First time at Robards and it was for happy hour. Having said that i asked our waitress what one of the other patrons had simply because it looked so good. It was the crab/avocado cocktail that is on the happy hour menu but she persuaded me to get it from the dining menu. At $ 19 I thought it was a bit much, but was I ever wrong… it was awesome and big enough for three for tasting, we ran out of the wanton crisps but our waitress came to us when she saw the crisps had gone and asked if we wanted more! My friends ordered the green bean/portobello fries with garlic aioli, delish! Also the oysters Robard which they said were so good! Service was great? I’m definitely going back here if only for the crab/avocado cocktail! Next time it’s all mine!!!

Best steak I ever had. I was here months ago and still haven’t had a filet mignon so tender, juicy, & well seasoned. The staff is super EXTRA friendly & I live in Austin but have been trying to find an excuse to drive 3 hours again for this yumminess. It is unreal how GOOD it was. My date had a ribeye, it was JUST as good. I’m just a fan of filet mignon. I can’t believe this is the only location. Please please make your way to Austin and set the record straight who’s running the best steakhouse!

While both of our kids were at sleep away camp, my husband and I decided to make a quick, kidless(RARE) trip to the Woodlands Resort. We really hadn’t planned on visiting Robard’s but, after several friends recommended we go, we gave it a try. Unfortunately, after snacking all day we didn’t have a huge appetite so decided to forego table service and grab a drink and something small at the bar. HUGE mistake!!! Save your appetite! We were greeted by two bartenders and a manager(?) who were friendly and knowledgeable. They educated us on how the beef is cut, aged, what cuts would suit our taste, etc. We ordered two glasses of wine but when there was only one glass left of the wine we ordered, they gave us that one glass free and poured us two more of another brand. As I had done my Unilocal research before coming, I asked the bartender to show me how the famous«smoked» drinks were made. He complied and soon several people in the bar were ordering them. I didn’t try one(being a wine gal) but it was fun to watch and people seemed to enjoy them. As we sat we realized we could not order«bar food» here & commented to the bartender we just simply didn’t have the appetite for two plates. He said they would have no problem with us splitting… so a side and a filet it was. The bartender brought us a selection of knives to choose from. That was kind of fun. We ordered the beet salad(hubby who just wanted beef was not impressed but I thought it was divine) and the filet with Oscar sauce(bernaise with crab and asparagus). All I can say is WOW! The filet was a skyscraper compared to any other filet I’ve had, was cooked to a perfect medium rare and the sauce was out of this world! We gobbled it down and wished we had starved ourselves before coming! At the end of the evening, we went out to the back patio to check out the view of the lake & the crew came out and surprised us with a bourbon ice cream dessert! It was delightful! Not too boozy and not too sweet. We are already planning our next trip to the Woodlands & will put Robard’s on the top of our to-do list! YUM!!!

Robard’s has become my absolute favorite place for fine dining in The Woodlands. The seafood cocktail selection really sets them apart. I’d highly recommend the Seafood Flight which gives you a taste of 4 different seafood ceviches which are all made to order by their amazing seafood chef. Their Filets are as good as it gets and they’re cooked perfectly every time. If you’re not in the mood for red meat their salmon or brick chicken are amazing… very underrated. Robard’s is also a hidden gem for happy hour and have a pretty epic bar menu. You and a date can eat an epic meal, grab an appetizer and get a buzz for $ 50. Lastly, the biggest reason for the 5 star rating is Robard’s first class service. My girlfriend and I literally feel like celebrities when we’re there and get VIP treatment from everyone. I’d highly recommend asking to be seated in Tiffany’s section. Best waitress in Texas in my humble opinion.

Fantastic service, food and atmosphere. If it’s not right, they want to know and go above and beyond to make it right. Our favorite place. You’ve got to try this place if you’ve never been. Their appetizer options are phenomenal. It’s a must. We will be back, soon.

We are still in a state of WOW from our delightful and most tasteful experience. Best steak we have EVER had. You absolutely must get the compound truffle butter on your steak of choice. John the manager was superb in assisting us in finding the perfect bottles of wine… he along with Corey, Kyle and Sameer made our experience one to remember and one we will duplicate with them many times to come!

