Great spot– ate outside. Very great waitress. Had side salad and soup of the day. Bread was great as well as drinks– happy hour outside all day! Will be back!

We stopped for lunch and it was very good! I had the kale salad — tasty, but I wish the kale had been cut into bite size pieces as I spent as much time cutting up the kale as I did eating it! My hubby has the lunch portion of spaghetti with one meatball. Their complimentary bread is really good, and service was excellent!

Stars are not for the food but the fact we had to wait close to one hour for the bill to come. Yes, we had a big crowd of 50 but the menu was fixed so the only thing to consider was the drinks. Waiting close to one hour is unacceptable by any standard. It left a bad aftertaste. Now I know why people complain. I’ve calmed down now but was steaming when I was at the restaurant. They probably don’t care though since it seems like a popular joint.

Came for dinner, with party of 3, seated fairly quickly, ordered ½ carbonara and liver and peas app, when our entrees came, my carbonara was a full order(they have full and half orders). Because it was busy the server mixed it up or didn’t hear it correctly. I said again that I ordered ½ plate. The server called the floor manager over and I had to again explain to him. He told the plate away and 10 minutes later the server bought the ½ order, my guest were eating while this was happening. Everybody who has every eaten in a restaurant knows that all they did was pul the carbonara in a smaller plate. Sorry I forgot to mention this was our 15 time of eating at red sauce. I realize mistakes are made by both the customer and the restaurant. I retired from the wine and food industry and have eaten in 20 countries. We live in midtown mahattan when we not in the villages. We eat out 3 times a week on average, and have 27,000 restaurants in New York City, and a couple hundreds In the villages, our bill for that night was $ 87.67 with drinks. In the business of food. 99% of the restaurants would have just left the full plate and said they were sorry that the order was taken wrong and not kept the customer waiting for an additional 10 minutes while his guests were eating. Need to have better training. I don’t expect to have New York City trained staff, but Olive Garden has better training.

Hubby and I stopped in for a nice dinner. The Lobster bisque was a little darker than what I’ve had at many other places and was slightly bitter in taste. Wished it had a little lobster chunks as a surprise in it but there was none. Calamari was excellent. Spag & meatballs were just good. Carbonara was just good. Bread was good. Would have been better should the Bread be accompanied by plain marinara sauce instead of the chunky. Food gets 3 stars. Service gets 4 stars. Cleanliness of the restaurant gets 4 stars.

Fantastic!!! We loved Red sauce! Our server Julie gave us exemplary service!!! She was friendly(made us feel right at home) and attentive! An asset to Red sauce! We enjoyed the pasta chips with Alfredo dipping sauce and brushetta dipping. The pizza was delicious. My golden and red beet salad with goat cheese, fennel and I added grilled chicken on top sprinkled with generous portion of pignoli nuts over top so amazing! My mom enjoyed her dish as a regular living in the villages — Sausage and broccoli rabe over pasta! The head chef was right there expediting and checking every dish as it went out. Way to go! Great business practice! We enjoyed the evening live entertainment with a little Sinatra thrown in. Again, So Fantastic!

Food was good but the service needs help. A person in my party ordered the bolognese and it came out wrong… the server apologized and told him if he wanted to go ahead and eat that dish while his original order was being prepared. 5 – 7 minutes later the server came back out and said he had to remove the incorrect dish, mid bite, so he could throw it away. To me that was rude and uncalled for. Doubt we will ever come back.

I love the bars where you walk in and even if they don’t know your name they know your drink! We were served by James for a couple of nights and he was right there! Attentive and friendly. The kitchen has been surprisingly good as well. As a side I had Lobster Mc and Cheese, the Lobster was really good, the sauce was more cream than cheese, a little to blend unfortunately. The pasta with Vodka sauce was really flavor full! I will have that again any day. The Bologna is ok, we liked the fresh herbs in all the dishes. Having fresh Parmesan when food is served would add to the total appearance for sure. We were served by a really nice girl, Amanda a couple of times here and that was a true pleasure. Oh, almost forgot! They have the cutest ladies working as hostesses here, love that part.

