Mediocre deli for the goyim. It’s passable for lunch if you don’t expect a new york Jewish deli.

The roast beef was rare and very tasty and lean. The BLT deviled eggs were fabulous, and they come with my favorite, arugula. The desserts are decadent, especially the brownies and the cakes. Service has always been great too. So many selections on their menu! Highly recommend.

I was pleasantly surprised This is a real deli, what other place then a real deli can you order a tongue sandwich. Its a sandwich that can taste you back. TooJay’s is a very clean sanitary-esk restaurant. The service is service with a smile. My server Amanda was fast and efficient even when there was a hick-up in the kitchen, when another server took my order. But, Amanda was apologetic, and corrected the issue. Sue M. had told me TooJay’s had a pretty good Ruben and she was right, it was very big and very tasty. The menu has those deli items that you hated as a kid, but brings you back to your mom’s kitchen as an adult. Tongue Sandwiches, I can still remember my mom laughing like a crazy person, when she told me what I was eating. Stuffed cabbage, as a kid hated raisins in tomato sauce, now it looks fantastic and potato knishes. Well, I didn’t try those, but it brought me back home and I appreciate that. Will I go back again, yes happily!

OK for Florida. Wouldn’t make it in NY. Had pastrami on rye. Not up to snuff. Asked for potato knish. Out of them at 5PM. Wouldn’t happen in a real NY deli. Katz and the Carnegie crush this place.

The staff is very slow ready to take your money but to fill the is slow if there was a manager who trained the staff of 8 to more than stand around thee service would improve.

Outside seating up front is a you order and take out front to eat. Outside on the side – it’s with wait staff service BUT do not recommend for the following reasons: –table next to us was dirty and stayed that way the entire time. I wouldn’t have pointed that out but since it wasn’t busy at all somebody should’ve been out here and cleaning up the tables –we ordered water and coffee. Got the initial cup but never got a refill because our waitress never came outside. We never saw any water. –it seem as though there was no chef cooking because the food quality was subpar. The deli seems like there was a large selection and maybe this is just a breakfast thing. The last time we here I ordered the salmon platter which was very large and I couldn’t finish it and it was fresh. Such a different experience from the first one to the second. Was disappointed. Probably will not try TooJay’s again.

I went to Florida for a week long vacation and let me tell you that I regret coming here on my last day. I wish I could have found this place sooner! I went here, for the first time, with my mom at around 8:00 pm. I just wanted to order a slice of cake but they had this offer where you got two slices of cake and it was a few dollars more. I, like the fatty I am, took the offer. The cakes were amazing! I got the chocolate layered cake and the flourless chocolate cake. The flourless cake was basically a brownie with a small amount of frosting. I’m not a fan of brownies so my mom happily took that. As for the layered cake, it was probably one of the best I’ve ever had! So before we left to go back to Maryland the next morning, we stopped here for breakfast. I was kind of surprised they didn’t have pancakes but I decided to just get a waffle with some bacon. The bacon was crispy and melted in my mouth and the waffle was perfect! I wish they had TooJay’s in Maryland, because I’d be coming here all the time!

We have been to many TooJay’s and for breakfast I have always ordered the same thing. Eggs Benedict and I have never been disappointed. Today, however, the chain was broken. Today a group of 8 of us met for breakfast at this location. Some from out of town who had never been to a TooJay’s. Based on my past success with the E.B., I touted their greatness. 4 of the group followed my lead and ordered E.B. On all counts the poached eggs were right on the cusp of being hard boiled, no runny yoke, none at all, the tomatoes were wilted and there was not near enough hollendaise sauce. It was obvious that that the dishes had been prepared in advance for any orders that would come in and sat for possibly a few hours under a heat lamp. We arrived at 9:30AM. Big disappointment. Particularly since I had endorsed the E.B. so confidently. Needless to say the out of towners, while polite, were disappointed in the dish and had to be thinking… so what is so great about this TooJay’s anyway?

It is located near a golf course in a retirement village area. Most people are retired and there are more golf carts than cars on the road here. The prices are fair but the food is average, nothing exciting. Their menu appears to cater to New Yorkers with«New York style» everything.

This was my first visit ever to a TooJays and I found the breakfast to be just ok. I arrived at around 9:30am and it was not busy at all. I was seated immediately and I ordered the Bacon & Cheese Omelette with English Muffin and Home Fries. My order came out in less than 5 minutes and as I looked at my omelette, the American cheese was not melted, it was still in its solid state. I should’ve said something but I really don’t like sending food back. The bacon mixed into the egg mix was a bit on the burnt side so overall I was disappointed in taste and presentation. The home fries were nothing special, in retrospect I should’ve ordered the grits. The highlight of my visit was definitely the service. My waitress was attentive and stayed on top of refills. On my way out, I stopped by the dessert counter and I couldn’t resist buying some Black & White Cookies. I bought 1lb for $ 7.00 which is cheaper than what I find in the supermarkets. Overall, the cookies were good but not great. I feel the chocolate did not have time to settle in and as a result, the chocolate was a bit creamy. I do plan on returning one day to try their lunch selection, the menu had some appealing options.