As a previous poster also mentioned, «I’ve experienced better». I went to Robard’s yesterday with a party of 11 adults to celebrate a birthday, and was disappointed with my experience. My purpose is not to discredit Robard’s at all — my hope is that the restaurant can use this as constructive criticism to improve the restaurant! Specifically: Ambiance/Setting: To their credit, Robard’s is a beautiful restaurant. The complex with the hotel gives a grand feel, and complimentary valet adds to the luxury. The lighting and overall feel of the restaurant tables is top-notch(as would be expected of a high-end restaurant). The windows at the back of the restaurant open to a large lake, which was an unexpected surprise(and I can only imagine it would be better during the day). Service: I was disappointed with the staff. When we entered the restaurant, a lady held the door open for us and greeted us, but with a frown and no sense of politeness(which is a minor issue, but started the evening on the wrong foot). Our head waitress, while mostly competent and knowledgeable about the menu, was impolite(never smiled, sometimes curt with her responses, etc). She mixed up a few people’s orders and on clean up, even picked up my plate(without asking) as I was still eating. The other staff(bus-boys and other waiters assisting), however, were great — pleasant, smiling and always polite. I was disappointed with our head waitress as I was told by others(who were in my party) that their prior experience with Robards’ staff was great. Food: Appetizers — Great. We ordered the Beefsteak Tomato, Portobello and Green Bean Fries, and Roasted Beets. All were delicious(especially the fries!). Very happy with appetizers. Steaks — Disappointed. We were underwhelmed with our steaks for 2 main reasons: 1) When the steaks came to our table(all at the same time), they were lukewarm(not hot as we had hoped). I can understand the difficulty with a party our size to serve the food piping-hot to all persons at the same time, but I’ve never had this issue at other restaurants with similar size parties. 2) Some steaks were overcooked. I personally had ordered a porterhouse medium, but on receiving the food I found it was medium well/almost well done. The person next to me ordered a bone-in ribeye medium, which was very pink and juicy(but, also not hot). There was a lot of variability around the table in the preparation of the steaks, which really diminished many of our experiences. Sides — Overall good. We ordered several sides for the table(asparagus, sweet potatoes, corn, steak fries, mashed potatoes). They were all good tasting, but also not very hot. Overall though they complemented the meal well. Dessert — Overall good. We had wanted to order the crème brûlée(people in our party who had been to Robard’s before loved it) but unfortunately they were out of it for the night(understandable — we were ordering dessert a little late, around 10pm on Saturday). We ordered the Chocolate Onyx and the Strudel; both were good. The chocolate onyx was very rich tasting and nice to share; the strudel had great crust and filling. Overall food — we had come to Robard’s specifically to have good steak, and we were disappointed. The other peripheral food choices were good, but it could not compensate for a lackluster main meal. Bill: Our bill had a few errors(charging us for more sides than we ordered, charged us for desserts we did not order) but that was understandable with our large party size. We brought it to the attention of the assistant manager(I could not find our head waitress) and he dealt with it very quickly. Overall: I was disappointed by Robard’s, especially after hearing great things about the restaurant by others. I’ve had better steaks at other restaurants, and the service(by some staff) made the experience less enjoyable. I absolutely understand that a party of my size(11 adults + 4 kids) is very difficult to serve well and may be the reason for some things not being perfect. That being said, I’ve almost never had this issue elsewhere. I would perhaps consider return to Robard’s in the future — likely with a smaller, more manageable party and hopefully with a more friendly waiter/waitress. I think the restaurant has great potential if they can iron out these issues.

All Steaks are great, I tried a Ribeye that was phenomenal. My girlfriend also had the King Crab legs on special and she absolutely loved them. Everything is fresh and the room is well decorated. Also, dining with the lake view is a big plus.

Our new favorite steakhouse in the north part of Houston maybe all of Houston. The candies bacon app is unbelievable. Perfect contract of crisp, soft, sweet taste offset by the blue cheese. Awesome! The Lobster parfait had chunks of lobster meat which is unlike most dishes the advocate they have«lobster». Service fantastic, and the best part… our filet done Pittsburgh rare was dry aged in-house…can’t be beat! We will return and bring clients and party guests.

