This business is open for business as I just had dinner there. Food is decent and price is pretty good. They have a live 2pc band on the weekends. You’re better off going to Lupe Tortilla or Chuy’s instead.

The food is tasty but the service is bad. Maybe it was because we went during dinner time.

1. The environment is nice. The booths are high-backed which is nice for privacy. 2. Chips and Salsa: Chips were solid. The salsa was meh and the green sauce had zero flavor. 3. Margaritas: I got the house margarita and felt like I was drinking a lime slushie. My husband got the Patron Perfect Margarita; it was not perfect. The ratios of the liquors were very far off and the drink ended up tasting much more bitter than a margarita should. 4. Food: I had the shrimp tostada and was very saddened to find frozen shrimp on the tostada. That’s what I get for not asking first. Husband got the taquitos which were mostly fried tortilla with very little filling and virtually no flavor. 5. Price: We had a $ 10 off coupon and the prices were still too much for the food we received. All in all, if you’re looking for decent Mexican food in the woodlands area at a reasonable price, you’d be much better off heading to Chuy’s than Rico’s Grill.

It was ok, but never really saw the waiter. I’m pretty sure that if I had dropped my chimichanga on the floor, it would have shattered from how long they prepared it and when my wife chewed into her enchilada, it took her a while to eat one bite since the cheese was like rubber! I def don’t recommend and wouldn’t do it again!

I hate to think that for those who don’t know better, they may actually think this is good. Really? The queso couldn’t get any more yellow, or salty. Our waiter was either extremely hard of hearing, didn’t speak English, was in the wrong place, and obviously didn’t get to watch Pebble Beach golf tourney on Sunday, as that was what he did most of the time. 0.79 cents for half a chopped jalepeno? Reallly? I got two words for you guys… El Bosque.

This place was a very pleasant surprise. The food and drinks were far better than I expected. Although there are a million Tex-Mex restaurants in the area, only about 3 of them really stand out — and Rico’s is one of them.

This is a great place to meet up with friends after work or on the weekend. Always able to seat you with no wait. The food is not the best but good. My favorite thing to order are the steak and chicken fajitas. You can easily order«for one» and it feeds two people easily especially after all the chips and salsa! Will be going back soon!

My husband and I dined here a couple Fridays ago. Upon walking in we were greeted by a good friend of mine that I know that worked there. That was half of our reason to go, the other half well… we wanted to try it. Lately, we’d been all about trying new places when dining out so why not give this one place a try? The décor is nice to begin my review with. To begin our meal, they brought out the usual of chips and salsas just like any other Mexican restaurant. They brought a red and green. I most often go with green salsa. I liked it! Woo, now the place had me on their salsa. The food we ordered did not take long to arrive. Even my husband noticed that! The food arrived piping hot and you know what? It was really good. My husband did say it was like any other Mexican restaurant but in his book that doesn’t necessarily mean it was a bad thing. He really did enjoy it. I did too. I got a cheese enchilada, a chicken enchilada, and a chicken flauta with the usual rice and beans. The cheese in the cheese enchilada wasn’t quite ‘melty’ to where I’d like but melty enough, if that makes sense. My hubby had a burrito, and he said it was really good. The waitstaff is very nice here, and always came by to talk and to see how we were doing. If you never been here, try it I think you’ll like it! And if you had, well then you hopefully like it like I did and will keep coming back!

This is my favorite location just because the service is decent, although I’m not impressed by any of them. All this is on the Rico’s-Monoploy of the Woodlands-scale. I only go with a Groupon or coupon so as always it may skew my opinion. The food doesn’t seem the exact same at all locations which is good and bad. The food is all good but not great.

This place has great fajitas! They’re always super quick to get the food out especially to go and do not skimp on any sides. It tastes very similar to La Finca if you know what that is. This place is definitely worth 5 stars.

Food was good salsa was awesome and the house margarita had just enough kick… I purchased a groupon for $ 20 off my total bill which was also a plus considering I only spent $ 6.56 and that was for the margaritas ha! Overall good service good food and a good atmosphere!!!

Food is incredibly bland and service is always horrible. I have given them 3 chances and they always let me down. Why go here anyways when you can get food for the same price at Guadalajara or Chuys and its 50 times better? Don’t waste your money here

Rico’s is quite polarizing for many people. They either love it or hate it. I am a lover of Rico’s! From the table side, custom guacamole, to the hand rolled tortillas with a high ratio of lard to masa, to the sizzling fajitas. This place brings back memories of my first fajitas experience, many, many years ago. The food is simple, no fuss, and it is so good. It is also one of the cheaper Tex Mex joints in The Woodlands. The service is really solid.

Surprisingly good Mexican food for a low cost Mexican Chain. Green and sour cream enchiladas are good, margaritas are ok and fajitas are a bit sub par.

Crummy service. Forgot the drink, then when reminded brought a FROZEN margarita. Um, no. Food okay I guess, not great by any means. Not going back. The dessert tray looked interesting but the employees didn’t bring it by, were too busy talking amongst themselves. Bad customer service, don’t believe we were thanked or urged to come back.

I can sum up my whole review with one sentence: Edible, but ultimately disappointing. If you want the details… Service was as good as you’d expect at a well-run chain. No complaints. The chips and salsa were good. The rest, though, was not. The rice and beans, which are served with just about everything at a Tex-Mex place, need to be good. The rice here was extremely bland and a bit mushy. Rice from one of those Lipton pouches would have been better. The refried beans were most definitely from a can, and they badly needed some salt or any form of seasoning at all. Charro beans were probably also from a can, but they did at least add something to them to make them spicy. Chimichanga with fajita beef was good. If you find yourself here, I’d probably stick with that. Fajita beef in general was good, as were the tortillas. Fajita chicken had a strange, sour flavor. Carne asada had a weird tang to it. Tortilla soup had a one-note flavor, and was served with greasy tortilla strips. The«carnitas» were lightly grilled slices of an uncured ham. That’s nothing like the chunks of slow-roasted pork that carnitas should be. They had virtually no seasoning, either. I wouldn’t describe them as tough, but I did need a knife to cut them into small enough pieces to go into the tortillas. Rico’s is the kind of place you’d expect to find in a small town without any other choices. The food isn’t gag-worthy; it won’t make you sick; you won’t spit anything out. But the food isn’t really very good, either, and you likely won’t remember what you had the next day. The Woodlands offers much better. You could probably just pick one at random at it would be at least as good as Rico’s.

Service, especially Laura the bartender, is great!!! The food is average at best but it is The Woodlands. Get real Mexican food downtown but this place serves its purpose here.

This Rico’s is the best among those in The Woodlands, distinctive for ambiance, service, convenience, value and the food. Our dads had their bars, and we have our Tex Mex haunts. The list that make this place memorable is long. It starts with the surroundings before you ever get to the front door; the outright weird modern art in the front serve as a kid magnet, a jungle gym during your wait if you arrive between 6−7pm on a Friday night. There is ample seating inside and out favoring groups. Well groomed guys immediately arrive at your tables, the salsa version of Cheers and we are all Norm. You are immediately introduced to your server, mine is Ysidro and he by all appearances is the most valued asset in the place. The salsa is uniquely flavored and the fajitas are well worth the new shopping you will be doing at the Big and Large stores. If you can’t enjoy the food at this place, you may as well start your career in fasting.