Went to lunch with parents. Service was friendly and attentive. I had the Beef tongue sandwich and it was so tender and tasty. Definitely worth it. Will be going back.

Okay, I lied. I said, in a previous review that I wouldn’t go back. I did and I’m glad that I did. We had family in town who insisted on having lunch at a deli while at Lake Sumter Landing. To TooJays we went. I slunk past the deli case, the scene of my prior rant and was greeted by a very gracious host. Our party was seated immediately. The waiter was excellent. The sandwiches were superb. While I’m still upset over the prior episode, I have to be honest. The food is too good to not go back!

Ok ok I was totally smoking crack when leaving this place a 4 star review. Well, not literally, but voraciously inhaling some of the best rugelach I had eaten in years. That’s the only reason they got 4 stars. I continue to go for rugelach only quite frequently. Today I ventured out into getting a grilled veggie salad. Ick! It’s grilled veggies for the average crowd who eat at fast food places. It’s nothing good not appetizing. I’ll keep them at 3 stars based on a handful of other vegetarian items I have enjoyed — latkes and sweet potatoe fries. Besides this limited selection plus desserts, this place does not have it going on for the upscale organic vegetarian crowd. I personally can’t understand why anyone would want to eat in such a blah bland setting either. That’s not dining to me at all.

Toojay’s is a nice sit down deli and bakery. Fenny L. Is right, it’s not a true New York deli, but its got awesome corned beef on rye and Dr. Brown’s cream soda. Score!(Maybe I’m easily pleased) The atmosphere is nothing to write home about, but it’s clean and the staff is dependable and usually pleasant. Toojay’s is a Village’s hot spot so you may have to wait. But while you wait there are glass cases full of the most decadent desserts. I stick to Mounds cake. I will admit sometime they’re freezer burned(but none of my party has had something they had to send one back.) I love my corned beef on rye so much I can’t think of getting anything else. Except at breakfast! They have standard Jewish fair. I could eat for hours. And again, yes this isn’t an authentic NYC deli the New Yorkers in the Villages give their approval by being return customers.

I could eat a whole loaf of the rye bread in one sitting. This spot is vegan friendly if you get creative. The portobello sandwich is really good. The desserts look outrageous and family has assured me they are indeed really tasty. This is one of the go-to spots when visiting my parents as they cater to my vegan diet.

I’d always figured TooJay’s was just another franchise or chain joint. Ohhh, BOY! Was I ever delightfully surprised! The Hubs and I met some friends there for an impromptu Sunday afternoon lunch. We sat out on the patio and had the best time. Our waitress was fantastic and so attentive. The food? Everything was so good. I had the roasted vegetable omelette which was delicious. Tasted fresh and seasoned perfectly. Hubby had breakfast as well and all I remember was the Belgian waffle on his plate that he couldn’t finish after he’d stuffed himself with everything else that came with his entrée. You get so much food for very reasonable prices. I can’t wait to go back and try more of their offerings. If you haven’t been, I suggest you give it a try.

Great omlette! The bagels were amazing! The service was ok at best. My mother in law asked if she could upgrade to a muffin instead of the bagle and was told no. She said she was willing to pay an up charge, and was still told no. I thought this was handled poorly by the waitress. She easily could have apologized for the restaurants policy and asked if my mil still wanted a muffin as well, but she just said no substitutions. Otherwise, the food was great! I was surprised that they did not have any pancakes on the menu though.

I love TooJays! This was my first visit to this location. I was there at an off time so it wasn’t busy. I had the grilled brisket sammy which was served hot. As usual, the meat here was fantastic. They loaded up the sandwich w/about 1 ½″ of meat. For those that don’t know, you can always substitute a potato pancake for fries, which I did. The potato pancake and coleslaw were great. Not too much mayo in the coleslaw. My server, Robin however was less attentive than a server(let alone a server at TooJays) should be. I had to flag her down several times for needs and she never cleared any of plates, etc. while I was there so I could have some room. I also wanted to order take out from her but she brought my check while I was still eating my lunch and couldn’t. It’s not like it was busy. I also observed the manager on duty arguing w/a customer about a complaint. If you cannot voice your opinion to the mgr., who then??? I noticed the busser lounging slopped over at a booth which just looked unprofessional. The saving grace was the Hostess Tori who fielded customer complaints w/a smile. Props to her!!! The restrooms appeared to be clean as well as everything else. Though the busser wasn’t wiping down the entire tables… just partially. Current health inspection: 0 violations.