«I’ve experienced better» describes the steak perfectly. Before I broach the topic o the steak, I’ll give them credit for first rate service. We showed up as a group of five about an hour before closing and they accommodated us as if we were VIPs. The service was first rate. The staff was wonderful about special requests. My side order of mushrooms was as good as I’ve had anywhere. But the New York strip didn’t do it for me. The biggest downfall was a big strip of fat along the entire length of the steak that was exceptionally tough and hard to cut. The steak was also devoid of much seasoning. A bit of salt and pepper and some better carving from the in-house butcher would’ve ensured that the steak was able to rise to the level of the other food and the service. For a prime steakhouse, I expect a close to perfect steak. Sadly, this NY strip was lacking.

The food was great and absolutely on-point. However, I had to knock a start or 2 off because of what seems to be a somewhat«prepared» state of dessert and the staff’s inability to shut one customer up! While I realize that an establishment can only go so far as to how to market themselves and encourage particular guests, there has to be a plan in place to deal with loud and obnoxious guests that are dining alone… This woman could have been encouraged to sit elsewhere, favoritism could have been shown to her that resulted in an early departure, or at least apologize to the other patrons. Either way, this woman felt comfortable enough to indulge the establishment’s employees in her conversation and loudly invite her friends to join her(via telephone). Meanwhile: I worked hard to indulge in my selections. At one point, I was almost glad for her distracting nature as I wanted to lick my fingers after eating one items. I felt comfortable in doing so as all eyes were out«Big Mouth»(that’s what my best friend’s parents refer to me as, but for the sake of this review, I lend the unknown lady my name). The chips and dip, steak on a stick, and broiled oysters were fantastic! However, as I mentioned: this lovely place could have really established themselves with a well-constructed, fresh dessert. Instead, I received some stuff that had congealed in a shot glass. It wasn’t terrible, but it certainly didn’t seem to be an appropriate fit for the surroundings and prior delights that I enjoyed while here. Hell, the valet gave me a box a chocolates that was a tad bit better than the dessert that I was served inside the restaurant.

Robard’s Steakhouse in The Woodlands is a culinary delight. We eat there frequently. This restaurant is not just for special occasions, it’s for when you want the very best in a dining experience. Executive Chef, Sammy Holmes is World Class. Last night, he served us a crab cake and a bacon wrapped scallop to start off our dinner. The flavors were spectacular. Those appetizers alone would have me making another reservation. Then our main course was an expertly prepared Colorado lamb and king crab legs, with side dishes of Truffle Parmesan Risotto and pan roasted Mushrooms. What a heavenly dining experience this was. The friendly staff always treats us so well. For the best experience you’ll ever have in dining, head to Robard’s Steakhouse in The Woodlands, Tx.

From the valet to the executive chef, everyone who works here was so hospitable. They all clearly love their jobs. The view is amazing & décor very classy and comfortable. Now the food takes it to another level. Impeccable! Truly 2 of the best meals I’ve ever had! The guacaviche is a must appetizer. And the smoke infused drink was awesome.

Ate here last night for my first time. Celebrated our wedding anniversary and it was fantastic. The staff, and especially our server(Thomas), was very welcoming and they made note of our anniversary and made us feel very special. We weren’t starving, so we split a house salad and a bone in New York Strip with a side of potatoes. The food was delicious. Can’t wait to come back. My new favorite restaurant in the woods

Robarb’s has been open almost one year. Apparently, it is the place to be in The Woodlands. Robert’s has a great view of the 18th hole at The Woodlands Country Club. I went here on a Wednesday night and was surprised on how busy they were. Everyone in my group ordered either filet or salmon and all said it was delicious. In our group, the sides were served family style. Unfortunately, my steak was overcooked but I didn’t bother sending it back. I had ordered medium and received it medium well with a very very slight pink center. The flavor was still good and honestly, I didn’t feel like waiting for a redo. However, I would like to experience this place again with a medium filet. Also, someone told me I had to try their Candied Bacon on French Toast. I tried it and then made an appointment with my Cardiologist. In all honesty, I thought it was just ok and probably wouldn’t order it again. As far as I am aware, they offer two private rooms for events. The one in the front as a current for privacy but not a door so it can be very loud from the other patrons in the main part of the restaurant. Apparently, they have shattered two doors on that room so went with a curtain instead.

