Tradition Aviation is one of the best I’ve seen. Great down-​home feeling. Whenever I’ve been there one of the owners is around. Ann Goodwyn is great. No fees and an attitude that they’re glad to have you no matter what you’re flying. Very attentive service.
Relax with a Coke on the front veranda in a rocking chair where you can watch the activity on the field. I watched a BBJ coming and going one day. Good access via freeway to Palm Desert, Rancho Mirage, Palm Springs etc.

Far and away the best GA airport in the valley.
No fees (unlike all of the PSP FBOs)
Long runways mean that you can land your 737 here no problem.
Crosswind runway (unlike PSP and Bermuda Dunes)
Inexpensive fuel from multiple vendors
Lots of hangar options
Previous reviewer was correct in stating that Tradition does the best job on the field if you are a transient aircraft.

Jackie Cochran Regional Airport, or «Thermal» as it’s lovingly known by us locals, is hands down the best airport in the valley. Whether you’re thinking of the FBOs (like Tradition Aviation), the wide open surroundings, or the freshly-​paved crosswind runway. This airport has it all.
