On Thanksgiving Day we decided that we were going to drive from Miami to Gainesville so that my nieces can spend as much time as possible with their ailing grandfather(my father) He suffers from Dementia and Alzheimer’s disease and his condition has started to deteriorate rapidly. A road trip isn’t ideal but money is too tight for a plane ticket at the moment and a five hour car ride didn’t seem too bad(he’s pretty good with road trips). About 75miles from our destination in a city called Wildwood our tire popped and after calling every single tire place in the vicinity we were beyond elated to find an open Walmart with not one, but two employees in the tire department! I think I almost cried because the thought of being stuck there with my sick father and all of our food in the car was actually more like a nightmare. When we drove up and the two Walmart employees approached our vehicle and said«actually we are closed» I couldn’t believe what I was hearing! Two able people who are just too lazy to help people in need on Thanksgiving! They couldn’t have«closed» more than a few minutes before we pulled up! Not to sound self righteous but this DEFINITELY wouldn’t have happened in my Miami Walmart! NOWAY! People would have come off of their shift to help us! FACT. Needless to say, I was more than appalled and went inside to speak to the manager. I explained that my sick father was in the car and that we were on our way to Gainesville for Thanksgiving and the whole story. She had me follow her to the back of the store where there were walls of tires. I thought for sure she would at least sell us a tire and we could call our road side assistance and have them put it on for us. Imagine my surprise when she turned to me and said«they are closed until 7am tomorrow» I even said«can you at least sell me a tire!» I mean, its in the same building… by the same company… she said no and that Id have to wait until morning… you mean the day AFTER Thanksgiving?! I have never been angrier in all of my life but I suppressed it and called my brother who came to our rescue about an hour later. It’s with great disappointment that I write this because I love shopping at Walmart! LOTS and LOTS of my friends HATE Walmart but I absolutely love it! Never once have I had something like this happen to me. In fact, I’ve had flat tires and had to go to «my» Walmart«after hours»(when I got off of work) and employees have waited for me here in Miami. Unfortunately, I don’t have any employee names because I was much more concerned with my father being so confused and agitated. I can tell you the location and also would also like to add that the manager on duty on Thanksgiving Day was the worst human being I’ve come across in a very long time as I’m sure she could have pulled some strings to help me out but chose not to. The address is The Villages Walmart Supercenter 4085 Wedgewood Ln The Villages, FL32162(352) 259‑0128.

For the past year, and seeming to increase month by month, a number of open spaces have been noted on Walmart shelves. This used to be my «first stop» store where each shopping trip began. Well, no longer. Having tired of having to make a return trip or to have to go elsewhere for particular items, this is now my «last stop» to pick up only those half-dozen items I can’t find elsewhere. I used to spend over $ 100/wk here. Now it’s a similar amount but per month instead of per week. And, yes, I know that my absence won’t affect them at all. But at least I’ve vented and hope some readers will bail on them also.

Generally I’m not a fan of Walmart but this location impressed me. I found shelves fully stocked which is rare in other Walmart’s I visit. This is especially true in the Toys section and I think the reason for that is that this Walmart is located in The Villages which is known for not having many children living there. As I walked around the store, I found everything to be pretty organized and I was greeted many times by friendly employees. This Walmart has a drive thru pharmacy which I found unique. I haven’t seen this at other locations and I’m thinking it’s due to The Villages. This Walmart is located on CR466 about a ¼ mile from US301.

Very dirty, pallets of product flowing over in the aisles. Biggest issue is the 1, yes uno register that is open at 10pm on a Friday night. 15 people in one line should make it obvious another register should be open especially as I’m looking at 4 employees stand here and chit chat.

This is the cleanest and most organized Wal-Mart I’ve ever been to. I’m from Miami and all the Wal-Mart locations there are so crowded & busy. This was a nice change.

Overall, it is a nice Wally World. However, you do have to put up with The Villages idiots!!!

4 Star when compared to other WalMarts. This one is clean, spacious and generally has courteous help. This one is MUCH preferred over the Summerfield or LEESBURG locations. Fairly decent food store also with pretty good savings on standard items(compared to Publix and Sweetbay).