Great good, excellent service, incredible atmosphere. We love it! The steaks are best we’ve had in a very long time. We love the views of the golf course and the outdoor seating area. If you love wine, this is your place. They literally have hundreds and hundreds of bottles of wine that are sure to meet anyone’s needs. The fresh food from the Gulf doesn’t disappoint. This restaurant goes above and beyond to set themselves apart, of course we couldn’t even compare them to another restaurant. We hope you enjoy it as much as we did. We will be back Friday night with great friends who are visiting from Louisiana.

My wife and I came in to Robards for the first time and I have to say the experience was first class! We sat at the bar due to the live music and raw seafood bar. The raw bar was amazing and the bar tenders were knowledge and friendly. The steaks are dry aged in house for over a month and delish! Atmosphere, food and forgot to mention the wine list, that makes for a 5 star review. We will be back

We decided to try Robards for the first time last night. The main dining room was booked so we decided to eat in the bar which served the full menu. The bar was nice enough but quite loud. A One man band was playing which added to the noise level but made it a better atmosphere. Wine list and food were above average… we had the raw bar sampler, beefsteak tomato salad, boned in ribeye, bone in NY strip, baked potato, and shortcake dessert. We really tried to enjoy ourselves, but the service was terrible. They had plenty of bartenders and servers but they were oblivious toward the customers. We were constantly having to wave them down for wine, for water, for condiments, for utensils… You get the picture. Not once were we asked«is everything to your liking, can I get you anything». Yes, they were busy, but not so busy that they couldn’t make eye contact and see how the customer is doing while they are mixing a drink. Really disappointing! If we decide to return, it’ll have to be in the main dining room. If you’re looking for a nice dinner experience, don’t sit in the bar!

First of all, I wanna say the food and service here is great. However, I’ve gotta say, Robard’s is one of the most unreasonably high-priced restaurants I’ve ever been to. I get the cauliflower T-Bone(don’t let the name fool you, it’s vegetarian), and it’s great every time. The prices prevent me from coming more often though; for instance, the cauliflower T-Bone is $ 32. It probably costs $ 2 to make, as it’s all vegetables. This is absolutely ridiculous. Even the sides are unreasonably priced. A side of potatoes with cheese is $ 12 here. On no planet is that even remotely reasonable. Just to reiterate, the service here is commendable and the food is great. If it weren’t for the ridiculous prices I would have given it 5 stars. I think this place would make more money if they charged less for everything except the steak; I just see absolutely no reason for the prices to be this high.

What a great choice! We had a late dinner but enjoyed our adult beverages outside over looking the golf course watching the guys hit their golf balls in the water. We did have reservations, still ended up waiting about ten extra minutes. No big deal. Our server was Kyle. He was great. There was some confusion with other wait staff and what tables belong to whom. No delay with our dinner. I started out with the bacon wrapped scallops. We had the filet medium rare… no mistake the best steak I have ever had. Period. I also had the beet salad lite and refreshing. My partner and I also enjoyed a nice bottle of red and finished off with a rich chocolate mousse. I would definitely return the next time while staying at the resort. My only hang up is there was a screaming kid ALMOST the entire dinner until someone across the resturant yelled something«make your kid stop screaming» lol not the most appropriate thing to do but neither is letting a screaming kid control the mood. Not the resturants fault at all. And the kid finally stopped all the nonsense!

This place gets 5 star it was absolutely delish. We ordered the bacon wrapped scallops for our app the bacon flavored the scallops well but we didn’t eat the bacon. The scallops were perfectly cooked. We ordered a roasted beet salad which was on the small side but delish. The steak… oh the Filet… perfectly crusted on the outside and melt in your mouth on the inside. It was also a birthday so we were surprised with a lovely desert of our choosing which was the delectable chocolate mousse. We arrived an hour before our reservations so we sat outside lovely view for the evening and fun to watch the golfers too. Dodge those balls coming at your face though!!! They truly landed in the little lake but it was a heads up call for A moment. thought very reasonable wine selections you could order a good wine for a very reasonable price. Downside — was a screaming toddler that messed up the vibe somewhat. Other than that-perfection