I don’t like to bad mouth a restaurant but in this case I have to say something. First the service was very good, no complaints there. My problem was the food, I ordered eggplant parmigiana and it was the worst I have ever eaten. I told my friend and he tried it and spit it out into his napkin. The server was very nice and offered to replace it and I told him no thanks. The manager also came over and asked if I wanted something else and I said no. We got a Pizza to go and we had friends at home and they didn’t like the pizza so we throw it out. My friend ordered lobster ravioli and the sauce was like water so he sent it back so they could thicken it. When it came back he was satisfied with the meal. I feel bad writing a review like this but it’s the truth.

I love the Anti-Pasta salad at Red Sauce. At times when it is too hot outside it is just nice to go to Red Sauce and get this salad! I really have not ever had a bad meal at Red Sauce in The Villages!

This place is AWESOME! The bartenders are great and the food was really good. Granted, not exceptional, but good. We had two appetizers, the Parmesan Balls and the antipasto. Both tasty and the meats and cheeses were good quality. The outdoor patio bar is the best. I had the New Amsterdam Smash which is a vodka based mixture with fresh fruit and it was wonderful. Well, actually I had several of those. Ha ha. The warm chocolate cake is exactly that. Warm, moist and delicious. My boyfriend abandoned his crime brûlée and stole my cake. We visited all three Squares in The Villages(Sumter Landing, where Red Sauce is, Spanish Square and Brownwood) during our 4 day stay, we kept winding up here. The crowd is a great mixture of locals and tourists; young and old. Great, friendly people. I’m not sure why it has some of the poor reviews it does. Seating on the patio can get tricky during busy meal times but I didn’t notice anyone waiting prolonged periods without service. We loved this place and are returning soon.

Manager, thank you for responding but I’m confused about your mention of gluten free. Our server clearly said you do not offer gluten free pastas. Was he wrong? I’m not talking about offering fish or meat or whatever you may have that may be gluten free for non-vegetarians. When I’m going to an Italian restaurant, I personally want to eat pasta and you did not offer it. I do look forward to returning to try your gluten free pasta options prepared with love and farm fresh ingredients.

Almost didn’t go because of the reviews on here. Would have missed a great meal! Told the host it was our first time and he gave us a great table. Six folks in our party. We ordered salads and pizzas. It was all wonderful! The warm ciabatta bread comes an amazing tomato butter — and we also made dipping sauce from the selection of ingredients in the table. Mr. O’Brien, our personable server, was wonderful and attentive. Ask for him!

Such a disappointment. After a long day, my coworkers and I wanted to grab dinner and drinks. Similar to other reviews, we were told outside was first come/first serve. Fortunately we found a table in the corner. Things that made this a bad idea: 1. No hostess seating means no servers notified. We waited a while for someone to greet us. 2. No silverware or napkins were provided prior to us receiving our food. What upset me most: — The table was not level. When the server put my beer on the table, some of it spilled and she jokingly said«guess now it’s a 10 oz». Slowly the beer starting dripping on me, so I asked for napkins. Her response was most shocking…“well the table isn’t even.”. Not«I’m sorry», or «I will be right over with a towel/napkins», but rather no acknowledgement that something had happened.(And nothing was offered for my less than full beer.) — When our apps came, I apologized and asked if we could send back the antipasta. The bread was stale, the meat looked like prepackaged deli meat(olive loaf), canned olives, and bad cheese. Our server’s response…“the bread is supposed to be hard. I guess you didn’t know what you were ordering.“ Other noteworthy items: — Pizza was awful(similar to a cheap frozen one). — We were never given knives. — Smokers on the porch were allowed to be to close to people eating. — Staff rarely smiled.(If they don’t want to be there, why would we?) I worked hospitality for over 10 yrs. It’s a hard business. I know what it is like to be slammed. Tonight’s service wasn’t the volume of guests, but rather the lack of acknowledgement from the staff that we were guests. I frequently visit the Villages, and I will never return to this restaurant.
