was good. We probably wouldn’t come back but we plan on visiting another one of their locations.

My husband and I just returned from a long weekend trip to Blackwater Falls. This was our first time there and the staff did not mention that the restaurants in Davis and Thomas all close by 9. We were extremely hungry and this place was open, according to Google. It certainly did not look open at all and there were 2 cars in the parking lot.(We went on a Saturday night.) The place had a nice«mountainy» feel to it and we were greeted by the bartender and waitress when we came in. The restaurant area was closed off for the evening, even though there is supposedly food served late and karaōke on Saturdays.(We got here at 9:30– there were 3 people at the bar and no karaōke.) My husband got one of their specialty beers, which he said was alright. We were given a menu, which consisted of a few appetizers and«melts» aka fancy grilled cheeses. The sandwiches sounded good and I had high hopes. The menu really talked it up with homemade bread, «grass-fed» pork(which I did not know that pigs ate grass…), organic vegetables, etc. These sandwiches were way below average and I could have made it 10x better in my own kitchen. Barely any flavor and it wasn’t even fully cooked. It’s a grilled cheese!!! To top it off, it was way over-priced– $ 10 for grilled cheese sandwich. Ridiculous. I’m most dissatisfied with the price, how awesome the menu made things sound, and the pictures I saw on here– the food looks absolutely nothing like this! We will not be going back.

I love this place! Family friendly with great food, servers, and atmosphere! Depending where you sit you can see the chefs tossing the pizza in the kitchen and putting pizza into the oven. This is a country style place which I like. I would recommend the amazing bruschetta, pizza, and sandwiches! This is definitely I place I will make a tradition to go back to!

Stopped in here visiting from charleston, wanted to support the beer I’ve drank several times and was practically ignored. 2 old men watching hockey only people here and the ‘bartender’ who reportedly doesn’t bartend, was short, rude and complacent as hell. First and last experience here. We are going back to the other brewery…

Great place to hang out after a day of snowboarding. Enjoy delicious and reasonably priced local microbrews as you talk by the fire, watch the game, or enjoy a game of foosball. Oatmeal stout is so tasty, especially on a winter night.

the Seneca Indian Pale Ale even more now that they’re filtering it again! Great place for the whole family. Foosball table, corn hole during the warm months, and a nice warm crackling fire in the stone hearth during the colder months! They will fill any and all growlers, too. Decent selection of single malts, though heavy on the Islay side – need more Highland and Speyside selections! Live music on Saturdays.

Came here for a wedding reception. My friends had an Elvis impersonator DJ a karaōke set for them. The brewery provided several of their beers on keg. I think it was an amber, an IPA and a stout as well as sangria. After a long day hiking nearby this was basically like drinking the sweat of the gods. A real solid place in a very rural area!

This place was definitely surprising in this area. Pizza was good, could use salt, however the crust was really good. The combos were creative and the beer was decent. Homemade root beer was refreshing. Would recommend this place to visitors especially since there is no where else in the area to get fresh ingredients.

Thank you for coming to our first Taste of West Virginia event in Washington, D.C. Your brews capture a true West Virginia flavor. The Cold Trail Ale is a favorite of mine. Hope you can join us again next year!

I love this place, and will happily go there any time that I’m in the area. Food, beer, and vibe are all great. I tried the Fire on the Mountain flatbread pizza — delicious. My wife enjoyed the Buffalo Chicken flatbread. And the kids were quite happy with their choice of «cheesy bread», which is basically a flatbread white pizza cut into strips with dipping sauce. They loved the brownie sundae even more.

Great live music when I was here. It was summer and they had an outdoor stage. If I remember correctly they only served their own delicious beer, tequila and scotch. Needless to say, we had an awesome time.

Excellent brewpub and fantastic beer, a stark comparison to the poor beer standards at the other place down the street. It’s a comfy little place attached to the back of the brewhouse. We were allowed to bring our own bar snacks in from the gas station next door due to the lack of food, but it’s all about the beer here, and I’m fine with that. Not to mention it’s one of the CHEAPEST microbreweries in a ski town that I’ve ever been to. We grabbed a bag of jerky from the«jerky guy» that was delivering their order, it was really nice of the bartender to let us in on that order! The copper bar top is beautiful, the fireplace cozy, and the people all were enjoying themselves as much as we were. This place is a true gem in the area, and our defacto beer stop whenever we are near.

I’ve seen two wonderful New Riders of the Purple Sage shows at this venue, and each time I’ve had a fantastic experience. The main non-musical attraction of this brewery is the beer, obviously. I had many of their Sarnac IPAs and Cold Trail Ales, which were absolutely delicious. At the end of both nights, I was shocked by how low my bill was. I don’t know if I’ve ever had better beer for less money. Décor-wise, MSB is unpretentious and comfortable. Their venue is basically a barn without a fourth wall, making it a perfect place to enjoy the breeze on a hot summer night. A couple of times, we left the venue and stood behind the fence to listen to the music in the dark — it sounded fantastic. There’s a nice little dance floor too if you want to get your groove on. What made this a five-star visit on our most recent trip was the kindness and friendliness of the staff. I had a beer and a very pleasant conversation with the owner before the show, and the staff seemed to remember my fiancé and I from the New Riders show there last year. They were also helpful and accommodating to his wish to tape the show live, reserving a spot for him to set up his stand and helping him protect his microphones from the drunker patrons. My one complaint is that MSB doesn’t regularly serve food. They had a menu out when we came here in 2010, but not during our visit this past weekend. If I didn’t live four hours away, I would be a regular here. But this is still one of my favorite places to see a fun, relaxed show and have some great beer. I look forward to making many return visits in the future.