When a restaurant has«steakhouse» in its name, it’s safe to assume that they do beef well. However, I was even more impressed by the seafood at Robard’s. The Seafood Flight Cocktail was as gorgeous as it was delicious! Lobster, crab, guacaviche, and yucatan shrimp served in a glass and metal arch. Loved it! The Lobster Mac n Cheese was also to die for. The filet was cooked perfectly, although I will request a little less seasoning the next time I go in. The service was impeccable and upon our waitress’ suggestion, we ordered a bottle of Goldeneye Pinot Noir that was one of the best I’ve had in a while. The view at sunset is gorgeous, both from inside the restaurant as well as outside on the stone patio. Will definitely be back soon.

Have been looking for a great steakhouse in The Woodlands, and now we’ve found it at The Woodlands Resort. Upon entering the restaurant, I was immediately struck by how beautiful it is. Pretty fixtures, soft lighting, a fireplace on one wall… it is gorgeous. Even though it was cold, we took a peek at the outdoor patio and can’t wait to go back when the weather is warmer, very pretty. My husband and I were seated at a table by the window. I appreciated how the tables and booths were spaced apart… not like some restaurants where the 2-tops are right on top of each other and you are part of your neighbor’s conversation. The seating was perfect. Noise level was nice… live music coming in from the bar, but it wasn’t too loud. We were seated, greeted, and given wine and cocktail menus. I really liked how our server, Chris, didn’t rush us with ordering food right away… he asked if we’d like to enjoy our wine for a bit before looking at the dinner menu. The service throughout was OUTSTANDING. Chris was helpful, knowledgeable of the menu, timed our meal perfectly, didn’t rush us, very friendly. The food was AMAZING! I actually wanted to order all of appetizers. Chris recommended the seafood flight, and he was right… it was a great choice. Beautiful presentation. We also saw a table nearby with the seafood tower which looked delicious and a great presentation as well. My husband and I each ordered a steak plus a side to share. Sides are family style and definitely enough for two people. My husband had the NY Strip and I ordered the Filet Medallions Oscar. Our steaks were cooked to exactly as we ordered… and our server made sure we thought so before leaving our table.(Fun tidbit, when you order a steak, you get to pick a steak knife to use out of a few different options.) My steak was crisp on the outside and buttery inside… perfection. We’ve eaten at several local steakhouses(my husband more so than me on business), and we both agreed that the steaks were the best we’ve had. Dessert: Don’t miss the dessert cart. So many choices… all house made. The chocolate mousse was our favorite… if I had had any more room, I would have ordered another. Divine. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience. We can’t wait to go back!

In a word, OVERRATED 4 of us had dinner last night. Ambiance and service were excellent but food was no better than Perrys or Bob’s for instance. Was hoping to find food that was on par or better than the 2 mentioned above and hopeful it would also compete against my 2 favorites in Killen’s and/or Pappas Bros steak house No such luck So we have yet another steakhouse that comes to The Woodlands that doesn’t pack the extra punch and is just satisfied being«run of the mill» Trust me, if you are going to spend this type of money and have the ability to enjoy Killen’s in Pearland or Pappas Bros on Westheimer– do it over this place!

Just had our first visit to Robard’s and loved it! I’ve never felt so welcome. We arrived at 5:30 for social hour, but the bar was already full with no seats. We were promptly greeted by a bartender who introduced himself and shook our hands. He took our drink order and informed us that chairs were on our way. In the mean time a free sample from their raw bar was given to use to try. A tasty shrimp cocktail. Rather than just bringing chairs to the bar for us, they brought a whole 2 top table. Once seated, another sample from the raw bar was brought over. From there we ordered the calamari, burger and steak flatbread from the social hour menu. All great! Wine by the glass choices were good too. The Manager Chris came by several times to chat with us as well. We have not had a better experience at a restaurant in a while! Loved it.

Officially my favorite steakhouse. The steak was pretty much on par with Flemings or Kirbys. I really don’t see how it could be better– juicy, tender and great flavor. Had crab cakes for an appetizer and they were delicious as well. What really sold me is the ambience of the restaurant– the architecture is just beautiful and really is something that you won’t forget. Service was excellent– granted I went at a slow hour… but waitstaff was very attentive.
